Have Your First Look At Evercold’s Realmships & Dungeons

I can show you the world, Warriors of Light~ Some of Evercold‘s world, at least! During the Final Fantasy XIV EU Fan Fest 2026 keynote in Berlin, we learned more about the Fourth. The extended teaser trailer for the expansion, various concept art, and development footage showcased some of the locations in our next journey.

The extended teaser trailer is packed with more clues on what’s to come in Evercold, like the reveal for the new Tank Job, Bastion. However, we’re here to appreciate the Fourth’s environment and to take the opportunity to admire the team’s hard work so far!

Field Area: Realmship of Water, Naglfar

The Fourth has been ravaged by creeping ice and in civilization’s struggle to survive, they fled to the skies. They built five massive skyships, the Five Firmaments, and paired each Realmship with an element. Each one seems to house an elemental Ark (or perhaps Arc?) Crystal which will be important to the Main Scenario Quest.

Naglfar appears to host vast grasslands for both farming and raising cattle. Various small buildings litter the region, likely for the farmers and villagers. A ring of high walls surround an impressive serpent-faced edifice. Whether it is to keep things in or out remains to be seen!

New City: Fargarth

Welcome to our newest player town hub, Fargarth! The city resides within Naglfar and it is visually stunning. Equally stunning is the music playing in the preview! However, we’re told that the music is only a placeholder created by Soken in just one night. I think it’d be a shame to not use it in some capacity because it sounds beautiful.

Player density in a new expansion’s city typically thins out as time goes on. Will Naglfar be the one to dethrone Limsa Lominsa as the go-to AFK spot?

Field Area: Realmship of Fire, Hringhorni

Hringhorni features notable differences to its sister Realmship. Everything is in much warmer tones. The forestry, crystals, and even the music is redder (don’t question it). Not to mention the lava that snakes and flows around the industrial foundries.

The tentatively named World Raids are a change coming to upgrade the field exploration experience, teased to be inspired by Eureka. It may not arrive with the launch of Evercold, but it’s fun to imagine what kind of new challenges we may face on these Realmships. Critical Engagements, like in Bozja and Occult Crescent, could be interesting additions.

Closer Look At New Dungeons

We’re being fed very well. Not only did we get concept art for the new dungeons, but in-game screenshots too! Each dungeon is stylistically very different from each other and features a mix of indoor and outdoor settings.

Side note, the screenshot with the farm and sheep feels reminiscent of Shadowbringer’s Holminster Switch. Hopefully I don’t get sucker punched in the feelings at the second boss again!

That’s all for now! They wanted to avoid giving away too much so they don’t spoil any of the new story. If you can’t wait, it may be time to brush up on some Norse mythology as it served as inspiration for parts of Evercold. The inclusion of FFXIII’s Odin as the mount for the Collector’s Edition feels like a nod to that as well! As always, stay tuned for more FFXIV news on Icy Veins!
