Best Weapons for Cyno

Cyno has multiple options for how you can build him, including reaction focused teams like Lunar-Charged and Hyperbloom, and Overload teams focused more on his raw Electro damage. The type of team used can drastically effect his best builds.

Different Cyno Build Options

Thanks to his buffs in patch 6.7, Cyno's strongest build is, by far, being played as a Stellar-Conduct DPS. These teams make perfect use of his Elemental Mastery scalings and buffs, alongside his CRIT, while solving many of his prior kit issues.

Alternatively, he can still be used in his old builds, such as Lunar-Charged and Quickbloom teams, focusing more on damage from these reactions. Or Overload, focusing on buffing his raw Electro damage rather than reaction damage.

Listed below are Cyno's best weapons in his Stellar-Conduct teams. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Cyno can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Cyno.

Staff of the Scarlet Sands (R1) 168%

Heat Haze at Horizon's End

Base ATK: 542

CRIT Rate: 44.1%

The equipping character gains 52% / 65% / 78% / 91% / 104% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, the Dream of the Scarlet Sands effect will be gained for 10s: The equipping character will gain 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. Max 3 stacks.

Cyno's best weapon by far in Stellar-Conduct teams. This weapon not only has the highest CRIT Value of all Polearms, but also allows Cyno to double dip on Elemental Mastery, gaining a massive amount of Attack from it alongside high Stellar-Conduct DMG%.

Sharp

Base ATK: 401

CRIT Rate: 23.4%

Increases Normal Attack DMG by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%.

Although Cyno doesn't care much for the Normal Attack DMG% here, this is still his general best free to play option thanks to the CRIT main stat.

Listed below are Cyno's best weapons in his Overload teams. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Cyno can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Cyno.

Disaster and Remorse (R1) 132%

Dolorous Stroke

Base ATK: 674

CRIT Rate: 22.1%

After the equipping character uses an Elemental Skill, they gain "Path of Conflict" for 17s, as well as "Unforgivable" and "Irreparable" for 3s each. This effect can trigger once every 18s.
Unforgivable: Increases the equipping character's Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80%.
Irreparable: Increases the equipping character's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80%.

When the equipping character hits an opponent with their Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, Unforgivable's duration will be increased by 1s. Each of the above effects can be triggered once every 0.1s. When Path of Conflict ends or the equipping character leaves the field, both Unforgivable and Irreparable will be removed.
Hexerei: Secret Rite: The above DMG boosts are increased by 75%.

Cyno's strongest Overload teams have Hexerei: Secret Rite, allowing this weapon to provide immense DMG % alongside its high base Attack and good CRIT Rate. As a result, this is by far his strongest weapon here.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear (R1) 113%

Eagle Spear of Justice

Base ATK: 674

CRIT Rate: 22.1%

On hit, increases ATK by 3.2% / 3.9% / 4.6% / 5.3% / 6% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%.

The stats provided by this weapon are great for Cyno's raw Electro damage, making it about equal to Staff of the Scarlet Sands here.
Staff of the Scarlet Sands (R1) 113%

Heat Haze at Horizon's End

Base ATK: 542

CRIT Rate: 44.1%

The equipping character gains 52% / 65% / 78% / 91% / 104% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. Max 3 stacks.

Although this is still a strong weapon on Cyno, in Overload he is not building much Elemental Mastery, so it is no longer his strongest weapon.
Fractured Halo (R1) 111%

Purifying Crown

Base ATK: 608

CRIT DMG: 66.2%

After an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst is used, ATK is increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 20s. Symphonist of Scents (R1) 107%

Seasoned Symphony

Base ATK: 608

CRIT DMG: 66.2%

ATK is increased by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. When the equipping character is off-field, ATK is increased by an additional 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. After initiating healing, the equipping character and the character(s) they have healed will obtain the "Sweet Echoes" effect, increasing their ATK by 32% / 40% / 48% / 56% / 64% for 3s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is off-field.

These are all general 5-star stat sticks that work well if you don't have any of the better options. Vortex Vanquisher is worse than shown here if you aren't using a Shielder like Nicole.
Deathmatch (R5) 106%

Gladiator

Base ATK: 454

CRIT Rate: 36.8%

If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% and DEF is increased by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%.

Cyno's best 4-star weapon in these teams, if you buy the battle pass.
Deathmatch (R1) 100%

If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% and DEF is increased by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%.

White Tassel (R5) 90%

Sharp

Base ATK: 401

CRIT Rate: 23.4%

Increases Normal Attack DMG by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%.

If you don't have any of the above weapons, this is the best free to play option.

Listed below are Cyno's best weapons in his Lunar-Charged and Quickbloom teams. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Cyno can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Cyno.

Staff of the Scarlet Sands (R1) 127%

The equipping character gains 52% / 65% / 78% / 91% / 104% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, the Dream of the Scarlet Sands effect will be gained for 10s: The equipping character will gain 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. Max 3 stacks.

Cyno’s signature and strongest weapon, giving him a large Attack buff based off his Elemental Mastery.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear (R1) 111%

Eagle Spear of Justice

Base ATK: 674

CRIT Rate: 22.1%

On hit, increases ATK by 3.2% / 3.9% / 4.6% / 5.3% / 6% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%.

Cyno is able to stack the effect of this weapon relatively fast, making it a solid weapon option for him.
Bloodsoaked Ruins (R1) 108%

Mournful Tribute

Base ATK: 674

CRIT Rate: 22.1%

For 3.5s after using an Elemental Burst, the equipping character's Lunar-Charged DMG dealt to opponents is increased by 36% / 48% / 60% / 72% / 84%. Additionally, after triggering a Lunar-Charged reaction, the equipping character will gain Requiem of Ruin: CRIT DMG is increased by 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56% for 6s. They will also regain 12 / 13 / 14 / 15 / 16 Elemental Energy. Elemental Energy can be restored this way once every 14s.

Cyno no longer needs the Energy from this weapon's passive. However, it is still a good stat stick and his second best weapon, as long as he can maintain the CRIT DMG buff.
Ballad of the Fjords (R5) 106%

Tales of the Tundra

Base ATK: 510

CRIT Rate: 27.6%

When there are at least 3 different Elemental Types in your party, Elemental Mastery will be increased by 120. / 150. / 180. / 210. / 240.

Thanks to the good amount of Crit and high EM Ballad of the Fjords provides, at R5 it is his second strongest weapon. It is still his strongest 4 star weapon even at R1, about 5% ahead of the best free to play option. Note that Ballad will not provide any Elemental Mastery if your team has less than 3 different elements, and should not be used in such teams.
Fractured Halo (R1) 106%

Purifying Crown

Base ATK: 608

CRIT DMG: 66.2%

After an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst is used, ATK is increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 20s. If you are getting a Battle Pass weapon for Cyno in a reaction focused team, it should be Ballad of the Fjords and not Deathmatch, unless Ballad’s passive does not work in your team. But if you already have Deathmatch, it’s a solid option for Cyno.
Ballad of the Fjords (R1) 101%

Tales of the Tundra

Best Artifacts for Cyno

Disenchantment in Deep Shadow 100%

Disenchantment in Deep Shadow

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: Increases Superconduct Reaction DMG by 80%. When the equipping character attacks opponents affected by Superconduct, this attack's CRIT Rate is increased by 16%. An all-new blessing may be obtained as you make your way toward Snezhnaya...

Cyno's best set in Stellar-Conduct teams, providing a good amont of reaction DMG%, CRIT, and ATK%.
Gilded Dreams 98%

Gilded Dreams

2-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece Set: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.

This set can perform identical to 2pc mixed EM sets, but it requires Cyno triggering Elemental Reactions. He will not be the reaction trigger if your team is only Electro and Cryo units, so should only be used if using Dendro on the team, as this will enable him to trigger Aggravate, while still having Stellar-Conduct.
Wanderer's Troupe Gilded Dreams 94%

Wanderer's Troupe

2-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece Set: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or a Bow.

Cyno scales very well with Elemental Mastery, so mixed 2pc EM sets work well on him and can be used until you get a good Disenchantment in Deep Shadow set.
Thundering Fury 85%

Thundering Fury

2-Piece Set: Electro DMG Bonus +15%

4-Piece Set: Increases the DMG caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Superconduct, and Hyperbloom by 40%, the DMG Bonus conferred by Aggravate by 20%, and the DMG caused by Lunar-Charged by 20%. When Quicken or the aforementioned Elemental Reactions are triggered, Elemental Skill CD is decreased by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.

This set is not recommended on Cyno in Stellar-Conduct teams, as he will not be activating the Elemental Skill cooldown reduction unless you have Dendro on the team. Even then, the main benefit is lower Energy requirements from the extra Skill casts, but this is not needed in Stellar-Conduct.
Night of the Sky's Unveiling 102%

Night of the Sky's Unveiling

2-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece Set: When nearby party members trigger Lunar Reactions, if the equipping character is on the field, gain the Gleaming Moon: Intent effect for 4s: Increases CRIT Rate by 15%/30% when the party's Moonsign is Nascent Gleam/Ascendant Gleam. All party members' Lunar Reaction DMG is increased by 10% for each different Gleaming Moon effect that party members have. Effects from Gleaming Moon cannot stack.

This is Cyno’s highest damage set if your team has Ascendant Gleam. Note however if using Cyno on Staff of the Scarlet Sands, it can be difficult to avoid overcapping on CRIT Rate% with this set.
Marechaussee Hunter 101%

Marechaussee Hunter

2-Piece Set: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%

4-Piece Set: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.

In teams with Furina and without Ascendant Gleam, this is Cyno’s highest damage set. But it has the same risk of overcapping on CRIT Rate%.
Thundering Fury 100%

Thundering Fury

2-Piece Set: Electro DMG Bonus +15%

4-Piece Set: Increases the DMG caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Superconduct, and Hyperbloom by 40%, the DMG Bonus conferred by Aggravate by 20%, and the DMG caused by Lunar-Charged by 20%. When Quicken or the aforementioned Elemental Reactions are triggered, Elemental Skill CD is decreased by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.

This set allows Cyno to get extra casts of his Elemental Skill, which can get him some extra damage and lower Energy Requirements for the rest of the team. If Cyno is the only Electro character on your team, this becomes much more valuable. However, the effect will not work in teams where Cyno isn’t triggering Electro reactions.

A solid alternative to Thundering Fury, if you do not wish to farm that set.
Echoes of an Offering 100%

Echoes of an Offering

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: When Normal Attacks hit opponents, there is a 36% chance that it will trigger Valley Rite, which will increase Normal Attack DMG by 70% of ATK. This effect will be dispelled 0.05s after a Normal Attack deals DMG. If a Normal Attack fails to trigger Valley Rite, the odds of it triggering the next time will increase by 20%. This trigger can occur once every 0.2s.

Cyno's current best set in his Overload teams. The added ATK % scaling to his Normal Attacks works great thanks to his high hit count, and the high amount of ATK buffs he'll get from characters like Chevreuse Fischl and/or Nicole.
Gladiator's Finale 93%

Gladiator's Finale

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

A solid alternative to Echoes of an Offering if you do not have it yet.
A Day Carved From Rising Winds 92%

A Day Carved From Rising Winds

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, gain the Blessing of Pastoral Winds effect for 6s: ATK is increased by 25%. If the equipping character has completed Witch's Homework, Blessing of Pastoral Winds will be upgraded to Resolve of Pastoral Winds, which additionally increases the CRIT Rate of the equipping character by 20%. This effect can be triggered even when the character is off-field.

Although Cyno can't get the 20% CRIT Rate from this set, the 43 ATK % still makes it equivalent Gladiator's Finale.

Cyno's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: ATK% / Elemental Mastery
Goblet of Eonothem: ATK% / Elemental Mastery
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats: CRIT > ATK% > Elemental Mastery

Cyno's damage scales higher with ATK than Elemental Mastery, so this should be used on his Sands and Goblet. However, if using Staff of the Scarlet Sands Elemental Mastery should always be used. CRIT is always best on the Circlet.

These numbers reflect Cyno on Disenchantment in Deep Shadow and White Tassel. These are the stats you would see on the stat screen before any buffs from Cyno, his team, or Artifact 4pc bonuses. His CRIT Rate would be 16% higher in practice thanks to Disenchantment in Deep Shadow.

Sands of Eon: ATK % / Elemental Mastery
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG > ATK % > Elemental Mastery

In Overload teams focus on Cyno's raw Electro damage, so ATK% Sands and Electro Goblet are recommended. However, if using Staff of the Scarlet Sands Elemental Mastery Sands can be used. Elemental Mastery Sands can also be used if using Dendro on the team, since Cyno will be triggering Aggravate and Overload.

Recommended Stats for Cyno

Build recommendations assume a "decently built" level of artifact rolls alongside Cyno's best F2P weapon White Tassel. Using other weapons may increase or decrease certain stats relative to these recommendations.

HP: 17,000-19,500
ATK: 1450-1600
Energy Recharge: 100%
CRIT Rate: 80-95%
CRIT DMG: 150-175%

The stats shown here are reflecting Cyno on his best free to play weapon White Tassel. These are the stats you would see on the stat screen before buffs and effects from the team and Artifacts are applied. Cyno will not need to build any Energy Recharge after his upcoming buffs in patch 6.7.

Sands of Eon: Elemental Mastery / ATK%
Goblet of Eonothem: Electro DMG or Elemental Mastery
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG > > Elemental Mastery / ATK %

The sands Cyno should use depends on his exact team and weapon. If using Staff of Scarlet Sands, and/or playing a team where Cyno triggers Hyperbloom, Elemental Mastery should be used. In Lunar-Charged teams, ATK % and Elemental Mastery are generally equal.

The stats shown here are reflecting Cyno on his best free to play weapon White Tassel. These are the stats you would see on the stat screen before buffs and effects from the team and Artifacts are applied. In combat he will have 30% higher CRIT Rate than this from Night of the Sky's Unveiling. With his upcoming buffs in patch 6.7, he will not need to build any Energy Recharge.

Cyno's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Sacred Rite: Wolf's Swiftness > Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer >>> Invoker's Spear

Cyno’s Normal Attacks in his Burst are a much larger portion of his total damage output than his Skill, so it should be leveled first. The Skill is still important, so it should be leveled too. Cyno’s Normal Attack talent can be left unleveled, as it is not used. In Stellar-Conduct teams, most of Cyno's damage comes from his Ascension 1 passive and is not increased by leveling his talents, so they don't need to be maxed out, but should still be leveled up to 9.

How to Play Cyno

Cyno’s playstyle involves using him as an on-field DPS in his Burst, performing Normal Attacks and casting his Skill when he enters his Endseer stance, or off cooldown if using Thundering Fury. In Stellar-Conduct teams, the Skill casts in the Endseer stance will deal tremendous, Elemental Mastery scaling direct Stellar-Conduct damage, and it is much more important to get the timing right.

Ideally, you will go up to the 4th hit in Cyno's Normal Attack chain and do a dash cancel if his Skill is on cooldown, and use the Skill if it isn’t, as this will fit into the Endseer interval. If using Thundering Fury, the dash cancels are replaced with his Skill, as the set allows him to fit in those extra Skill casts without missing his Endseer intervals, if your timing is right.

Cyno's Best Constellations

Cyno's Constellations are incredible in Stellar-Conduct teams, as they gain additional effects they normally wouldn't have. His C1 and C2 are both huge damage increases for early Constellations, and C6 will more than double his damage.

For the most part, without Stellar-Conduct, Cyno’s Constellations are extremely underwhelming. C2 and C6 are the strongest ones, but keep in mind the exact value depends on what type of team Cyno is used in. Teams like Lunar-Charged and Quickbloom that focus more on his raw Electro damage get more benefit out of the Constellations.
