Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel Event Guide for Zenless Zone Zero

This is a new mode that was introduced in Version 3.1 on August 5, 2026. It is a permanent mode, but it includes a few exclusive rewards that you must claim during the initial 34-day event period. All the other rewards are permanent and can be obtained at any time, including the Mindscapes and W-Engine items for Pyrois.

This is a permanent combat mode where players must complete specific commissions inside the Hollows to investigate the Omond Research Station!

In order to participate, you will need to reach Inter-Knot Level 20 and complete the Main Story Chapter 1 Intermission.

This event is a permanent mode where you can complete various commissions inside the Hollow in order to obtain rewards!

First, head to Coff Cafe on Sixth Street and talk to Shepherd, the Agent sitting at a table with a laptop.

After the dialogue, head to Random Play and interact with your HDD. Select "Let's go! Into Papago!" to start the mode. Inside the Hollow, you control Pyrois, accompanied by your trusty Eous! Follow the quest and defeat your first enemies. After the fight, you can pick up batteries and open containers. The batteries will land in your inventory, and you can find various collectible items inside the containers. You will be able to sell some of these later.

In your inventory, you also have different options. You can manage your equipment and items, and store items you do not want to lose in the Safe. If the timer expires or you die, you will lose anything that is not stored in the Safe. However, do not worry: the next time you enter the Hollow, you can pick up the items you dropped!

Items come in different qualities: Green, Blue, Purple, Gold, and Red, with Red being the highest quality available. The greater the value, the rarer and harder the item is to obtain.

Make sure you look around and explore the Hollow thoroughly. Many safes are tucked away in corners, trucks, and other places and can contain valuable items such as Special Supplies!

Some boxes are harder to crack and contain more valuable items, such as Electronic Strongboxes. These are special containers that hold highly valuable supplies. You need to use signal calibration and press at the right moment to build up progress and decrypt the key to unlock it.

Special Supplies often consist of equipment that your Agent can wear to gain bonuses. For example, the blade shown in the previous image grants three Alter Skills when equipped: Perfect Block, Phase Dash, and Powerful Slash.

These special Alter Skills will be added to your skill bar, and you can use them during fights.

When you approach enemies, their Alert Level is displayed above their heads. The closer you get, the more likely they are to detect you. Some Alter Skills allow you to defeat enemies from behind, but this only works if you are not detected beforehand, so be careful!

Notorious Targets are more dangerous enemies that you can encounter during your exploration. They are minibosses that appear in response to specific conditions.

For example, The Hound is a Notorious Target drawn to high-value items. The higher the total value of collected supplies, the more likely the Hound is to appear and chase after you. When it appears, it will be protected by a Cacophony Shield. When this shield is active, the enemy is immune to all attacks, so avoid it whenever possible!

You can run away from it or try to fight it. When the Hound attacks, trigger a Perfect Assist to weaken its shield. You can also use the Perfect Block Alter Skill to block its attack. Once its shield is destroyed, the Hound will be knocked back. This creates a brief opening during which you can use the Powerful Slash Alter Skill to deal massive damage.

During the first Season, you have access to two areas:

• Suburbs Illusion
• Janus Illusion

With each new Season, more areas will gradually be unlocked for you to explore. Once you enter an area in the Hollow, you can open your map to check the available missions and Wishlist items tracked during the exploration. You can choose which target to track based on what you want to do.

After completing the tutorial, head to the Omond Research Station whenever you want to start a mission and open the Enigma menu. You can then select "To Hollow" and choose one of the available areas to enter.

Each area has a few recommended Agents that are labelled with an "UP" on their icons. It is best to pick one of them. Once you have picked your Agent, equip them with gear and items such as healing items or items that provide bonuses, and you are good to go! Your Agent's level and power will depend on the gear and items you equip them with.

When you start your run, the game provides a Support Supplies crate containing equipment that will help you during your exploration.

You can equip one tactical item in its designated equipment slot. For example, you can equip an Etheric Phantom: Mutant Formicarrier. This will again add a skill to your bar. The skill provides Stealth, preventing detection by enemies and enabling a swift escape from combat if needed.

Tactical items provide useful bonuses to your Agent.

Once you unlock the Commissions menu, you will find three different types:

• Investigation Commissions - Your primary missions. You need to complete these in order to unlock more Enigma content.
• Weekly Commissions - Additional commissions that reset every week and that you can complete for Bounty points. You can obtain a total of 8,000 points per week through these missions. These replace your usual Hollow Zero: Lost Void activities, so you can pick which mode you prefer each week.
• Season Commissions - These have multiple phases. You need to complete all commissions in the previous phase and reach the required Season Level to unlock the next phase. These reset with each Season. If you want the related rewards, you need to complete the commissions before the Season ends.

A good approach is to track a main Investigation Commission, as the rest will most likely complete themselves. Weekly missions are often things like "Open a total of 20 containers" or "Earn 100,000 in a single investigation," so they will be completed naturally as you play the mode.

During your exploration, you will be able to find different types of Evacuation Anchors. They all serve the same purpose: allowing you to return safely to the Omond Research Station.

When you explore, always keep an eye on the timer. You usually have around 20 minutes to explore, and then you need to find an Anchor to evacuate on time. Anchors differ only in their unlock requirements. For example, Elimination Anchors require you to defeat the nearby enemies before you can unlock and use them.

After you activate an Anchor, there is a short delay before it teleports you back, so make sure you do not wait until the very last minute to seek one out, or you will run out of time before it teleports you away safely. It is a good idea to head towards an Anchor when you have less than 10 minutes left. They appear on your map, so you can easily track them.

After each investigation, you can store your collected items in your storage box or sell your valuables. However, do not sell your materials, because you will need them in order to upgrade your Hubs.

Leveling up your Hub gives you access to larger zones, more content, and more features.

For example, you can unlock the R&D Center, which allows you to unlock a third Agent slot. This is also where you can unlock Agent talents that let you start with more shields, increase the number of Alter Skills you can use, increase storage capacity, or even reduce store prices.

Once again, DO NOT SELL YOUR MATERIALS because you need them for all these upgrades. Only sell your valuables and broken items.

You will also need materials for the Smart Workshop. This is where you can craft higher-level gear. You can use Quick Restock if you need more materials, but it costs quite a lot of Gear Coins, so be careful.

In the Collections menu, you can view all the items you have collected. Most importantly, each item you obtain under the Valuables tab rewards you with Polychrome, so make sure you claim it inside the Collections menu!

Depending on their rarity, items can grant varying amounts of Polychrome.

During the event period, you can earn the following exclusive rewards. You have 34 days to claim them:

On top of the basic rewards, you can also obtain the following unique items:

• Proxy accessories

• 1 Dubi-Meow Headwear for Proxies

These are all rewards you can buy through Boojee's Store. You will need to spend the Gear Coins you collect during exploration. On top of that, Boojee also sells equipment and other useful items you may need for your Hollow explorations.
