Calling all 14/14 boomkins

So I have contributed to most of the fights throughout SoO as a boomkin. I feel strong on almost every fight (besides galakras, can't seem to get a solid strat down) and am the lowest geared person in my comp.

I still have some reforging to do to when I get home that will gain me like 2% crit, but for the most part that is it.

 

So boomkins, help me lol. I am not pulling decent numbers at all on Garrosh. My group is 13/14 and tried like 20 pulls on Garrosh last night. I am the switcher who has to switch to the weapons and am also in charge of knocking the adds back into the fire. With the position my tank puts the adds in, I run have to run out of the group to do it and then sprint back so the weapon gets placed where we need it. I wish I ran logs last night but I forgot to. My burst is fine, but by the time we wipe i'll be sitting around 140k when I can usually sustain over 200k. I don't multi dot the adds because I dont want to waste the Natures Grace uptime and because our group just kills them so fast (blade storm, hunter, destro lock, and mage). So by the time I can switch to the adds, it is not worth the GCD's to dot them becaue they will die to fast.

 

If any boomkins out there have done downed Garrosh, please help. I don't want to bring my group down on this fight.

Some logs would help. I would personally use the jc gems on crit over the intellect and use HotW talent over Dream although I dont know if that would be a massive difference in dps. Im sure someone that is better than myself will post soon though.

As a stand point to Renee about us boomkin sour aoe is garbage compared to other classes. That being said this is mostly a single target fight for us. Your priority is the weapon wolf rider and garrosh, don't worry about the other adds only thing to do to them is typhoon when iron star rolls past! I felt discouraged looking at damage meters at a whole but looking at logs I was either top or second on damage done to garrosh him self, don't get discouraged at over all meters on a lot of the SoO fights there's a lot of to much aoe fight when. Under 3 adds we are strong asset to group whe. Fights like this come along you need to know your role your great to help the whole raid other than just damage and real raid leader would know this and not be up set I think te first 3 full clear I was switching talents and trinkets each fight almost. But I've been sticking with INC/DOC most fights. I do te recording for my 10 man raid grp and I had to reinstall Bandi cam before out first garrosh kill so I didn't get to record it due to forgetting to change the start stop key bind -_- but I have mostly all other fights on my channel

Here is the log report from our first Garrosh kill. There was like 11 total attempts, actually more but I forgot to run logs for the first like 1 or 2 hours. We ended up killing it with like one person alive. We had 3 melee so they tunnel adds and Garrosh, I basically was on weapon/garrosh duty. I wasn't last on damage to Garrosh but I caught myself doing a couple things wrong during the fight so I knew it wouldn't be great. I am still learning boomkin tbh. I have only been raiding on my boomy for about 3 weeks in a progression fashion. I played him for fun back in cata and last tier but never got serious enough with him. So I am still learning a lot about it. Also just got my meta for this raid night so I did see a big difference from before. I still am rolling with INC/HoTW. I would like to use DOC but I just keep messing it up more than anything because I get trigger happy with my SS procs. Practice makes perfect I guess though. 

 

Also, how and when do I use FoN? I know that since I have my meta and amp trinket, that they are good for single target fights. I just don't know when to use them appropriately. AND....is the solar opener my go to thing now that I have meta? Or should I still stick with a lunar opener?
