Warcraft Movie: Gul'dan and Durotan Spotlight Videos, Yogscast Cameo, Reception

USA Today concluded its week of presenting the protagonists of Warcraft with its videos on Gul'dan and Durotan. Now, all we need to do is wait for the movie to be released worldwide!

The Gul'dan featurette was released yesterday. We see the evil warlock, portrayed by Daniel Wu, siphoning the life out of his victims. In my opinion, Gul'dan doesn't come across as evil as he actually is. Obviously, this is just a 1-minute video and in the movie he is probably the badass we all love.

The noble Durotan is the last character to be introduced. The video features some amazing CGI, as well as the whole process of capturing Toby Kebbell's expressions: they actually drew 150 dots on his face each time!

As we reported previously, starting today you can buy the official soundtrack of the movie on iTunes. The whole album costs $9.99 and it is composed by Ramin Djawadi, also known for writing the music of Game of Thrones and several popular movies.

The Yogscast had a hilarious video of their visit to the Warcraft movie set. There, they took directions from director Duncan Jones and actors Toby Kebbell and Rob Kazinsky.

Last time, we also talked about the reactions and the reviews for the movie last time. There is nothing new to report: more or less, critics are being quite negative about it, whereas fans absolutely love it. What's important is that a lot of people see it, so that fans can get the rest of the trilogy Duncan Jones has envisioned. On that front, we have some very good news! In Germany, Warcraft had the best launch day of the year (source), while in China it is expected to be one of the most best-selling movies ever (source).

If you have watched the movie, let us know what you think of it! Personally, I still have to wait ten more days for it!

I meant to add this in the article, but currently articles with tweets are so buggy so I didn't dare breaking it.

Variety also reports that Warcraft had a very strong opening in 11 countries, grossing out 9.3 million dollars!

the movie sold based on the hype and the strong build up since last year announcement i stay at a neutral  verdict towards the movie and i had my fare share of mixed reviews starting from hard core fans to people who just love good entertainment over all but regarding the best selling and best opening across regions is basically built on the anticipation rather than the reviews from people/critics or what quality this movie holds but what am relieved  about is that they did not ruin the legacy and the philosophy of what warcraft tend to produce so as far as am concerned its all good

Definitely, reviews aren't tied to how much a movie sells, although they can definitely affect it on a smaller scale.

Like you said, it's all the hype and the build-up and fans waiting for it. It's also the first big movie of the summer and it's lucky that there is no other movie (like a superhero movie) that has been scheduled to release at the same time.

Didn't they actually change the release date so it didn't clash with a superhero movie? BvS maybe?

@Blainie

It was supposed to be released during the same week as Star Wars VII back in December (that would have been a disaster). Then they put it on March, then - I don't know why - they delayed it for end of May/beginning of June.

Blizzard have clarified that the recent concern over addon limitations in patch 10.2.7 is merely a bug and is being worked on.
      RP Addons (Source)
it’s looking like in 10.2.7 PTR the addon comms (something primarily used for addons like the insanely popular addon TRP3 used by Roleplayers) is going to be severely rate-limited server-side, making them effectively unusable. This is going to disproportionately affect the RP community and Blizzard should have communicated this much earlier in the development cycle.
The author of TRP3 has stated they have been looking for a solution but as of right now, there won’t be one come patch day which will kill the addon and many other addons as well. Blizzard, please roll back these changes! - Êruaran
We’ve identified the bug causing this issue on the PTR, and we’re actively investigating solutions to address it in a future build.

We're taking a look at the number of Mythic+ runs completed in the first week of Season 4!
The chart provided by MythicPlusPoster allows us to compare these figures to those from earlier Dragonflight seasons.

In the first week of Season 4, players completed 1,486,891 dungeon runs. This season, Blizzard adjusted the difficulty levels for dungeons, making Heroic and Mythic Dungeons not only viable for gearing up but also comparable to the Mythic 2-10 keys from Season 3, which were included in the Mythic+ totals back then.

Earthen do not leave skeletons behind when they die!
When you plan on rolling an Earthen in the War Within, you will be quite surprised when you die! While other races leave skeletons, you will leave behind a pile of rocks! Here's a screenshot from the Alpha by MrGM.
