Council of Elders

Useful talents:Useful glyphs: share your thoughts!

Tips and Tricks:

  • Use ability_druid_typhoon.jpgTyphoon to knock back the Loa Spirits if they are too close to their target. Use ability_druid_bash.jpgMighty Bash to stun them as well.
  • Use focus on the other tank to see the spell_mage_frostbomb.jpgFrostbite stacks from Malakk. Taunt at 8-10 stacks max.
  • If you are tanking Sul when he's empowered, the Living Sands will come for you. Use spell_druid_incarnation.jpgIncarnation to burn them down with AoE.
  • It is possible to tank Sul and Malakk almost the entire fight. ability_racial_cannibalize.jpgSavage Defense will allow a Druid, when the rage is maintained properly, to dodge enough of Malakk's inv_axe_1h_pvpcataclysms3_c_01.jpgFrigid Assault ability to not get stunned. When doing that, it is quite difficult, but possible, to picking the sand adds and tank them. Also, remember that you can make a inv_misc_bone_taurenskull_01.jpgSkull Bash macro with focus to interrupt Sul while tanking Malakk.

Tips and Tricks:

  • If you are tanking the adds, spell_druid_tirelesspursuit.jpgFeline Swiftness will help you reach them before they kill players. Jumping up into the air and using spell_druid_thrash.jpgThrash can also help gain aggro before they hit the ground.

Megaera

Tips and Tricks:

  • When the Flaming and the Venomous Heads are up, they are far away from each other. To make the tank switch faster, use spell_druid_stampedingroar_cat.jpgStampeding Roar.
  • If you have a lot of stacks of spell_fire_burnout.jpgIgnite Flesh and you are about to tank the Poisonous Head, be ready to use your cooldowns because there will be a lot of damage.
  • During the last Rampage phases, you can help your healers. Use spell_holy_blessingofagility.jpgHeart of the Wild, pop spell_nature_tranquility.jpgTranquility, and spam spell_nature_rejuvenation.jpgRejuvenation (you can do it in Bear form while Heart of the Wild is active) on low level players.

Hi, have some tips and talents for few fights

Council of Elders

Useful talents: Typhoon, Mighty bash

tips: use typhoon to knock back loa spirits if they are to cloose to the lowest boss, and bash to stun them as well. I use focus on the other tank to see the frost bite stacks that Malak put on him, and taunt when he's 8-10 max. If you are tanking Sul when he's empowered, the living sands will come for you, then is a good moment to use Incarnation to burn them with aoe.

Megaera

tips: when flaming head and venom head are up, they are far away one to each other, to make a tank swap fast, its a good time to use the stampeding roar before taunting the other head. If you have the flaming dot debuff, and gonna tank green, use your cds there because will be a lot of dmg.

During rampage you can help your healers, using Hotw and pop tranquility, and spam rejuvenation on low players (remember spam in bear form to reduce inc dmg), use this on 5 or 6 rampage when dmg is very high.

Durumu the Forgotten

Tips: When tanking Durumu, pool some rage right before he applies spell_shadow_bloodboil.jpgArterial Cut on you, then quickly pop ability_bullrush.jpgFrenzied Regeneration for insta-dispel (unless you're dangerously low on HP).

Ji-kun

Useful talents: spell_druid_wildcharge.jpgWild Charge

Useful Glyphs: inv_glyph_majordruid.jpgGlyph of Stampeding Roar

Tips: Use spell_druid_stampedingroar_cat.jpgStampeding Roar when Ji-kun casts ability_druid_galewinds.jpgDown Draft. inv_glyph_majordruid.jpgGlyph of Stampeding Roar helps when players in the main platform are spread out.

If you get too far apart from Ji-kun during ability_druid_galewinds.jpgDown Draft, use spell_druid_wildcharge.jpgWild Charge to get back to melee range.

If your healers are having trouble during ability_hunter_pet_dragonhawk.jpgQuills, have your co-tank taunt Ji-kun and use spell_nature_tranquility.jpgTranquility.

I'll try to keep this post updated.

Tortos - If dealing with the adds, you can talent into spell_druid_tirelesspursuit.jpgFeline Swiftness to reach them before they kill players, jumping up into the air and usingspell_druid_thrash.jpgThrash can also help gain aggro before they hit the ground.

Useful Talents: spell_druid_tirelesspursuit.jpgFeline Swiftness

Durumu - When getting spell_shadow_bloodboil.jpgArterial Cut , dedicate all rage towards Frenzied Regeneration until fully healed, instead of using on Savage Defense.

Pop Stampeding Roar during the maze when you notice players are falling behind, also use inv_glyph_majordruid.jpgGlyph of Stampeding Roar if your raid takes multiple paths.

I realize that I might be new but I would like to note something on the Council. A bear can easily tank Sul/Malekk almost the entire fight.ability_racial_cannibalize.jpgSavage Defense will allow a druid when the rage is maintained properly to dodge enough of Malekk's Frigid Assault ability to not get stunned. The only issue that I run into is when I have to go pick up the sand add's which just means you need to be on your game. Hope this help's some of the people wondering about easier ways.

P.S.

You can interupt sul while tanking malekk with a focus macro.

Perhaps, as a rage build bear with 100% uptime on Savage Defense I haven't been so lucky, considering frigid assault applied 30 times if you remain still.

Horridon:

spell_druid_wildcharge.jpgWild Charge is going to be your talent of choice, both for tank swapping and add control. The cast time of Double Swipe is long enough that Feline Swiftness is not necessary in order to dodge it.

spell_druid_ursolsvortex.jpgUrsol's Vortex is excellent in this fight when you are on adds. When a new set of adds spawns, I drop it on the mobs I'm currently tanking while I go pick up the new ones. When the adds affected by the Vortex try to follow me, they get not only snared, but also yanked back into place. This helps DPS uptime and helps to reduce your damage intake as well.

As a Guardian, you should use your DPS cooldowns on adds phases. achievement_zone_feralas.jpgNature's Vigil and ability_druid_berserk.jpgBerserk are helpful for the smart heals and burst DPS when there are 3 targets active. Because of the encounter's timing, you will be able to use Berserk on every other door.

spell_druid_incarnation.jpgIncarnation can be used in a couple of different ways. You can use it on the adds to spam inv_misc_monsterclaw_03.jpgSwipe, or you can use it on the tank swap to establish threat by applying 3 stacks of ability_druid_lacerate.jpgLacerate before you drag the dinosaur to the next door. If you time it really well, you could do both! Just as with Berserk, this will be usable on every other door.

There are also some glyphs that are potentially helpful in this encounter. inv_glyph_majordruid.jpgGlyph of Stampeding Roar is excellent for door transitions if you are having trouble downing all the adds within the 40 second window before the next door. inv_glyph_majordruid.jpgGlyph of Fae Silence gives you a silence on a 15-second cooldown that can be very useful on the doors. It also has the effect of freeing up GCD's to use abilities that require a GCD, like ability_druid_enrage.jpgEnrage or spell_nature_ravenform.jpgNature's Swiftness, so I think in general it's quite an underrated glyph.

After downing Council in one day of progression for our guild group, I can say confidently: if you are a Guardian Druid on this fight, you should be tanking Malakk and Sul. Interrupt Sul on cooldown and keep Savage Defense up. You will dodge so many melee attacks that inv_axe_1h_pvpcataclysms3_c_01.jpgFrigid Assault will keep falling off, greatly improving your uptime and survivability and negating any need to tank-swap.

Tortos:

spell_holy_blessingofagility.jpgHeart of the Wild provides some extra Stamina for tanking the bats, which is helpful since they will heal if your health falls too low. You can also activate it to nuke at the beginning and the end of the fight when you have nothing to tank. Can be very useful for getting that problematic first turtle down low enough.

Megaera: On our kill, I alternated Flaming and Frozen heads and took ability_druid_dreamstate.jpgDream of Cenarius. There is a lot of elemental damage, and the extra self-healing from high-Vengeance ability_bullrush.jpgFrenzied Regeneration is excellent. I sustained 18k HPS, which was as much as our Death Knight spamming his Death Strike, vs. 6k-8k on a typical boss fight without the talent.

Ji-Kun: spell_holy_blessingofagility.jpgHeart of the Wild must have been tailor-made for this boss. The first tank phase lasts exactly 45 seconds before you have to swap, so you can have the other tank pull, prepot, use HotW, Cat Form, and Berserk and HotW will run out just as you need to taunt. I was #1 DPS with about 160k until I took over the bird. It also caused a bit of a spooky moment when I was cat-tanking for a couple of seconds, but I survived. :) You should also be able to use it again with Bloodlust at the end of the fight as well.

inv_glyph_majordruid.jpgGlyph of Survival Instincts ensures you will always have SI for the second application of Talon Rake.

In general, I've found the later bosses heavily favor a high-Stamina build. The excellent conversion rate on this stat and the potential for high spike, particularly on Durumu and Iron Qon, makes gemming and enchanting for Stamina the strongest way to improve your survivability in these encounters. After that, it hardly even seems to matter how you reforge except to get slightly more DPS or slightly smoother damage intake. Also, I've taken to using Heart of the Wild as the default for pretty much any encounter because of the passive stat boost and potential for burst DPS.

Iron Qon: Glyph of Stampeding Roar will save lives. I always run with this glyph, but it's amazing for the tornado phase if you can use it when everyone is still grouped. The damage types are mixed, so favor using your Rage on Tooth & Claw and Frenzied Regeneration.

Twin Consorts: High magical damage; forego other Rage dumps and use Frenzied Regeneration. We only needed two pulls on them, so as far as I'm concerned, nothing extra-fancy is really required.

Lei Shen: Use Dash when you are affected by Decapitate and run like hell (since you'll be in Cat Form). It should last long enough to get safely away, get hit for 100k, and then still have some time on Dash left over to run back. Glyphing Dash will not be of any use. Use Glyph of Stampeding Roar to help the raid get in place for intermissions. Glyph of Cat Form is useful for the intermissions so you can use Cat Form to benefit from the improved movement speed, and also to make using your Heart of the Wild cooldown safer. Otherwise, use your cooldowns freely, since there really isn't any alpha strike that is strong enough to kill you unless you're already low. Damage-wise, this is Patchwerk, with almost nothing but physical damage coming in on the tank, so keep Savage Defense up as much as possible. The exception is the last phase, during which you should switch to using FR.

      Hi Team
I am recently returning from a few years away from the game and I have decided to go back to my much loved main throughout wrath, the feral druid. I have always been a cut above the rest and managed to be top dps all through wrath.
I was reading your guide and noticed in the talents you don't take savage roar. Can you explain the match behind this as to me it seems like the more viable option.

Hello everyone! When i downloaded the recent shadowlands expansion, i noticed that my macros no longer worked =0. This is not a single target DPS  macro, this is a Help / Harm selective macro So i did some digging to find out what was goin on, An example of this would be : /cast [help] Innervate ; [harm] Entangling Roots ; Innervate.  This macro utilizes one button for a dual purpose. if i am targeted on friend i innervate them while if i and targeting a opponent it would root them in place. This structure is now broken but has also made things easier in most cases, After doing some digging i discovered some new macros and the new format. Some examples of the new way to write this would be :
       #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]innervate
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Regrowth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Wrath
      #showtooltip
      /cast [harm,nodead][@target,harm,nodead]Moonfire
      /cast [help,nodead][@target,help,nodead]Rejuvenation
      #showtooltip
      /cast [help,nodead][help,nodead]Wild Growth
      /cast [harm,nodead][harm,nodead]Entangling Roots
This is what they call a fall through macro, If the first line of code is not available because of a cooldown or if the Help or Harm selection, it will fall through to the next line of code. This works especially well for balance druids, shaman, and hybrid healing classes that use a ton of buttons. You can cut the amount of keys you need press in half which saves space and prevents accidentally pressings the wrong button. I like to pair my spells by the time it takes to cast, Instant casts with instant casts. They also introduces a mouse over macro for heals and rebuffs which is really good for world PVP. One of the better macros iv'e seen is a mouse over Rebirth :
       #showtooltip Rebirth
      /cast [@mouseover,help]Rebirth;Rebirth
      #showtooltip Remove Corruption
      /cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][target=target] Remove Corruption

If you are going to try and make your own macro, you should keep in mind
1: The Global Cool Down or GCD which is the time it takes between 2 casts and
2: Not all of your spells and trinkets share a GCD, so you are able to cast 2 or 3 spells at the exact same time as long as it doesn't share a GCD.
      I hope this helps!
