Best Constellations to Pick in Genshin Impact’s New Event

Jaym0's Avatar by Jaym0

The new permanent event “To Temper Thyself and Journey Far” launches with Genshin Impact Version Luna I, giving Travelers the chance to select a free constellation (Stella Fortuna) for one of 25 five-star characters. You can earn up to 4 constellations per year by completing weekly and daily training goals!

However, it can be hard to decide which character to pick a constellation for, so here is a small overview of the best constellations you could choose! Keep in mind, this guide is aimed at those who want to min-max. If you would rather not focus on the meta and just want to pick a character you enjoy, prioritize your favorite instead!

Event Details

As mentioned, this is a permanent event that cycles every 12 weeks with each patch. To participate, Travelers need to be Adventure Rank 14 or higher and have completed both the Adventurer’s Guild introduction quest and Archon Prologue Act I.

Each cycle offers rewards including materials, Mora, and one Stella Fortuna to use on a five-star character of your choice, with a maximum of four constellations obtainable per year. As a special case, if you already have a character at C6, you will instead receive a Masterless Stella Fortuna, that can be used to increase a character’s level cap to 100.

Be careful, you can only pick constellations for characters you already own. If you do not have the character, you can not unlock them through this event.

Here are the characters you can choose from:

Best Constellations to Prioritize

From the pool of available characters, here are the recommended constellations to pick if you want to aim for the strongest options!

  • Best Constellations:
    • Hu Tao (C1) – Removes stamina issues with Charged Attacks, ~20% DPS boost. One of the strongest constellations overall.
    • Nilou (C2) – Hydro/Dendro RES shred, perfect for Bloom compositions. Extremely strong pick.
    • Shenhe (C2) – Extends Burst duration, buffs Cryo DMG. Great for Cryo teams and future Snezhnaya meta.
    • Ganyu (C1) – Huge DPS boost, one of her best stopping points.
    • Ayaka (C2 / C4) – C2 boosts Burst consistency, C4 is a major DPS spike.
  • Other Strong Choices
    • Yae Miko (C2) – Extends skill range, fixes energy problems.
    • Kokomi (C1) – Extra Hydro application for Bloom/Hyperbloom teams.
    • Baizhu (C4) – Team-wide EM buff (+80 EM), useful in reaction compositions.
    • Cyno (C2) – Up to +50% Electro DMG, solid for him.
    • Itto (C2) – Fixes energy issues, makes rotations smoother.
    • Yoimiya (C2) – +25% Pyro DMG after CRIT, decent upgrade.
    • Eula (C1) – More stacks and this means better Burst uptime. Still limited by physical scaling.
  • Lower Priority Picks
    • Standard 5★ (Diluc, Keqing, Qiqi, Jean, etc.) – Generally weaker constellations. Only worth it if you are close to C6 and want Masterless Stella Fortuna.
    • Mona – C1/C4 okay, but not game-changing.
    • Albedo – Weak constellations overall.
    • Childe – C1 is QoL, but low impact.

The top priority constellations to consider are Hu Tao C1, Nilou C2, Shenhe C2, Ganyu C1, and Ayaka C2, as these provide the strongest long-term value for DPS and team synergy.

Other good alternatives include Baizhu, Kokomi, Cyno, Itto, and Yae Miko, that can still offer useful boosts depending on your team setup.

On the other hand, constellations for characters like Qiqi, Albedo, Keqing, and Childe, along with weaker DPS constellations, are generally less impactful unless you have a personal attachment to the character. Ultimately, the meta considerations are helpful, but the most important factor is fun. Feel free to pick your favorite character if you want to increase their constellations!
