This thread is meant to collect useful pieces of information for Retribution Paladins attempting bosses in the Throne of Thunder. We will add some contributions ourselves and hope that the rest will come from comments in this thread Posted Image

Jin'rokh the Breaker

Useful talents:Useful glyphs:
  • inv_glyph_majorpaladin.jpgGlyph of Templar's Verdict is great for any single-target fight.
  • inv_glyph_majorpaladin.jpgGlyph of Harsh Words can be useful if you have to kite the Focused Lightning orb away; it will enable you to keep doing some damage.
  • Either inv_glyph_majorpaladin.jpgGlyph of Avenging Wrath for self healing when using spell_holy_avenginewrath.jpgAvenging Wrath to help your healers out, or if you feel you have enough dps to kill the boss but your healers are struggling during Lightning Storm you can use inv_glyph_majorpaladin.jpgGlyph of the Battle Healer to help a little bit during that time. Note: Using this glyph is a significant DPS loss. Make sure to switch back to Truth after the Lightning Storm is done.
Tips and Tricks:
  • You can use spell_holy_divineshield.jpgDivine Shield during spell_shaman_thunderstorm.jpgLightning Storm to prevent damage and continue DPSing (Unbreakable Spirit lets you get the first and third Lightning Storms).
  • Since you have little to do in this fight, call out who has ability_vehicle_electrocharge.jpgFocused Lightning for your raid.
  • Use spell_holy_auramastery.jpgDevotion Aura for spell_shaman_thunderstorm.jpgLightning Storm
  • Always be at maximum melee range from the boss, this way an expanding pool will reach you faster.
  • Save your cooldowns for the first pool.
  • (Heroic) You can use spell_holy_divineshield.jpgDivine Shield before spell_nature_callstorm.jpgIonization goes out to avoid the debuff and stay in the Conductive Waters.

Horridon

Useful talents:Useful glyphs:Tips and Tricks:
  • Use spell_holy_fistofjustice.jpgFist of Justice as there are no adds that need to be slowed and many of the adds on the third and fourth doors can be stunned.
  • The best time to use spell_holy_auramastery.jpgDevotion Aura is when ability_creature_poison_02.jpgVenom Bolt Volley have gone out and before a Mistweaver Monk uses spell_shaman_blessingofeternals.jpgRevival to dispel it.
  • During the second and third doors, make good use of your spell_holy_purify.jpgCleanse and spell_holy_sealofsacrifice.jpgHand of Sacrifice. Now that Clease has a cooldown and not every healer has the ability to dispel disease/poison, it's a very valuable utility for you to provide.
  • Use spell_holy_sealofprotection.jpgHand of Protection on the tanks to remove their stacks of ability_warrior_shieldbreak.jpgTriple Puncture when Horridon charges a door.

Tortos

Useful talents:Useful glyphs:Tips and Tricks:
  • spell_holy_sealofprotection.jpgHand of Protection + spell_holy_sealofsalvation.jpgHand of Salvation on healers when the bats spawn.
  • Use spell_holy_auramastery.jpgDevotion Aura shortly after ability_thunderking_rockfalllow.jpgRockfall.
  • AoE down the bats while attacking the boss if possible.
  • Try to line up your cooldowns for when Tortos has priest_icon_chakra_green.jpgShell Concussion.
  • In Heroic Mode, ability_paladin_gaurdedbythelight.jpgSelfless Healer makes this fight a joke. If your inv_datacrystal01.jpgCrystal Shell ever gets broken and you are low health during a ability_thunderking_rockfalllow.jpgRockfall, you can quickly instant spell_holy_flashheal.jpgFlash of Light yourself, pop a healthstone, and get the shield again and always stay safe. Selfless Healer should always be procced when you are in trouble. You also have spell_holy_divineshield.jpgDivine Shield and spell_holy_layonhands.jpgLay on Hands as backups (use Divine Shield without a Crystal Shield, wait to get topped off, get a new Crystal Shield, or use Lay on Hands and then get a new shield). You should never die on this fight.

  • Either AoE low hp bloods behind boss for quick buff rebuilding but this can be dangerous if people are stacked there (ability_poisonarrow.jpgAcidic Spines).

Tips and Tricks:

  • If you can be sneaky, bring your Anima Golem to 5% fast and kill it near a Massive Anima Golem. Only do it if it is safe. Then, you are free to move around or taunt Anima Golems off other players, if they are low on health.
  • Help tanks with ability_animusorbs.jpgAnima Ring by consuming a sphere.

For Jin'rohk the Breaker

Talents:

Tier 1:your own personal choice.

Tier 2:Doesn't matter.

Tier 3: I personally like selfless healer since you can have a instant cast Flash of Light but eternal flame could help as well

Tier 4: Clemency provides a solid aid for emergency Support use.Hand of Purity can also be a choice for minor help for yourself.

Tier 5: I personlly like Sanctified Wrath since it basiclly allows you to spam Hammer of Wrath which is a huge buff and increases holy power. But Holy Avenager is a close 2nd.

Tier6: Execution Sentence all the way since this a single target fight.

Glyphs:

1.Templar's Verdict: Great for since its single target that give you a debuff and work with exorcism to give that 10% reduce damage buff.

2.Harsh Word: For you are kitting the orb away, its great for long range attack so your damage is not reduce

3.Either Avenging Wrath for self healing when using AW or Battle healer if your healers run out of mana or they are down and about to kill the boss. Doesn't really matter for this one.

I hope this give some insight

Talents:

Tier 1 talent - Speed of Light or Long Arm of the Law. Both will allow you to stay on the platform during a downdraft.

Tier 3 talent - Selfless Healer will allow you to help out if you are on nest duty.

Tier 5 talent - Holy Avenger or Sanctified Wrath can line up nicely if you gain the buff from catching feed young.

Glyphs:

Divine Protection if you need help with damage from Quills. Don't take this however if you are soaking up slime void zones.

Tips:

Remember to use selfless healer on yourself or lowest health members during Quills. Your raid will love you keeping a member alive.

Jinrokh:

- You can bubble before Ionization goes out to avoid the debuff and stay in the water to increase damage. (You can get the first and third with Unbreakable Spirit)

- Conversely, you can bubble during the lightning storm and dps during it (Unbreakable Spirit let's you get the first and third).

Horridon:

- If you feel you aren't making good use of Glyph of Double Jeopardy you can switch to Glyph of Blinding Light in order to stun the adds on the third door.

- Use Fist of Justice as there are no adds that need to be slowed and many of the adds on the third and fourth doors can be stunned.

- The best time to use Devotion Aura is when Poison Bolt Volleys have gone out and before your healer monk uses Revival to dispel it.

- Near the end of the fight, if you get the Direhorn Spirit, it can be knocked back by your glyphed Exorcism if the Direhorn Spirit is positioned properly next to the boss. This is very hard to do.

Tortos:

- Selfless healer makes this fight a joke. If your shield ever gets broken and you are low health during a Rockfall you can quickly instant FoL yourself, pop a healthstone then get the shield again and always stay safe. Selfless healer should always be procced when you are in trouble. You also have bubble and LoH as backups. Horridon:

- Long Arm of the Law makes getting around/getting out of bad things simple

- Fist of Justice for short CD stuns (there is at least 1 add type per door that can be stunned, if not more)

- Selfless Healer to help out in situations where everyone is moving between doors and healers aren't planted

- Clemency to help the tanks, especially if there are no paladin tanks. Hand of Protection removes the puncture debuff so the tanks can manage swapping between doors a little better. If you have a holy/prot paladin it's even more helpful.

-Light's Hammer because there are several AoE situations and it will do more damage overall, the healing is helpful as well

Glyph of Divine Storm is good because you'll be using it a lot to AoE

Glyph of Templar's Verdict is basically a mandatory glyph in every fight, and there's nothing better anyway

Glyph of Mass Exorcism is pretty useful in this fight, there are several AoE situations and you'll be in melee range with them all once the tank rounds up the adds

During the 2nd and 3rd doors make good use of your cleanse. Now that cleanse has a CD and not every healer has the ability to dispel disease/poison it's a very valuable utility for you to provide. You should be in charge of cleansing yourself, and if cleanse isn't on CD and you don't have a debuff, cleanse someone else so your healers don't have to.

I think he is talking about the heroic version of both fights. Or did you realize that already?

I got that, but I don't get what is the shield being mentioned. Also, there's no Glyph of Exorcism. I mean, I'm no Paladin specialist, so I'm trying to understand everything I add to the opening topic.

I tired looking up the glyph. I could only find inv_glyph_majorpaladin.jpgGlyph of Mass Exorcism. So maybe its just to do extra damage to adds while the dire horn is out? Thats just a guess....

For the shield on tortos, thats part of the heroic mechanic where when you attack the crystal you get a shield and any healing done to you just increases the potency of the shield

Hand of Protection can be useful on Ji-Kun, as it negates the damage from both Quills and Caw. Hand of Purity should work to help the tank deal with Infected Talons.

I have to dispute the tip under Jin'rokh about glyph of battle healer being good for that fight as it requires switching to seal of insight which is a massive DPS loss. The healing it provides is good, sure, but if you can't survive with seal of truth you're either standing in things you shouldn't be or your healers are doing something wrong.

I added that it is a DPS loss to use it, but if the paladin feels taht the healers need some help during Lighting Storm he can elect to use it at the cost of his DPS.

Jin`Rok tips: since you have little to do in this fight, call out who has focused lightning for your raid. Devo aura lightning storms. Be max melee range of boss so a expanding pool will reach you faster. Save cds for first pool. On heroic, divine shield before application of timed debuff.

Horridon: interrupts. Cleanse/hand of sacrifice if you have free gcds to remove poisons/diseases. BOP tanks to remove their stacks when he charges a gate.

Council: interrupt. Clemency salv/bop healers when sand adds spawn. Fist of justice for loas. Aoe dps bosses when close together, when kazra overpowers dont waste time running all over just wait til he stands still then switch to him. Unglyphed dp. Clemency for freedoms on rooted ranged. Watch malakk stacks on tanks so you know when he will be moving(when hes empowered).

Tortos: Unglyphed dp/sacred shield. Start fight at far side of boss and strafe to otherside after rockfall (less dmg on you). Bop salc healers when bats are out. Devo aura shortly after rockfall. Aoe bats while attacking boss if possible. Look for shell debuff on possible for dmg cds line up. Remember boss takes extra damage right after he reahes 100 fury.

Megaera: hand of purity for tanks or self if you have cinders. Hand of sac tanks during breaths. Build holy power on head even after its 0%. Refresh sacred shield before each rampage. Devo aura every other rampage. Be meleeing heads during rampage.

Ji-kun: refresh feather on third low platform. Use feather to catxh nutriment (press at 25% off her cast to have the timing right). Dont wait foe nutriment to go down after upper nests. Refresh sacred shield when flying. Be as close to boss when on her platform so pushback doesnt push you out of melee range. Focus boss so you can dp quills/see feed young cast.

Durumu: devo aura during light cones to help healers recover. When you have beams stay close to boss to turn it faster. Bop tanks to remove stacks. Unglyph dp. Refresh ss before beam dodge. Stand max melee range for dropping pools, find your own area so force doesnt hit multiple people. help soak lifedrain. Ds lifedrain if able? Not tested.

Primordius: call out two pools that belong to you at start of fight. Save cds foe fully mutated. Safe to prepot. Stay on outer side of boss with respect to middle. Either aoe low hp blobs behind boss for quick buff rebuilding but can be dangerous if people are stacked there (spines). Purity for the heavy hitting dot. Unglyphed dp. I would rock flash of light improved talent foe mini loh.

Dark Animus: if you can be sneaky, bring yours real low to 5% fast and kill it near massive. I blow everything on my golem and kill iy quick - but ONLY if you can do it safely. So you are free to move around or taunt golems off others that are low to finish them off near massive. Help free tanks, eat a whole half circle to make it easy for them. Devo aura interrupting jolt.

Iron qon: unglyphed dp. Devo aura in p1 when healers are stressed. Divine shield to run thru tornadoes. Speed of light talent. Try not to refresf lightning dot on raid members. Cant jump lines try to attack across them.

Twin consorts: unglyphed dp/ss. Speed on judge talent. Devo aura waves.

Lei shen: unglyphed dp/ss/speed of light. Better to eat 3s stun than run out of melee for overharged. Divine shiels solo soak static shock. Be smart with sac/purity when stacking for static shock. Watch conduit energy so youre ready to move. Devo aura static shock.

If you're using Divine Protection to clear slime pools, check to make sure the boss isn't about to use quills. You don't want your healers to have to heal through quills and pool damage simultaneously.

If your healers are having issues keeping up during Quills phase, you may want to take Light's Hammer as your Tier 6 talent. It can really aid as a raid stacking heal and still put out decent damage.

Iron Qon Tip:

Take clemency and use hand of protection on the tank to remove impale (around 4-5 stacks). This allows solo-tanking the boss and gives your group more overall DPS.

I didnt understand the Hand of purity on Lei shen, does the static shock count as a periodic effect and is reduced by 70% dmg? or is it just for the 10% decrease it does either way?

Raid/Class Spots Are Open To Any Applicant If The Player Is The Right Fit
A guild formed with an ambition for progression and a love for M+ we decided to make the move from Silvermoon Alliance and form a guild to take our focus to the next level, Cutting Edge in 10.1 being the next step.
We believe in building a guild by recruit players of a similar goal and mentality whether it be for raiding or for push score in Mythic plus. We value loyalty, honesty and a positive attitude towards setbacks. Communication skills are an absolute must.
      Raid Schedule
      Wednesday 20:30-23:00 Sunday 20:30-23:00
      Current Progression
      9/9HC 5/9M
What are we looking for recruitment wise?
We're currently open to recruiting DPS classes listed above, as we aim to solidify a stable 25-player roster. We're looking to provide competition to existing members and choose the best 25 players to proceed with for next tier.

Been playing as 29/11/0 so far, extra crit heals is obviously good for keeping my team alive.

However, I never go OOM, so I want to get some more burst damage. What is the best way to make a hybrid paladin?
Holy shock with spell power? I want to do burst damage when my heals get interrupted, so holy shock might be bad.

7 Prot is the bare minimum for me, Imp Freedom is so strong.
18 Prot is also very strong, extra stuns together with grenades is powerful for BGs.
25 Prot for reckoning might be the best burst damage available, you could even heal with a 2hander. But this requires alot of investment and SETUP.

How good is SoC for a 1hander? Spell power gear? Maybe using Thrash Blade to do melee damage while healing geared.

What kind of gear? Spell power or strength?

<Fun is for Casuals> is a serious but casual horde guild on US-Hyjal. We are serious about raiding without the intense hours. Even when recruitment status is none, we will accept exceptional applications for all classes. For a full list of what we're looking for check out https://funisforcasuals.enjin.com .
Our raid times are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM server (PST) with raid invitations sent out a few minutes prior to that.

We're interested in you if you fit the following criteria:
Raid attendance is essential. We don't want people sitting on the bench but we also want to make sure we're raiding 6 hours per week. We expect you to be available for at least 90% of our raids. Be on time and prepared for raids. This includes flasks and other consumables. Discord is mandatory and a working mic is desired. You're appropriately geared for our current content. Effort and thought have been put into your gear/gem/enchant choices. You wouldn't show up for a job interview looking like a scrub, why would you apply to a guild with improper gems or some insane spec? You're up to date with your class. We expect our raiders to perform to the best of their abilities. You have a computer that's not run with hamster power or requires a hand crank. Some encounters are taxing on a computer's resources so if your toon can't even handle Orgrimmar it's not likely to do well with 20+ whelps that need AOE'ing.
You may be interested in us because:
<Fun is for Casuals> uses the personal loot system. There is no loot council, or DKP. We won't eat your babies the first time you stand in something you have no business being in. Repeatedly do it and we'll break out the bibs and BBQ sauce. We provide a limited amount of consumables and flasks on hard mode raid nights. Discord isn't a circus during raids. We're focused on the job at hand and you should be too. We don't want someone to miss a an interrupt because they were distracted by fart jokes. We are not interested in you if you fit the following criteria:
You roll on BoE items then sell them. Unwilling/unable to spend an entire evening on one boss during progression. While this is rare, it can happen. Drama queens. If you have a problem bring it up to E. This is his job. Don't announce it in guild chat or during a raid. Your issue will have nothing to do with 99% of the guild. You are 17 or younger. We try to keep guild and discord chat PG-13 but occasionally a few four letter words appear out of nowhere. Additionally, we don't want someone's mom interrupting their raiding to get homework or the dishes done. Follow the instructions at https://funisforcasuals.enjin.com/ under the Recruitment tab if you would like to apply.
If you have any question, feel free to contact E. at DbD#1309

      Hey all,

Not new to hearthstone but haven't been playing constantly and just jumping back in towards the end of July.  I am not sure if there's a better name or configuration for this yet but I've had some good luck with it so far.  If nothing else it's just really fun to play for me.
This deck has no duplicates to take advantage of Zephyrs the Great and Sir. Finley of the Sand.

Never posted a deck before so not sure if this is how of the place but feel free to give me constructive feedback.
