Sorcerer Class Mechanic – Enchantments
Non-Ultimate Skills can be equipped in the two available Enchantment Slots. A skill must have at least one skill point allocated to it in order to be used in the Enchantment Slot. Skill points that have been granted through gear work as well.
Equip
Frost Nova in the first Enchantment Slot for automatic triggers to Freeze enemies, apply Vulnerable, and generate Mana through its modifiers.
Equip
Teleport (
Blaze) in the second Enchantment Slot to enable an Evade Teleport for additional mobility and gain both Fire Damage bonuses from
Enchantment Master.

Ensure you apply a Tempering affix to your endgame items. If you have a surplus of crafting materials, reroll Tempering affixes on your best items until they upgrade to a Greater Affix.
Capstone Bonuses are granted after Masterworking 25% Quality and can be re-rolled for a cost. Any priority affixes worth boosting are denoted below. For more details, check the Tempering and Masterworking guides.

Esu’s Heirloom (recommended) provides a massive boost to Critical Strike chance. If your Esu’s Heirloom does not provide additional Evade Charges, Legendary Boots are recommended as a swap for speed-farming. - Masterworking Priority: Movement Speed (up to 100% cap)
Tibault’s Will (optional) provides a slight damage increase for a maximum damage setup, but beware, as you lose significant survivability by replacing a Defensive Aspect. - Masterworking Priority: Intelligence or Maximum Life
Gems and Runewords
Equip the corresponding Gems into your Weapon, Armor, and Jewelry slots.
| Weapon Gems | Armor Gems | Jewelry Gems |
|---|---|---|
Insert two sets of Runewords, consisting of a Rune of Ritual and a Rune of Invocation, into any equipped Helm, Chest, or Pants item. Add sockets to your equipment at the Jeweler if necessary. Check the Runewords Guide for more details.

Gar is helpful to gain Critical Hit Chance when starter gear is lacking early on.
Paragon Board
Use the following Paragon Boards, Legendary Nodes, and Glyphs for the Fireball Sorcerer.
Season 14 Mechanics
In the Season of Death Awakening, close Ruptures to earn Glints of Hope, which can be redeemed at the reputation board in Zarbinzet for rewards. Defeat Realmwalkers to gain access to the Deathtoll Chamber for a chance of dropping a Superior Lair Key. Finish the seasonal questline to fight the final Lair Boss, and use Superior Lair Keys to open its cache for Pandemonium Fragments.
All Unique Items can now drop as or be converted to a Mythic Unique, which boosts their Unique Power by 30% and rolls maximum values for all affixes. Upgrade any Unique One-Handed Sword at the Horadric Cube with 5 Pandemonium Fragments until you obtain a Mythic
Raiment of the Infinite. Only one crafted Mythic Unique can be equipped at a time.
The previous Mythic Unique Items, such as
Harlequin Crest and
Ring of Starless Skies, have become Iconic Mythics.
All Uniques, Mythic Uniques, and Iconic Mythics now have two guaranteed affixes and two random affixes. One affix can be rerolled with Enchanting.

Build Mechanics
The Fireball Sorcerer launches fiery projectiles that explode on impact.
Fireball excels at dealing area damage to groups of enemies after vortexing them with
Raiment of the Infinite, or the
Noc
Kry Runeword.
Two Skills of each elemental type are equipped on the Skill Bar to activate
Aspect of Elemental Constellation for a massive 240%[x] increased damage bonus when imprinted on a Staff.
Aspect of Elemental Attunement is often activated due to the area damage of
Fireball with decent Lucky Hit Chance, rapidly resetting
Ice Armor,
Flame Shield,
Teleport, and
Frost Nova.
Ice Armor grants a massive Barrier, increased Armor, and Unstoppable. The benefits can be refreshed every second when hitting enough enemies for a significant boost to survivability.
Frost Nova generates Mana and applies Vulnerable to enemies through its modifiers. The Skill can be cast from the Skill Bar or triggered through its Enchantment effect.
Teleport is an effective Mobility Skill and, more importantly, pulls enemies towards you through
Raiment of the Infinite. Group enemies together to enhance area damage explosions from
Fireball and
Azurewrath.
Blaze consumes Overpower charges generated by the modifier on
Flame Shield to spam Teleport.
Inferno overflows Overpower by 2 to stack the unique effect on
Emberfury or reset the Cooldown of
Teleport (
Blaze). The Cooldown modifier allows Inferno to be cast frequently to speed-farm activities.
Rotation and Playstyle
Use the following rotation to optimize the playstyle:
- Cast
Teleport to traverse and/or group up enemies with
Raiment of the Infinite. - Spam
Ice Armor and
Flame Shield. These buttons can be held down if you tap
Fireball. - Vortex large groups of enemies with
Inferno. - Cast
Frost Nova to Freeze enemies and apply Vulnerable, if it is not already triggered by its Enchantment effect. - Spam
Fireball to deal damage.
