How to play BM hunter at these haste levels?

Recommended Posts

This may sound like a very stupid question, but I cant figure it out, so please bear with me:

I started properly raiding in SOO as BM, and at those haste levels there was no problem filling all GCDs between KC CDs. Now in WoD, Cobra Shot cast time is 1.9 s, and you have 5 s of free GCDs between KCs. Do you delay KC to fit in the 3rd Cobra assuming you didnt get free focus from Cobra Strikes? Or how do you exactly play the spec when all other things (BW/DB/FF/Barrage) are on CD? Im running DB/Blink/Barrage/Adaptation.

Are you using Arcane shot during those periods?

As in:

Cast wow_icon_ability_impalingbolt.jpg Arcane Shot to dump any excess Focus.

Outside of Bestial Wrath, you should dance around 40-60 focus, so you can always squeeze in an Arcane Shot when you have one spare GCD.

That was the whole point of the question, you dont have enough focus for it: 2 Cobra=28 focus, passive regen in 6 sec is about 25 focus iirc, so that doesnt add up to 70 focus (KC and Arcane Shot).

Perhaps I should rephrase my question, is it ok to have an empty GCD in order to not delay KC?

In Cataclysm the advice was "it is acceptable to delay the signature shot for a time less than 1 whole GCD".

In other words, if you have 1.8 cast time on Cobra, it will take 5.4 seconds to cast 3 cobras, which would delay Kill Command by 0.4 seconds, which is acceptable.
