Rule Update for The World of Warcraft 2016 Road to BlizzCon

As the North American Regionals are approaching, Blizzard has amended one controversial rule from the World of Warcraft 2016 Road to BlizzCon, while they explained why they left another controversial rule intact.

You might remember from our previous article that a couple of the rules for this year's WoW Road to BlizzCon were not well received by the community. The first one involved teams that have already qualified for the Regionals being able to still participate in the other qualifier cups; the second one involved teams being able to swap a player.

Community Manager Lore announced that Blizzard decided to not allow qualified teams to participate in other qualifier cups. He also explained that they contemplated amending the second rule too only for non North American teams, but ultimately they decided that it would be unfair.

Blizzard LogoLore

In our latest Road to BlizzCon blog, we announced that we’ve further updated the rules for this year’s Arena tournament series based on everyone’s feedback on our original rules update. After further discussion, we’ve decided that once a team has qualified for Regionals, they will no longer be eligible to compete in additional qualifiers.

There were also some concerns raised over the ability for teams to swap out a member from their roster after qualifying. We discussed the possibility of changing this rule for North America, but felt that it would still be necessary for teams coming from other regions in the event that any of their team members have issues acquiring a visa to enter the United States for BlizzCon. As a result, we felt it would be unfair to only apply that restriction to North American teams, so that rule will remain.

Thanks for all the constructive feedback on this year’s Road to BlizzCon, and we’re looking forward to kicking things off this June.

Meanwhile, the North American qualifiers will begin soon, with the first cup being held in two weeks from now. Blizzard is partnering up with Major League Gaming (after acquiring it earlier this year) and GCDTV in order to produce the North American 2016 Road to BlizzCon. You can find more details about it here.

The Siege of Orgrimmar raid and Mists of Pandaria World Bosses are on a daily lockout in Patch 10.2.7.
We're not sure if the change is intended or a MoP Remix feature, but somehow, daily lockouts for SoO and MoP World Bosses have slipped through to live servers even before the event's starts on May 16. Maybe this is a way to give retail players more chances on Tusks of Mannoroth since you can buy them directly from a vendor during MoP Remix.
If you're farming Garrosh, don't forget there is a skip at the beginning of the raid. As you enter, interact with the scroll on the wall.

Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab for Monks in the War Within, making Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon!
We've got some great news for all Monk players out there. In the War Within expansion, Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab that makes Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon, instead of your fists.

In the past, Glyph of Jab was a minor glyph used by monks, designed to ensure that the Jab ability was executed with hands and fist animations even when non-fist weapons were equipped. You will find more details here.
