News Writers

We Are Hiring News Writers at Icy Veins

We are looking for news writers to join us and cover the various games on our site. This role is best suited for individuals who are already deep into the games they would be writing about, naturally keeping up with latest developments such as patch notes, development updates, and community news.

What's In It For You

You will be part of a working editorial team. You will have experienced editors and writers around you, which means real feedback, real standards, and a real chance to get better at this job.

This is a paid position with the possibility of full-time work, depending on your output. Multiple news writers on our team are working full-time in this position.

Who We Are Looking For

  • You do not need to be a native speaker, but strong command of written English is a must.
  • You actively play the games you would be covering and understand them beyond surface level.
  • You can keep up a steady news output, ideally multiple posts per week. If you are thinking about writing one article a month, this probably is not the right fit.
  • You are flexible with your schedule. We sometimes cover live events, interviews, and breaking news, which means being available at certain hours to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Previous writing experience is a big plus.
  • You absorb feedback well and apply it fast.
  • You are open to covering more than one game if needed.
  • You are comfortable using Discord, WordPress, and Notion as part of your daily workflow.
  • You write your own stuff. We check, and AI-generated content will not make it past review.
