Patch 7.4 is Releasing Tuesday, December 16th

As confirmed from the 89th PLL, the patch date (thankfully!) hasn’t changed. Patch 7.4 is still releasing on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025. Check out the summarized schedule above.
New MSQ and Duties Coming to Patch 7.4

There’s a good amount of content releasing this patch, so let’s break it down:
- Main Scenario Quests: Update to Patch 7.4
- New Dungeon: Mistwake
- New Trial and Extreme Trial: Hell on Rails
- Upcoming Unreal: Tsukuyomi’s Pain
As always with the new dungeon and trial duty, you unlock by progressing through the MSQ. For Hell on Rails (Extreme), you’ll receive 2 totems per clear instead of the usual 1 totem.
The Final Arcadion: Heavyweight Tier
Get ready to rock and roll this wrestling season, as the Arcadion: Heavyweight tier is releasing in Patch 7.4! Featuring at least 4 new challengers, this tier will be the final raid series for Dawntrail. There are truly no words to describe how awesome the upcoming raid tier will be, so just see for yourself!

During the livestream, the developers showcased the first few minutes of Arcadion: Heavyweight tier M2 (also known as M10N). Expect a fiery splash of excitement as you fight Red Hot and Deep Blue! (These names are directly translated from Japanese.)
They also showcased the equipment obtainable from the Heavyweight Tier. 👀 With the upcoming Glamour changes, keep in mind the following:

- Anyone can wear anything of their choosing! You may see a Healer wearing Tank gear this tier~
- Weapon Glamours are still exclusive to their respective Job or Class
- Savage Raid gear is dyeable, whereas Normal Raid gear cannot
This tier also features music created by Tom Morello, who’s a Grammy Award-winning artist from Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and more. 🧑🎤
The PLL showed off a special message from Tom Morello, who produced the soundtrack Everything Burns (feat. Beartooth). Be sure to take a listen when you enter the Arcadion: Heavyweight tier!
PVP Changes
You can’t have a patch update without something from PvP! Starting from Tuesday, December 16th, players can enjoy:
- PvP Series 10
- Some PvP Action Adjustments
- New Exchangeable Items (Commendation Crystals): Wolf & Eagle gear series
- New Frontlines Campaign: Worqor Chirteh (Triumph)
The new item exchange requires Commendation Crystals, which you can obtain from placing in Crystalline Conflict ranked matches. You can obtain gear previously awarded in Season 1 and 2 of the Feast, which is now retired PvP content. Notably, this gear will feature different color palettes and dye channels from past releases.
New Frontlines: Worqor Chirteh (Triumph)
The livestream also showcased Worqor Chirteh (Triumph), the upcoming Frontlines campaign.

Here is a summary of everything you’ll want to know in Worqor Chirteh:

- If multiple Grand Companies are in the same Triumph circle, you cannot claim it.
Only one Grand Company is allowed.
Notably, multiple players in one circle will not speed up the process. - If you leave the circle mid-completion, or another Grand Company enters it, you’ll have to restart from the beginning.
You cannot save your flag capture progress if you leave mid-way. - If you get caught by weather AOE effects, they will apply a buff (or debuff!) on you.
These telegraphs can appear anywhere near flags or combat. - Interestingly, the snow friends also cancel line-of-sight attacks. Use this to your advantage!
- If you’re behind the competition, use any Auroras that appear! This weather condition cause higher-ranking Triumphs to appear at a higher rate, changing the tides of battle!
An Air Force One Update in 2025?!

It’s never too late for a Gold Saucer update! Players can now take a ride to The Cieldalaes. We love more ways to earn MGP. ✨
Major Glamour Updates

During the PLL, they demonstrated how the update works in-game. It essentially works the same way as glamouring with a Glamour Prism, or via Glamour Plates. However, starting in Patch 7.4, you can now glamour all gear (from all Disciples of War/Magic/Hand/Land) to any piece you’d like.
The only exception are weapons, as they are vital to switching jobs and classes properly. Sorry! 😅 The player in the screenshot above is 100% Dragoon! At least check out the upcoming Crafted gear to make you feel better? Perhaps, even a little… magical? 💖

There’s also an update to the Outfit Glamour system, seen below:

New Feature: Strategy Board

The most-anticipated raiding feature is now available, starting in Patch 7.4! The Strategy Board is a planning tool available in-game, where players can share boards to discuss fights and learn more about how to solve mechanics.
Some of the features (not all!) include:
- Multiple Presets to choose from, with region-specific options
- Platform Parameters exist, so the board’s floor design can be custom-made
- Sharing Codes don’t expire. So if you have a code that’s not currently saved, you can re-import it and view whenever you want
- Save up to 50 permanent boards, or keep 20 in a temporary storage
- Copied sharing codes can be shared outside of the game, within your party, or even in-game chat
- Folders can only be shared with party members
- You can also “screen-share” and edit Strategy Boards in real-time!
Please note that there are some limitations, such as server latency or only one editor can work on a screen-shared board in real-time. Be sure to provide feedback to help improve this new feature!
New Feature: Command Panel

Aptly named クイックパネル “Quick Panel” in Japanese! You can treat this new feature as a “floating” hotbar that doesn’t need to be active all the time. However, this is a little more advanced than just your average hotbar or cross-hotbar.
You can find this new feature under Extras in your Action List (where you normally find skills and abilities). To use, you can click on it (or assign the button to hotbar with a command). In addition, you can also adjust the window’s appearance, and assign up to 100 slots in the Command Panel.
Below are the adjustable Command Panel settings we saw on stream. Setup and try out the feature when you get the chance!
- Close Window on Action
- Open Panel where your Cursor is
- Open Last Panel used
- Lock the Panel
Occult Crescent Adds THREE Phantom Jobs

There’s still more coming to Patch 7.4! If you’re itching to work on your Phantom Relic Weapon steps, or farm Forked Tower some more, check out the following Occult Crescent updates:
- There are 3 new Phantom Jobs: Mystic Knight, Dancer, and Gladiator
- New Accessories for Occult Crescent Exploration
No More Losing Deep Dungeon Saves to D/Cs
Have you been frustrated with progressing through Pilgrim’s Traverse? Or trying to go for that solo Deep Dungeon achievement, only to disconnect at any moment?
Starting in Patch 7.4, FFXIV is implementing a new feature to hopefully save your run:

Patch 7.41

In the content releasing after Arcadion: Heavyweight Tier (Savage), we have:
- A New Cosmic Exploration Star: Oizys
- The Next Phantom Weapon Relic Step
While these updates weren’t covered much in this PLL, check out our other articles below!
Patch 7.45

Releasing in Patch 7.45, currently expected in February or March, we have:
- New Variant and Criterion Dungeon: The Merchant’s Tale
- Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures Update
We’ve previously covered all the changes coming to Criterion Dungeons, which you can check out here. You can also review the overview below:

Based on the in-game footage, there are no changes to how Variant Dungeons are structured. If you’re looking to explore the other paths, check out the hints in your Storybook! We are getting one new Variant Action called Variant Eagle Eye Shot.
Final Updates
Last, but not least, we’ve got Duty Support for Dzemael Darkhold and Aurum Vale. In addition, you can also try out some new UI colours in Clear Green and Clear White.
Stay up to date with Final Fantasy XIV by checking out the content on Icy Veins! See you soon, Warriors of Light!
