[Holy] Imperator Normal healing question/priority

Hello everyone, our guild has been working on Imperator normal for two nights now and we are close (I think we wiped at 9% last night), but our healing throughput in the last phase doesn't seem to be able to match the dpst during the last phase (part of this was because of our sloppy transition will get better). We are currently using a disc priest, holy priest, and resto shaman as our healers for our 15 man group.

Normally for this fight, I am in the AoE chakra using CoE on cooldown and casting Heal (with Renew while moving and on tanks/arcane targets) as the filler. However looking at the logs from a couple different websites, I noticed that for this fight a majority of the holy priests where what looked like Renew spamming in their AoE chakra and CoH on cooldown with very little Heal use at all. Should I be dropping down my heal use and focus more on Renewing low health targets? Also, how does mana look like spamming Renew?

Hello Fauxhammer.

I've checked your armory and i would sugguest you different glyphs.

The only one right for it is your binding heal, the two other spots should be at least

 

Glyph of renew(to max out your renew, it's a must have for holy priests)

 

The other 2 options for your 3rd glyph is:

 

 

Glyph of redeemer: also a nice thing since you get 50%more healing while spirit of redeemer is active (perhaps for the last few % of the boss heal)

 

Gyph of circle of Healing: not that much of an use but you can heal one more in your group/raid (but at the same cost as binding heal- i sugguest you to use this glyph if you have no problem with mana)

 

For the other parts of healing i can't give you any bigger advice at this time because i am also 2 soon on the new bosses :) and i am slacking tbh.

I will try out the Renew (is it a straight throughput gain?). My only concern with circle of healing glyph is that im already running out of mana in the imperator fight, and I dont know if I could sustain the extra 35% mana. I think I might try it out though, thanks for the info :)

It's not per se a throughput gain. It makes Renew tick for 25% more but reduces the duration by 25% as well for a net difference of 0. What however makes it good is each tick now hits for more and that's preferable to ticking one more time.

It's not a throughput increase per GCD, but if you were to cast a renew immediately following (not counting the initial healing), you would have an extra tick from the non glyphed version.

Thats funny, i'm 7/7 in Normal, 6/7 in Heroic as a Holy Priest and I've never used the Glyph of Renew. Is it really a must have? I have used the three same glyphs throughout HM so far which is Glyph of Deep Wells, Glyph of CoH and Glyph of Guardian Spirit. I was under the impression that it wasn't a must have. Guess i'll try it out tomorrow when we attempt Margok.

 

Oh and this is my first post on this forum, i've lurked a bit and followed Gwenymphs stream a bit :P

It´s not really a must have but i sugguest you because you can max his potential out (even if it´s for a charge more)

And you should also your your chakra for single heal ( i always forget those names...)
