Parenting while playing WoW can be tough sometimes...

Recommended Posts

As a new parent I've had to come up with all sorts of creative ways to make sure my little is amused so daddy has his brief chance to login and do blood elf stuffz.

I've set up an old VHS player in my gaming room to entertain her with some of my best childhood stories. My kid loves Pikachu! (Proud dad here!)

Sometimes her interruptions are cute and the stream gets to enjoy the brighter moments of parenthood. Other times she gets super pissed and smashes my keyboard, mid-raid, because the first pokémon movie is rewinding on the VHS... (Our kids will never know the joys of trolling the next person to watch a VHS tape by putting the movie at the very end to show crucial spoilers, "le sigh"...)

Today she decided to be cute/annoying during the stream. Managed to get it caught on tape for everyone to enjoy!

I want to hear your parenting gaming fails, or wins! I think the kiddos can make streaming very interesting at times. I wish there were more twitch streamers who had kids. I feel like a loner! Lol

Back when Culling of Stratholme was released and the timed run was still a challenge for the mount and the extra badge I joined a "pro" group as healer.

Little girl was about 12months old and sat in her high chair having some fruit next to me, babbling away.

Halfway through the run (time was ok but couldnt risk a wipe) she projectile vomited everywhere - all over my desk keyboard etc and obviously I had to stop right there and sort her out.

Just said in /p "omg kid sick gtg" - got so much rage off the group because I'd messed their chance of the mount that day :P

Oooooh! Thats awesome! I remember that mount run! It was difficult for about the first half of the Xpan just because most ppl didnt know the fights. Good times! Its amazing how much vomit can be stored inside that tiny little body, right?

My daughter is 7 now and I've been playing for almost 3 years. Now it's not so difficult to play the game, but in the past, I normally had to log out during a conversation in game with a friend because my daughter would sometimes get into things she's not supposed to. Those kinds of things were signs that I needed to leave and do something with her. Now its not so bad at all. Since she's 7 I let her play a few of my toons regardless if they die because she doesn't really know how to play. In my old guild, she'd try and talk to my other guild members in vent and they'd laugh because she would say the most weird and funny things a 7 year old could come up with.

Occasionally I'd go afk and leave the game going, then come back to find I am some where else or dead because my daughter would take over lol

Hey Dude.

I think that helps your stream so much.  I'm not a watcher, but it shows that your human.  And I can sincerely relate to being human (pretty much we all can).

Its good to see the other side of people - when they're not playing the game.  IMO a steam is 40% about the person steaming and the rest is up to the gameplay and class and such.

Its a super welcome interruption :).  Even when shes pissed off.

Thanks! :) I'm glad its welcomed. I was worried I'd come off as a lame old dude with a kid and nobodu would be interested in me.

It can be really funny when shes pissed off. I feel like a bad parent if I let her stay too mad sometimes. But it is amusing nonetheless.

She literally hulk smashed my keyboard during a guild raid once. Which caused her to deathgrip the boss... Unfortunately it was off stream. Wish I woulda caught it!

The Siege of Orgrimmar raid and Mists of Pandaria World Bosses are on a daily lockout in Patch 10.2.7.
We're not sure if the change is intended or a MoP Remix feature, but somehow, daily lockouts for SoO and MoP World Bosses have slipped through to live servers even before the event's starts on May 16. Maybe this is a way to give retail players more chances on Tusks of Mannoroth since you can buy them directly from a vendor during MoP Remix.
If you're farming Garrosh, don't forget there is a skip at the beginning of the raid. As you enter, interact with the scroll on the wall.

Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab for Monks in the War Within, making Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon!
We've got some great news for all Monk players out there. In the War Within expansion, Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab that makes Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon, instead of your fists.

In the past, Glyph of Jab was a minor glyph used by monks, designed to ensure that the Jab ability was executed with hands and fist animations even when non-fist weapons were equipped. You will find more details here.

Isle of Dorn (Zone 1 Level Up Questing)
Chapter 1: Breaking Point Chapter 2: Earthen Fissures Chapter 3: The First Blow The Ringing Deeps (Zone 2 Level Up Questing)
