New to Sham PVP: Enh vs Ele for Season 15

4 posts in this topic

I am very interested in playing a dps role in 3v3 arenas in this upcoming season. I love the elemental spec and have for a very long time, but I've been watching enh recently and it seems like a lot of fun. Convince me which one I should play based on: The play styles involved, the team viable/popular compositions for the different specs, the different roles I'll play to be a good or even great player, the weaknesses and strengths of each spec, and finally please tell me what about YOUR preferred spec you love the most.

Also any helpful pvp tips, tricks, shortcuts, macro's, and useful information would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you guys in advance for replying and helping a fellow shaman out.

EDIT: I understand I am asking for a LOT, but don't get discouraged. Anything you're willing to contribute helps out and is welcome here.

enh has high burst, but lacks control a monk would have. ele you have to play like a jerk.

if you like enh but want to live more, play a monk. if you like ele but want to have more direct impact, play a hunter.

I think both are fun but i perfer pairing either spec with a cc class. Enh goes well with hunters and i think warlock goes well with elemental. I love melee and enh has prob best burst in game so i prefer that.

I don't pvp on a shaman, but I know when I'm on my warlock or DK, one of my least favorite things to see running at me is a decently geared enhancement shaman, especially if Ascendance goes up. The burst is ridiculous.

i was wondering about a few trinkets as i'm trying to max my dmg since my guild will be trying myth soon (can't complain atm, dmg is quite good)
      Last night i got
from Heroic Cenarius. I switched my 825 Devilsaur Shockbaton for it. Other trinket atm is 855 Faulty Countermeasure.
What i'm wondering is, another Enha is running
and the proc'd stats difference is quite significant, as CoW procs at 865 with 2,760 Crit/Mastery/Haste whereas Memento on 855 with sth around 4,5k same stats. Duration is different, 10s uptime CoW, 6s Memento. Still i feel like a Memento on 865 could outperform CoW, since it also hast alot Mainstat. Simcraft won't give me contructive feedback, no matter how ofter i run in (more than 10k actions). has anyone some info on these two trinkets?
Is CoW good, or do i need to farm Maw of Souls again like a mad man (with this weeks teeming/necrotic not that easy)?
Bonus Question: Couldn't dig up any information about FCM being nerfed for Enha, can someone enlighten me why it's not good anymore?
      Thx in advance!

      ABOUT US
We are a very social guild LFM for progression/semi-casual raiding and leveling.
When we say "semi-casual," we mean that we raid two days for three hours, can laugh about a wipe but are still serious about progression. We plan to do Normal raids (not for long) before going on to Heroic and Mythic.
New players and all levels welcomed. We are VERY new player and new role friendly and have a few new players in the raid group already. We will work with you and get you trained up. So don't worry!
We do have some PvPers and an experienced RBG leader so PvP isn't out of the question.
We're almost always on Discord and we joke around a lot. Some jokes aren't appropriate so keep that in mind. (Recommended 18+)
Currently we are using the EPGP system ( The addon EPGP (DKP Reloaded), DBM, and GTFO are required to be downloaded and kept up-to-date on raid nights.
Fridays & Sundays 8pm - 11pm PST. (10pm - 1am Server Time.) NOTE: Flasks, foods, potions, and enchants will be provided for raiders on a first-come first-serve basis. People who contribute to the guild bank will also have preference. Guild repairs provided on raid nights. Trials will be provided with the aforementioned items if we can spare them after the main raiders. CURRENT PROGRESSION
Emerald Nightmare, [7/7N] [1/7H] OTHER EVENTS
Saturday is for Mythics/other events. Though we do stuff throughout the week. Most of us have work or school so it depends. We have an event coming up on 10/25 (Saturday) for the release of patch 7.1 Return to Karazhan! WHAT WE HAVE ROOM FOR**

Join me on the Road to Gladiator as I start from the ground up to help you improve at WoW PvP with general guides and in depth gameplay analysis! I was inspired to make this series from my personal experience at endgame. I've always found there is a massive learning curve to improving at the game, especially when you are jumping into endgame arena for the first time. More often than not, I found myself in a situation where I had so many questions to ask that I didn't know where to start. Whether it be keybindings, understanding class abilities, or getting an understanding for positioning and communication in the games.
This series is directed at people that want to improve in WoW Arena and are starting from the ground up, including myself! I will be working through the entire process to show you guys my journey on the Road to Gladiator! Check out the series at and catch my games during the afternoon at
