wow WoW Patch 6.1 Hotfixes - Feb 25, 2015

1 post in this topic

11060-wow-patch-61-hotfixes-feb-25-2015.

Blizzard released a series of hotfixes yesterday to various errors that cropped up after Patch 6.1 was released on Tuesday, as well as some minor tweaks to a handful of Blackrock Foundry encounters.

The original post (and any potential further updates) are available on the WoW blog.

Hotfixes as published follow:

February 25

Classes

  • Tanking Specializations no longer generate threat from heals.
  • Fixed an issue where threat dropping abilities were sometimes incorrectly removing crowd-control effects.
  • Fixed an issue where images summoned by Spectral Guise (Priest Talent) or Mirror Image (Mage) would incorrectly retain threat when resummoned.

  • Druid
    • General
      • Shifting in-and-out of Cat Form should now correctly reapply Cat Form's speed bonus while Dash or Stampeding Roar is active.
      • Fixed an issue where various item effects that provides a buff based on the player's highest stat sometimes picked the wrong stat for Balance and Restoration Druids that were shapeshifted into Bear Form or Cat Form.
      • Fixed an issue where Ferocious Bite may consume more Energy than intended when the ability Multistrikes.
    • Talents
      • Bloodtalons (Feral) should no longer incorrectly consume a charge if the attack misses, is dodged, or parried.
  • Mage
    • Talents
      • Prismatic Crystal should no longer be incorrectly affected by friendly auras that reduces damage taken.
  • Monk
    • General
      • Tiger Strikes should no longer incorrectly activate on unsuccessful autoattacks, but will be able to activate from successful Multistrikes. Fixing this will result in an overall damage gain for all Monks, so there are a couple of additional adjustments (see below). Additionally, Tiger Strikes should now correctly provide the full 10% chance to trigger for Mistweavers in Crane Stance while equipping one-handed items in conjunction with off-hand items. For more details of this change, please visit the forum thread: Upcoming Tiger Strikes Hotfix.
        • Keg Smash (Brewmaster) now deals 20% less damage.
        • Rising Sun Kick (Windwalker, Mistweaver) now causes enemies to take 20% increased damage from the Monk's abilities (up from 10%).
        • The tooltip for Tiger Strikes is incorrectly stating that the chance for it to activate is 6.25% while dual-wielding. The actual chance is 5% (and has been since Warlords of Draenor released). The tooltip will be corrected in a future patch.
    • Talents
      • Fixed an issue with Chi Torpedo that caused it to deal no damage unless the Glyph of Water Roll was applied.
  • Paladin
    • Glyphs
      • Glyph of Holy Shock now decreases the healing of Holy Shock by 25% and increases its damage by 25% (down from a 50% decrease to healing and 50% increase to damage).
  • Priest
    • Talents
      • Saving Grace (Discipline, Holy) should now correctly reduce absorbs done (was incorrectly reducing absorption taken).
    • Armor Sets
      • PvP 2-piece set bonus effect for Shadow Priests is now removed at the beginning of a boss encounter. The set bonus will still work during the encounter.
  • Rogue
    • Armor Sets
      • PvP 4-piece set bonus for Combat Rogues should now provide the correct set bonus for Cold Blood. Note that the tooltip will incorrectly display text for the old set bonus and will be fixed in a future client-side patch.
    • Bug Fixes
      • Fixed an issue that could allow the effects of Master of Subtlety to persist longer than intended.
      • Attacking targets immediately after Vanish transitions to Stealth should now correctly remove Stealth and trigger Subterfuge.
  • Shaman
    • Enhancement
      • Fire Nova should now work correctly with Flurry. Additionally, Fire Nova should have its global cooldown reduced by haste.
    • Armor Sets
      • PvP 2-piece set bonus for Elemental Shaman should now correctly provide immunity to silence and interrupt effects while Ascendance is active.

Garrisons, Followers, and Outposts

  • Garrison Campaign Quests
    • Bringing the Bass: Lumbering Ancient can now be tapped by multiple players. Loot from the creature has been temporarily removed.
    • New Goods (Alliance version): Fixed an issue where Lieutenant Thorn was not offering this quest to eligible players.
  • Garrison Buildings
    • Mine, Level 2 (Horde): Fixed an issue where some of the ore nodes were spawning in the air.

Quests

  • Frostfire Ridge
    • The Battle of Thunder Pass: Fixed an issue where players dying during the battle may sometimes be unable to complete the quest.
  • Nagrand
    • Shields Down!: Players should now receive credit for interacting with the Arkonite Crystal and be able to complete the quest.

Raids and Dungeons

  • Blackrock Foundry
    • General
      • Ogron Hauler no longer hits targets while casting Overhead Smash and Overhead Smash now increase Physical damage taken by 100% (down from a 200% increase) on Raid Finder difficulty.
      • Slagshop Brute now pauses for 2-seconds after using Lumbering Strength.
    • The Blast Furnace
      • Phase 1
        • Adds in the encounter should now be more immediately responsive to threat generation upon jumping into the encounter space.
        • Furnace Engineer's Repair ability now heals Heat Regulators' health every 1.5 seconds (up from every 1 second). Additionally, Furnace Engineers should no longer instantly cast Repair if they're in the middle of casting Electrocution or Bomb.
      • Phase 2
        • Firecaller's Volatile Fire now hits up to a maximum of 2 targets on Raid Finder difficulty, and 3 targets on Normal and Heroic difficulty.
        • Slag Elemental's nameplates now go away when they are Dormant.
        • Multiple Slag Elementals should no longer Fixate on the same player.
    • Flamebender Ka'graz
      • The fight should now reset when a Cinder Wolf is moved outside the encounter area.
      • Flamebender Ka'graz's Charring Breath and Lava Slash should now be correctly removed after an encounter reset.
    • Kromog
      • Players under the effects of Rune of the Grasping Hand should no longer take damage or stunned by Rune of Crushing Earth.
    • Beastlord Darmac
      • Beastlord Darmac's Pin Down ability should now deal damage in a radius of 25 yards around the spear impacts rather than around Darmac. Additionally, visuals for the attack should no longer be sometimes hidden by the floor.
      • Visuals for Spirit of the Rylak's Superheated Shrapnel and Dreadwing's Inferno Breath should now more accurately display the abilities' area of effect.
    • Operator Thogar
      • Fixed an issue where the door leading to Operator Thogar may fail to open if the raid wipes shortly after starting the encounter.
    • Blackhand
      • Blackhand should now correctly create a Slag Crater beneath the target of his Massive Shattering Smash.
      • Visuals for Blackhand's Shattering Smash and Massive Shattering Smash should now be visible with Projected Textures disabled.
  • Legacy
    • Throne of the Four Winds, Conclave of Wind: Fixed an issue where players may be unable to receive loot if their pet lands the killing blow on Conclave of Wind.

PvP

  • Ashran
    • Gleaming Ashmaul Strongbox no longer contains Primal Aspirant's gear (item level 600). Gleaming Ashmaul Strongbox now contains only Primal Combatant's gear (item level 620) with a small chance for Primal Gladiator's gear (item level 660) and Flask of Conquest.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

  • Battlegrounds
    • Warsong Gulch: Fixed an issue where players entering a match that's in-progress will cause the character to have 1 health and be displayed as dead.
  • Arenas
    • Fixed an issue where players were incorrectly awarded two Steel Lockboxes for completing a 3v3 and 5v5 skirmish.

Items

  • Blackrock Ham's well fed bonus should now correctly provide a buff to Critical Strike.
  • Dread Pirate Ring should correctly provide a bonus to Stamina, Critical Strike, and Haste once more (was incorrectly set to Intelligence, Stamina, and Critical Strike).

    • Fixed a server crash during the daily quest reset.
  • Items
    • Fixed an issue where Alliance players were unable to purchase the Battle Pet, Clock'em.

The micro-holiday takes you back to Borean Tundra's Winterfin Retreat. It will be live on April 5.
Murlocs have been a symbol of World of Warcraft since the game's beginning. During the micro-holiday, you can adopt any murloc and complete quests with him. When you arrive at Winterfin Retreat, you'll notice plenty of murlocs running around like crazy.

Talk to King Mrgl-Mrgl and pick up the quest Adopt a Tadpole.

Afterwards, go and talk to any murloc you wish to adopt, there are many,  I picked Flops.

Complete the quest and your tadpole will give you another quest, where you must collect 10 Winterfin Clams (most of them can be found in the water). The quest is called "A Tadpole's Request".

Next you will accept the quest "The Ways of the World". The objective is to kill Mrrga. The mob's Health is scaled to Level 110, the murlocs in the water where you collect clams are only 70+.

After you slay the beast, there's a final quest called "A Gift From Your Tadpole". It's a blue (daily?) quest and you receive a Tadpole Gift with various trash items! I received a Wet Rock.

That's it for the March of the Tadpoles micro-holiday.

      Hello!
Were a newer raiding squad that feels we need some more like minded people for our raid team. I'm filling out my squad for mythic content and am currently looking for ranged DPS and healers especially. Any class is more then welcome to apply and or contact me in game. We like to have fun and enjoy our raids. We have a discord channel like everyone else and just want to push ourselves over the edge. That means I need you. We won't micro manage you or kick you from the guild cause your DPS is 10k short of what is expected at your Ilevel. We understand. It's all about improving. We believe in the whole being greater then the sum of the parts or whatever else non sense sounds enticing. Were a progression team and know heroic well. I'm just tired of pugs when I could have some guildmates instead. We will help you gear and get better. If you like PvP we have people for that as well.
We raid on Tues and Thurs at 8:30PM to 11:30PM EST. Monday is optional at the same times.
You can either respond to this message or message me in game.
      Thank you for your time,
      Xose

      ==RAIDTIDER==
      ==PROGRESS==
      ==AMBITIONER OCH MÅL/STRÄVAN==
      ==LEDNINGEN==
I ledningen sitter officers med över 10 års erfarenhet av World of Warcraft.
      ==VAD VI SÖKER==

Patch 7.1.5 brings heavy changes to some classes and the developer team discusses with the community the latest class changes.
The latest class changes can be found here.
      Hunter (Marksmanship)
      Sigma
There's a lot to discuss here--some we agree with and some we don't--but I want to swing by at least on this specific observation. We agree we don't want a major breakpoint between 2 and 3 Aimed Shots after a Marked Shot (at least, not at a middling amount like 21% haste that will affect gear choice throughout the expansion). We're not decided on a fix yet; in particular, whether the standard amount should be two Aimed Shots after a Marked Shot, or three (if two, it would still be okay to have three during Bloodlust and similar situations). The ability would be tuned around whichever option. Two has some advantages like concentrating the Vulnerable burst more, requiring standing still for less time to fully utilize it, and potentially having enough leeway for an instant before one of the Aimed Shots.

      Hey all,
Just to reiterate here (saw it brought up in the Live Q&A chat today), but we are aware of feedback regarding both Storm, Earth, and Fire and Serenity on the 7.1.5 PTR.
I don't have anything specific for this moment, but know that we've passed along notes on both of these skills to the development team. We will update you once we have more to share.
Thank you for a response - any response.
Please, though, don't let this be like what happened on the 7.1 ptr and the Demon Hunters, where we got this exact sort of message, and then silence. Last time, when that happened, I rerolled to monk. I'm so anxious it will happen yet again. Not necessarily our goal, and I'm not saying we have any changes planned for these two skills within 7.1.5's PTR cycle (I am not sure what's on the plate there for further Monk changes), but I would like to at least work to get something shared on this, whether its a bit of philosophy or otherwise.
We have had some communication shortcomings over the past while, but we are trying something a bit new with our internal processes which should benefit us all in the long-term. :) He also mentioned that they will be taking a look at Serenity, just as a note!
Edit: Here's a link to the portion of the Q&A where Ion and Josh talked about Storm, Earth, and Fire and Serenity.

      Shaman (Enhancement)
      Lore
Boulderfist is intended as a talent choice that creates some gaps in your rotation, by replacing your no-cooldown resource builder with something that’s overall stronger, but has charges. In 7.1, the recharge time isn’t long enough for those gaps to ever actually happen, especially with the most popular Enhancement talent build adding several more active abilities to your rotation. Its power level was also simply too high, and in this case, we’d rather let this talent have its intended effect on the pace of your rotation and buff the spec as a whole to compensate.

Our intent is that if you want to use an ability every GCD, you should choose one of the other options in that row. Boulderfist should result in an overall more methodical pace that is more about having a little time to plan upcoming abilities. When Boulderfist is the hands-down best option in that row, that doesn’t feel like much of a choice, and as we continue tuning for 7.1.5, we hope to address this by bringing it in line with the others.
While I can appreciate that there was an original design intent behind Boulderfist, the spec as it currently exists on Live is as enjoyable to play as it's ever been since I rolled my Shaman back in BC.

We've heard it reiterated over and over (and over) again by the developers that if something about a spec felt too mandatory, it would just get rolled into the spec. I play this spec as my main because it is fun; if I cared strictly about maximum overall damage output, I'd focus on my Rogue instead. Changing a mechanic like this runs counter to the design philosophy that's been so oft repeated.
Thanks for all the feedback; this has been a consistent theme throughout the thread and elsewhere. And we don't want to disrupt the familiar playstyle of 7.1 Enhancement, if in fact the specific pacing of Boulderfist's recharge time is a major part of what makes it work so well. We will still have to address the power level in some way without diluting the feel that's been discussed here. We are currently planning the following for PTR (uncertain on timing):
Boulderfist recharge time back to 6 seconds Boulderfist no longer gives a bonus to critical strike Rockbiter generates 20 Maelstrom (from 15) (Source)
      Warlocks
      Sigma
That's all fine and dandy, now get to work fixing warlocks.
Incidentally--Imp/Succubus/Voidwalker/Felhunter/Felguard all deal 20% more damage. Most of that was datamined normally, but in particular, the increase to Felguard's attack power likely was not (simply because it's something that happens server-side).

I can think of one other thing worth calling attention to for feedback/testing that may have been missed: Mark of the Ancient Priestess and Mark of the Distant Army should do noticeably more healing/damage and be more worth using. Some of the stat-based neck enchants were also increased, but that will be clear in tooltips. Hidden Satyr scales correctly with gear now as well, and may be slightly weaker, but for the most part the other enchants were buffed to roughly its level.
