We know you’re getting restless, Warriors of Light. Last April, Square Enix released information about the next FFXIV expansion, and since then, we’ve been eagerly awaiting vital details, including the Evercold release date.
Regardless, we do know some details about the Fourth reflection of Hydaelyn and some of what’s coming in a few months. We can also theorize when exactly we could expect Evercold to drop, based on the date of another key event. 📅
What We Know So Far About Evercold
Square Enix has confirmed that Evercold will arrive in January 2027. The company has also announced several new features we should expect:
- Two new jobs: Bastion and an unnamed Physical Ranged DPS
- Level cap increase from 100 to 110
- Main scenario progression update
- New battle system with Reborn and Evolved modes
- Auto content balancing
- Chocobo Companion rework
- Expanded character customization options
- Free trial expanded to include the Shadowbringers expansion
- New cities and areas
- New dungeons and trials
- “Ghosts of Desire” Evangelion raid and “Beyond the Lifestream” FFVII raid
- PvP updates
- New gear and crafting recipes
- Duty Support updates
What Square Enix hasn’t officially confirmed, however, is the exact release date of Evercold and early access. Despite this, we’ve looked at information surrounding FFVII Remake and have a theory.
What FFVII’s Anniversary Can Tell Us About Evercold’s Release Date
As many FFXIV players know, major patches drop on Tuesdays. Based on this parameter, our options for January would be the 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. January 5th is too soon after New Year’s, and January 26th is unlikely.
We theorize that the FFVII raid release will coincide with the anniversary of FFVII on January 31st. If so, January 15th would be the start of early access with a possible January 19th Evercold release date. This, in turn, would mark February 2nd as the FFVII Remake raid release.
Whether this is true remains to be seen, and we’re sure to find out either way at Tokyo Fan Fest at the end of this week. Stay tuned until then, Warriors of Light!
