ZZZ Players Face a Tough Pull Choice With Remielle Dan So Close

The eccentric Norma has officially joined the Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) roster, but her release comes at a time when many players are already looking beyond her banner. Rather than debating her kit or where she fits into the current meta, many ZZZ players are asking a much simpler question: is she worth pulling with Void Hunter Remielle Dan right around the corner?

It’s a difficult position for any character to be in. While Norma has impressed during her trial appearances and has carved out a niche as a unique Stunner capable of contending with the established Dialyn, her release comes immediately before one of the most anticipated banners in recent memory.

Void Hunters Have Historically Been Premium Pulls

Void Hunters have consistently been positioned as some of ZZZ’s biggest releases, often coming with unique mechanics and long-term value to player accounts. The previous one, Ye Shunguang, continues to dominate the meta several updates after her initial release, and is widely considered to be the strongest character in Zenless Zone Zero. Because of that history, many players have naturally fallen into the habit of saving their Polychrome whenever a new Void Hunter approaches. For many in the community, endgame woes have historically been lessened when doing so. In this case, Remielle Dan fits the bill.

Norma is facing a massive uphill battle, and it has less to do with her meta viability. Player discussions have increasingly shifted away from whether she’s good and toward whether she’s worth pulling right now, knowing Remielle Dan is expected to headline in the first half of Version 3.1, which also coincides with ZZZ’s upcoming anniversary update.

In the Shadow of the Next Void Hunter

Ironically, Norma herself isn’t the biggest question mark surrounding her banner. Early impressions have been largely positive, with players praising her utility and identifying several teams where she could become a valuable long-term option.

Instead, the biggest obstacle may simply be timing. Launching right before an anniversary update and a new Void Hunter puts Norma in one of the most competitive banner windows ZZZ has seen. It also doesn’t help that many players view Norma as more of a sidegrade to Dialyn, especially since she’s the Agent most compared against. Ultimately, Norma’s biggest hurdle appears to be the placement of her banner, rather than concerns surrounding her viability or value.

Whether players ultimately decide to spend or save will come down to their own rosters and priorities. But one thing is already clear: Norma has found herself facing the overwhelming anticipation surrounding a Void Hunter, and that’s a challenge few banners would welcome.
