Elemental Resonances in Genshin Impact

In the world of Genshin Impact, Elemental Resonance is a mechanic that grants bonuses to characters based on the combination of elements in the active party. When you have characters of specific elements in your party, their resonance activates, providing various benefits.

These can be seen in the "Party Setup" screen by pressing the "Elemental Resonance" button in the top right which will display a wheel such as the one below:

In the example above. My team consists of Fischl, Neuvillette, Furina and Jean. Therefore lighting up Hydro, Electro and Anemo. Because there are 2 Hydro characters in this party, I gain the "Soothing Water" Elemental Resonance.

These Elemental Resonances can significantly enhance your team's performance, providing offensive and defensive boosts, as well as utility benefits. For example, Pyro Resonance can increase your overall damage output, while Hydro Resonance can increase your Max HP. Choosing the right Elemental Resonance can complement your team's strategy and playstyle.

Resonances will only be activated when there are 4 or more members in your party. Any less than 4 and these effects will not activate. Characters who have died will however continue counting towards resonances. They also active in co-op mode so you can benefit while running content. Do be warned though, if some party members in co-op are outside of any domains that you run, only the characters inside the domain will be factored into what resonances your party gains.

Which Resonances Are Best to Use in Your Party?

Many players often consider the Pyro Resonance Fervent Flames to be the best Elemental Resonance. This is because of the universal 25% ATK buff it can provide to all party members.

Other poweful Resonances are Soothing Water (Hydro), Shattering Ice (Cryo), Sprawling Greenery (Dendro)and Enduring Rock (Geo).

While not as universally useful as Fervent Flames, these Resonances can often be more powerful with the right teams. For example Shattering Ice with freeze teams.

While the best Resonances depend on who the DPS are in your party, one thing is certain. The "Protective Canopy" resonance is significant worse than any other resonance in the game.
