With the Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 3.1 Special Program now behind us, players finally know exactly where their Polychromes can go over the next six weeks. Between two brand-new limited Agents, a rerun, and three anniversary Rescreening banners, Version 3.1 might have one of the strongest banner lineups ZZZ has seen yet.
The good news is that there isn’t really a wrong choice. Every featured Agent brings something different to the table. The harder question is figuring out which one actually adds the most value to your account.
Remielle Dan Looks Like the Safest Long-Term Investment
As the patch’s newest Void Hunter, Remielle immediately stands out as the highlight.
Void Hunters have consistently been among ZZZ’s strongest and longest-lasting characters, and Remielle looks ready to continue that trend. Her off-field Anomaly-focused kit makes her an easy fit for players already invested in the archetype, while her unique Lumiflux mechanic should keep her relevant for a long time. That said, she doesn’t feel like a mandatory pull.
Many players already have Yuzuha, who has spent a long time proving herself as the best Anomaly support in the game. If your account already has a well-built Yuzuha and you aren’t planning to build a second Anomaly team, Remielle becomes much less urgent than she first appears. She’s still an excellent pickup, but more of a luxury upgrade than a necessity.
Sigrid and Aria Offer Strong DPS Options
If you’re looking for a traditional on-field damage dealer, Version 3.1 gives you two excellent choices:
Sigrid arrives as a brand-new Ice Attack Agent built around fast-paced combos, chaining together enhanced attacks for massive burst damage. She looks exactly like who Ice players have been waiting for, but like most dedicated attackers, her long-term value will largely depend on how future damage dealers compare.
Meanwhile, Aria continues to be one of the game’s strongest Ether Anomaly carries. Time has been kind to her: newer teammates like Velina, along with the arrival of Remielle, could give her even stronger team options moving forward. If you missed Aria the first time around, this rerun is still an easy recommendation.
Anniversary Rescreening Banners are Surprisingly Good
The anniversary Rescreening banners may end up being one of Version 3.1’s biggest highlights. Unlike standard limited banners, your first S-Rank is guaranteed to be the featured Agent, meaning you won’t lose a 50/50 until after you’ve already obtained the character. The same guarantee also applies to the featured W-Engine banner, making these reruns significantly less risky than usual.
Of the three returning Agents, Yuzuha is probably the easiest recommendation. She’s remained one of the strongest supports in the game ever since her release and continues to define Anomaly teams months later. If your account doesn’t already have a premium Anomaly support, she’s arguably the highest-value pull (besides Remielle) in the entire patch.
Dialyn isn’t far behind. She’s still one of the most flexible Stunners in ZZZ, fitting into a huge variety of teams while offering utility that has helped her remain relevant through multiple updates. Her ability to enable additional Ultimates outside the Decibels system is a huge deal and remains highly meta relevant.
Harumasa, on the other hand… well he is a much harder sell. His complex playstyle still rewards mastery, but as one of ZZZ’s older Attack Agents, his damage output has gradually been eclipsed by newer releases. He’s still perfectly capable of clearing endgame content. But unless you’re a Harumasa fan, the other banners simply offer better overall value.
So… Where Should Your Polychrome Go?
If you’re looking purely at long-term account value, Yuzuha, Remielle, and Dialyn are the three limited Agents who stand out the most.
Need a premium Ice carry? Sigrid looks like an excellent pickup. Missed one of ZZZ’s best Ether damage dealers? Aria remains just as easy to recommend as she was during her original release.
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Version 3.1’s lineup is that HoYoverse hasn’t really included a bad banner. Instead, the anniversary feels focused on giving players meaningful choices. Whether you’re chasing the newest Void Hunter or finally grabbing a character you’ve been waiting months to pull, there’s a good chance Version 3.1 has a banner that fits your account.
