Lisa Guide and Best Builds

Lisa Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Lisa is one of the original 4-star characters of Genshin Impact. She has long been a puzzling character, as her toolkit was confusing and did not fit many teams. However, the addition of Dendro has made Lisa a fantastic options as an on-field driver or an off-field reaction support. She offers an exceptional Electro Aura on the field and can shred enemy defenses as well as being a potentially strong Electro on-field DPSer with the right investment.

Lisa Off-field DPS Build

For the purpose of this guide, we want to focus on Lisa's role as an off-field reaction driver, who can use her amazing Electro skills to trigger some great team damage through Elemental Reactions. While this role is not as potent as a pure DPS role, it requires a lot less investment and does not require any of her constellations.

Lisa's top pick for her weapon is Kagura's Verity for its bonus effects when using an Elemental Skill. This effect can stack three times, increasing Elemental Skill damage by 12%, and then once you have all three stacks you gain another 12% bonus of Elemental DMG. Her second best choice, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, grants movement speed and bonus elemental damage. Alternatively, a good overall choice for a 4-star weapon is the Solar Pearl. Lastly, one weapon choice that we feel that deserves mention is the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers for its ability to boost character's ATK when they enter the field. This catalyst is a great choice for a F2P player and even though it is a 3-star, it can be extremely helpful for certain team compositions.

As for her Artifacts, Thundering Fury is her best in slot set with its ability to buff up Aggravate damage for reaction teams. The number two slot is held by the Gilded Dreams set, with both of its bonuses amplifying our Elemental DMG. While there are instances where you could build a 2-piece mixed set, the combined bonuses simply do not compete with these two 4-piece sets and should be discarded.

Combos and How to Play Lisa

The first thing any new Lisa player needs to understand is how her Conductive stacks work. This component of her game play is quite confusing and the in-game explanations do not help. Lisa's Elemental Skill, Violet Arc, once tapped will travel to an enemy and the initial impact will create a small radius. Enemies within that radius, including the first one you hit, will gain a single stack of Conductive. Now this what the game fails to explain, each of the mobs that were hit in the initial strike will also create their own small radius for a single Conductive stack. This is why a well placed skill shot can create 3 stacks of Conductive on multiple enemies. This effect is also applied if a reaction, Overload or Superconduct is triggered against an enemy, granting another stack of Conductive.

This leaves us with the question of how to best play Lisa on the field. There are three methods to work with.

  1. First, tap her Elemental Skill and then tap it again. This strings together her Elemental Skills, allowing for a faster and more effective Conductive application.
  2. Second, weave her Elemental Skill in between your standard attacks. This again is an effective way to build different radius' for her Conductive stacks to apply to multiple targets, getting to 3 stacks faster.
  3. Lastly, you hold her Elemental Skill for the second application of it. While this does take time to ‘charge' up, this application of Conductive works best when you already have reactions on the field to create a larger area for her to connect her skill to.

Her Elemental Burst Lightning Rose is a large AoE ring with a lantern in the center of it. This lantern or "rose" strikes enemies constantly within the area with a blast of lightning. This is effect is continuous regardless of if Lisa on or off the field. So using it for reactionary drivers or triggers is best.

Lisa's Best Team Comps

In each of the teams below, Lisa will be played as an off-field swap to apply her conductive stacks and then a reactionary trigger with her Lightning Rose.

4.1.

Lisa Hyperbloom Team

Off-fielder Main DPS Hydro Spreader Dendro Spreader
Lisa Dendro Traveler Xingqiu Nahida

This Hyperbloom team is going to use Xingqiu as a Hydro spreader with his quick recharge on his Elemental skill and Burst to combine with our Dendro users. Nahida will typically be in a fast swap roll, and Dendro Traveler will be our main on-field character. Lisa will is our elemental driver for our Dendro cores and making them transform into missiles with her Lightning Rose. Your goal is to essentially flood the map with Hydro and Dendro attacks to create mass cores then use either of Lisa's element abilities to ignite them with Electro.

4.2.

Lisa Superconduct Team

Off-fielder Off-fielder Main DPS Shielder/Healer/Cryo
Lisa Fischl Neuvillette Diona

This Superconduct is an elemental reaction team with Neuvillette dishing out the heavy DPS. Lisa's role in this team is to build up her Conductive stacks with her Elemental Skill and then save her Elemental Burst ability for after Diona's freeze takes hold of the mobs. There is no set rotation to this team, simply keep Fischl's Nightrider on the field, swap to Lisa for stacks and use Neuvillette to hammer the enemy. Once all your Elemental Burst abilities are ready, chain them together and then swap back to Neuvellette to destroy with his charged attack.

4.3.

Lisa Mono DPS Team

Main DPS Off-fielder Buffer Shielder
Lisa Kaedehara Kazuha Sangonomiya Kokomi Bennett

This mono DPS team revolves around Bennett and Kazuha's buffing abilities, with Lisa playing more of on-field DPS roll. Kokomi is a fantastic addition as a healer and Hydro spreader who can share the on-field time with Lisa. Using Swirl combinations with Bennett's Fantastic Voyage, we can effectively use Lisa and Kokomi's abilities independent of one another, with our other two characters forming the link between each side, similar to a coin. One side will be Lisa's Electro damage, the other side Kokomi's Hydro damage. This build offers a unique fun play style that can really high some decent damage with their respective buffs and elemental reactions.

Almost all of Lisa's constellations are useful, but players are usually after her C2 and C6 to completely invest in off-field abilities. However, Lisa functions fine at C0, but investment into C6 is a very noticeable difference.
