Mona Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Mona build guide for Genshin Impact. Mona is a 5-Star Hydro Support Character. Mona's primary goal is to use her Elemental Burst, Stellaris Phantasm, to amplify team damage and create massive elemental reactions. She can also use her Elemental Skill, Mirror Reflection of Doom, to continuously taunt enemies and deal off-field Hydro damage.

Best Weapons for Mona

Listed below are Mona's best weapons for a Support build. These choices are designed to focus heavily on her support capabilities and team-wide buffs rather than her personal damage.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers R5

Heritage

Base ATK: 401

HP: 35.2%

When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is Mona's absolute best weapon for supporting a Main DPS. It gives a massive ATK % buff to the character you swap to after Mona. While choosing this weapon takes away from Mona's personal DPS, it maximizes her ability to set up huge nuke reactions for the rest of your team.
Prototype Amber R5

Gilding

Base ATK: 510

HP: 41.3%

Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 Energy every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 4% / 4.5% / 5% / 5.5% / 6% HP every 2s for this duration.

Prototype Amber is a great alternative for a support role if your team lacks a dedicated healer. It allows Mona to act as a pseudo-healer, providing team-wide healing and restoring her own Energy whenever she uses her Burst ability.
Blackcliff Agate R1

Press the Advantage

Base ATK: 510

CRIT DMG: 55.1%

After defeating an enemy, ATK is increased by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.

Blackcliff Agate offers Mona much more offensive stats. It gives her the ability to kill smaller enemies to trigger the weapon's ATK buff, allowing her to contribute more personal damage in AoE situations while still performing her support duties.

Best Artifacts for Mona

Mona's artifact choices are very important for her support value, as they focus heavily on securing enough Energy Recharge. Your main focus should be stacking as much ER as possible.

Heaven's Gift

Heaven's Gift

2-Piece Set: Energy Recharge +20%.

4-Piece Set: If the equipping character has completed Witch's Homework, after they use an Elemental Skill, they also gain "Light's Guidance" for 20s: All nearby party members gain a 20% Elemental DMG Bonus corresponding to the equipping character's Elemental Type. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field. DMG Bonuses provided by Artifact Sets with the same name do not stack.\n· When your party has the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect, Light's Guidance is upgraded to "Mortal Hymn": All nearby party members gain a 40% Elemental DMG Bonus corresponding to both the equipping character and the current active party member's Elemental Type instead. If both characters have the same Elemental Type, these bonuses will not stack.

Heaven's Gift is now Monas best set, providing up to a 40% DMG Bonus to the team. This set is mainly used in teams with non-ATK-scaling DPS characters, such as Mualani, where DMG Bonus buffs are more valuable than ATK buffs.
Noblesse Oblige

Noblesse Oblige

2-Piece Set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%

4-Piece Set: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

Noblesse Oblige is a phenomenal support set for Mona. Since her entire playstyle revolves around casting her Elemental Burst to apply the Omen buff, the 4-piece bonus perfectly aligns to grant an additional 20% ATK buff to the entire team.
Tenacity of the Millelith

Tenacity of the Millelith

2-Piece Set: HP +20%

4-Piece Set: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Tenacity of the Millelith is a strong alternative if another party member is already holding Noblesse. Mona's Elemental Skill pulses and damages enemies over its duration, allowing her to comfortably trigger the 4-piece ATK buff for the team while off-field.

Mona's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem: ATK %
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats: Energy Recharge > CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG

Your Energy Recharge needs are extremely high for Mona. You must aim for enough ER to guarantee quick rotations so you can chain Elemental Reactions together. Once your Energy needs are met, stack CRIT stats to increase the damage of reactions triggered with her Hydro application.

Recommended Stats for Mona

Listed below are our recommended stats for Mona. Build recommendations assume a strict Support/Burst role for Mona.

Energy Recharge: 250%+
CRIT Rate: 50 - 60%+
CRIT DMG: 100 - 120%+

Mona's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Stellaris Phantasm > Mirror Reflection of Doom > Ripple of Fate

Mona's Elemental Burst is the core of her support playstyle, as it provides her massive Omen damage buff, making it your highest priority. Her Elemental Skill should be leveled next for its taunt and off-field damage. Normal Attacks can be left unleveled.

How to Play Mona

Mona supports a Main DPS by using her Elemental Burst, Stellaris Phantasm, to apply Omen through the Illusory Bubble she creates. This gives you precise control over when to trigger the damage amplification window. Her Burst ability has three main components:

  1. Applies Hydro to enemies.
  2. Creates the Illusory Bubble.
  3. Applies Omen when the Illusory Bubble is broken.

Understanding these three components will help you set up huge Elemental Reactions to take down bosses with ease. The Omen buff does have a timer on it, so be aware of what order you are doing your rotations in. You want your Main DPS to activate the buff, then continue to play on-field to take full advantage of the damage amplification.

Between Burst casts, use her Elemental Skill, Mirror Reflection of Doom, to create an Illusion that continuously taunts enemies and deals Hydro damage. Be mindful that it only lasts 5 seconds, so it can be difficult to complete a full team rotation before it ends.

Mona's Best Constellations

Almost all of Mona's constellations are useful and amplify her ability to buff a Main DPS. However, Mona functions perfectly at C0 without any issues. Typically, you want to aim for her max constellation (C6), but since she does not have her own limited banner, this happens naturally over time by losing 50/50s.

Investment Priority: Constellation 1 > Constellation 4

Prophecy of Submersion (C1) is a fantastic support constellation. When any party member hits an opponent affected by an Omen, the effects of Hydro-related Elemental Reactions (like Vaporize or Freeze) are enhanced for 8 seconds.

Prophecy of Oblivion (C4) provides another excellent team buff, increasing the CRIT Rate of any party member attacking an opponent affected by an Omen by 15%.
