Ret pally seeking wep. Advice (2 replies to this topic)

Hey all,

Just wanted to get some advice and input on a weapon choice. My name is
Gaurdians ( http://us.battle.net...aurdians/simple ). I am currently using (
http://www.wowhead.com/item=86905 ) with the 500 sha touched gem and windsong.

However in 25 man me I recently acquired ( http://www.wowhead.com/item=86140 ) the 489 starshatter. This sword is an obvious upgrade in all areas however I lose about 400 str (while sword in unenchanted or not upgraded).

I am wondering which will be better for my overall dps? I do have a nice stash of VP so I can upgrade either, and am able to get dancing steel if it's worth putting on one!

Starshatter will be better in mostly every scenario. Ret paladins weapon dps scale is stupidly high so you should always aim for a higher ilvl even at the expense of strength. One thing you should know though is that the normal version of the sha touched wep is better than a fully upgraded starshatter normal.

From what I've seen so far the higher iLvl always wins.  If you are able to get the normal sha touched wep then that's your best bet, otherwise starshatter will hold you over until the next tier.
