Best Specs to Play in Mythic+ in The War Within Season 3 (Patch 11.2)

It’s time to take a peek into the future and see what things could be like at the start of Season 3! Our tier list for the patch 11.2 PTR is always being updated, as changes come in pretty much every week. We’ll keep updating you as the changes come in as well, right up until the season launches on August 12th.

The Changes

We immediately see the effects of the tuning and reworks at the top as Unholy slips down quite a bit, down to A tier from the No.1 spot. Replacing it at the top is the former No.3, as Arcane is looking to have another really great season. Beast Mastery is the most buffed of them all as it rises from the bottom 3 right into 2nd place. Frost DK moves up the same number of spots, down from the bottom into 3rd place. Balance remains near the top, dropping two spots but remaining in S-tier.

Fire is never far from the top but it does rise here as well, from A into the top of A+. Enhancement is one of the very few specs that remains exactly where it was, while Shadow gets a big bump! The Priest moves from the bottom middle of the pack into the top of A+. Havoc also moves up in the world, just ahead of Demonology and Marksmanship, who just switched places. And at the end of A+ we find another massively buffed spec, as Survival moves up from the penultimate spot to just outside the top 10!

The Top Tiers

Now let’s take a look at the full top tiers and the many DPS specs populating them. These are curated and made by our guide writer Petko.

You can check out the full tier list with all the categories, as well as commentary for each spec and all the utility they bring to groups in our guide here.

And here’s Petko himself explaining it all in detail:

We should see plenty more changes, especially to the big reworked specs in the coming weeks. The general shape of things could remain stable, however, and we know some Hunters (both Demon and regular variety) who sure would like that.
