Keqing Guide and Best Builds

Keqing Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Keqing is a 5-star Sword wielding Electro user in Genshin Impact. She is quite versatile as a character, performing equally well at both on-field and off-field play styles. Keqing's Elemental abilities are all solid Electro attacks that include a fun teleport mechanic which can be used in open world exploration.

Keqing Main DPS

Keqing is a solid choice for an Electro on-field DPS, with proper investment in levels and gear, she is an Electro powerhouse on the battle field. Almost all of Keqing ascensions and constellations buff her playstyle and with the addition of Aggravate reactions, she has becomes a powerful driver for reactionary damage.

Mistsplitter Reforged stands as her best in slot weapon by far, even in non-Aggravate builds. The weapon's skill buff is ideal for Keqing, increasing her Electro damage up to 28%. Include the fact that the buff can be triggered in several different ways, it will be very hard to beat. Another great alternative for a 5-star weapon is the CRIT Rate-based Primordial Jade Cutter for the flat ATK bonus based on your character's HP. As for lesser options in the 4-star category, we struggle to find any significant weapons, but there are 2 weapons that offer really good utility to her play style. The first is The Black Sword, this weapon grants a bonus to your Normal and Charged attacks, but also includes a small heal when you score a CRIT hit. The second weapon is Amenoma Kageuchi, which is very helpful with Energy generation and almost acts as a battery on its own. A quick mention about the 4-star weapon Toukabou Shigure which is another great option as a 4-star weapon, but was an event only drop.

For Keqing's artifacts Thundering Fury is her best in slot set, granting her the ability to have buffed up Aggravate damage and as well as being able to use her skills more. The next in line would be the Thundersoother set, focusing in on the 4-piece bonus rather than the two. The 4-piece bonus for this set is a flat increases in damage against enemies affected by Electro, offering a competitive option for us to choose from. While there are instances where you could build a 2-piece mixed set, the combined bonus simply do not compete with the 2 4-piece sets we presented and should be discarded.

As for her Energy Recharge requirements, Keqing is one of the few characters in Genshin that does not need to prioritize a certain amount of ER for her tool kit to work. Her Stellar Restoration has quite a low energy cost and can be cycle relatively quickly regardless of Energy Recharge investment. So we can focus primarily on damage stats for her.

Combos and How to Play Keqing

Keqing has challenging rotations, each one setup for different scenarios and team compositions. For the purpose of this guide, we wanted to focus on her as on-field DPS using a simplified rotation that can be generally applied to any situation. Typically, we want to start off with her Elemental Skill, Stellar Restoration, followed by her Elemental Burst, Starward Sword, then back to her Elemental Skill. Once you have completed that rotation, a series of Normal attacks or Charged Attacks can be performed while her Elemental Burst recharges. Also, be sure to set the battlefield up with any buffs or Elements for her to be the reaction driver of with this rotation. Overall, this rotation will be sufficient for the majority of content and will help you develop your own patterns with your chosen team composition.

4.

Keqing's Best Team Comps

Keqing is fantastic driver for Electro reactions and combines well with the majority of buffers in the character roster.

4.1.

Keqing Aggravate Team

Main DPS Sub DPS Healer Buffer
Keqing Fischl Nahida Xilonen

This Aggravate team has a fast swapping burst setup that is a lot of fun to play. Nahida provides healing and a high Dendro application to help put enemies into Quicken, opening the doorway up for our Aggravate damage. Xilonen provides not only additional healing and buffs, but more importantly grants this team a huge resistance debuff against enemies based on the two Electro team members. Keqing provides our main damage on-field with Fischl providing off-field Electro damage.

4.2.

Keqing Anemo Aggravate Team

Main DPS Support Buffer Shielder
Keqing Nahida Kuki Shinobu

Similar to the team above, this Aggravate team uses our Anemo character equipped with Viridescent Venerer to start our rotation with an Anemo skill followed by a fast swap to Nahida to drop her Elemental skill All Schemes to Know. Next we jump to Kuki Shinobu, to activate her Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite and then back to our Anemo flex spot to use their burst ability. Now we use Nahida Illusory Heart to cap off our rotation for elemental reactions. Keqing can now enter the field, and use her Skill, Burst and again Skill. This is our driver for even more reactions, triggering as much as we can on the field.

4.3.

Keqing Electro Team

Main DPS Sub DPS Buffer Shielder
Keqing Fischl Bennett

This build focuses on a double attack buff for our Keqing and Fischl, adding in Pyro and Anemo reactions to help round out the build. We gain another advantage from running Viridescent Venerer on our Anemo flex role, which will shred resistances against the enemy. The gameplay for this build is simple: to keep our buffs up while we swap between Keqing and Fischl keeping our Electro damage going with their elemental abilities.

Normal Normal Attack: Yunlai Swordsmanship Standard Normal Attack dealing 5 rapid strikes. Charged Attack unleashes 2 rapid sword strikes. Plunging Attacks strike the ground below with an AoE Damage circle.
Elemental Skill Stellar Restoration Hurls a lightning Stiletto that deals Electro DMG in a small AoE. If she uses her Skill again, she can teleport to the location of the Stiletto. Keqing's Constellations

Almost all of Keqing's constellations are useful, but players are usually after her C6 to completely invest in her personal damage. However, Keqing functions fine at C0, but investment into C6 is a very noticeable difference.

# Name Explanation
C1 Thundering Might Recasting Stellar Restoration while a Lightning Stiletto is present causes Keqing to deal 50% of her ATK as AoE Electro DMG at the start point and terminus of her Blink.
C2 Keen Extraction When Keqing's Normal and Charged Attacks hit opponents affected by Electro, they have a 50% chance of producing an Elemental Particle. This effect can only occur once every 5s.
C3 Foreseen Reformation
  • Increases the Level of Starward Sword by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C4 Attunement For 10s after Keqing triggers an Electro-related Elemental Reaction, her ATK is increased by 25%.
C5 Beckoning Stars
  • Increases the Level of Stellar Restoration by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C6 Tenacious Star When initiating a Normal Attack, a Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, Keqing gains a 6% Electro DMG Bonus for 8s. Effects triggered by Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Elemental Skills and Elemental Bursts are considered independent entities.
