We’re only a week away from patch 11.2 coming to live, and another one before the full Season 3 launch. The PTR builds are getting much less frequent, and we’ve already had a release candidate too! So the specs are really getting close to their final launch form, so it’s time to revisit our DPS tier list!
The DPS Changes
The tier list has been updated after the most recent tuning pass. Frost Death Knight snuck to the very top since the last time we checked in on our tier list (which is updated weekly). We already saw the spec at the top in the choose your main guide. And now it’s No.1 here as well. The biggest change at the top is Marksmanship. It moves 8 spots up, from A+ straight into No.2 in S-tier! It seems there can be only one Hunter at the top, however, as Beast Mastery falls 7 spots. Arcane lost the top spot but didn’t go far, currently sitting in 3rd place. Balance is the big victim of the past few weeks of tuning, as it fell out of S-tier, all the way down to A, dropping a whooping 18 spots!
Elemental is another big winner of the many changes since our last check-in, as it moves to the very top of the A+ tier and 4th place overall. Enhancement stays stable and Havoc rises a little bit, while Fire drops a few spots. Frost Mage is another newcomer after its big buffs, looking to take down its fellow Mage, sitting just in front of the fallen BM. Devastation, Feral, and Affliction all move up into A+ territory as well.

It remains to be seen how much more the specs change in the coming week. There will almost certainly be a big tuning pass during the launch week of the patch before Season 3, however.
