Lyney Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

The First Great Magic is Lyney's signature weapon and a great fit for nim. Increasing Charged Attack DMG, CRIT DMG, ATK and SPD while also benefiting from additional Pyro characters much like Lyney and their Conclusive Ovation Passive. Some great 4-star weapons include Scion of the Blazing Sun, Range Gauge and Song of Stillness.

Marechaussee Hunter is by far Lyney's best artifact set boasting huge CRIT Rate increases. Because of this, you want to ensure that your Circlet is CRIT DMG instead so that you do not overcap on CRIT Rate. 64% CRIT Rate is the maximum before Marechausse to give you 100% Rate. This means that if your CRIT Rate from artifact rolls is very low, you can have it as your Circlet. Just keep the 64% base number in mind. Lyney wants around 120-150% Energy Recharge.

Normal Attack is by far the most important talent to level. Lyney's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are roughly similar in value.

Lyney's gameplay is centred around his Charged Attacks. Depending on how long you hold the attack for, different effects will take place. Generally you want to hold it to the second level to summon a Grin-Malkin Hat and also to consume HP for Marechaussee Hunter's passive.

The Grin-Malkin Hat can taunt enemies keeping their attention away from you. This makes it much easier to attack! The hat will also deal AoE Pyro DMG once destroyed or when the duration expires. This can even occur when Lyney is off-field.

Lyney's Elemental Skill Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade turns Lyney into a Grin-Malkin Cat that can move around the field and deal Pyro DMG. At the end of the duration or if triggered using your Elemental Skill button, the cat will deal AoE Pyro DMG and summon a Grin-Malkin Hat.

Many people may think Lyney can only be ran in Mono-Pyro team compositions. While it is often his best team, there are some powerful Vaporize teams as well as fun Overload teams that have recently been possible with the character releases of Furina and Chevreuse.

Mono-Pyro Lyney teams always want Bennett because of how good he is providing ATK Buffs and Healing. Outside of that Pyro characters or Elements which do not remove any Pyro aura on enemies are useful. Any of the 8 characters listed can perform well in this team with Kaedehara Kazuha, Zhongli and Xiangling being the best 3.

Vaporize teams with Furina lower Lyney's personal damage but can make up for it with Furina's damage buff from her Elemental Burst alongside reaction damage. Bennett helps to provide Resonance, ATK buffs and also supports Lyney's A4 passive.

Zhongli is the comfy option here making it much easier to attack without being interrupted. Xiangling instead brings increased DMG and Pyro application or Kaedehara Kazuha brings CC and also Pyro RES Shred.
