Somns Gladiator Guide

Recommended Posts

There's a Gladiator Guide written by Ragebar pinned at the top of the warrior forum.

Gotta love getting other peoples guide promoted where you're trying to promote your own guide. Thanks for that.

I see you listed Unyielding strikes for every single fight.

That being said, could you please make a guide that you follow?

Currently Icy-veins doesn't even have glad spec on the list under warrior. It could be you....

It's on my site. Text and video guides alike. Going to do the last three in highmaul on sunday and I'll have the gladiator specific guide up for them as well.

I guess You didn't get what I meant by saying "A guide that YOU follow"  your guide does not talk about Unyielding strikes basically at all. And the rotation with it is 100% different than without it. So what I was saying is.. please re-make your guide because it's 100% out of date.

Fixed it up a bit. Saying something is 100% out of date because I didn't type up a common sense mechanic is a bit ridiculous. Relax.

Contrary to what you said, the rotation hardly changes. You simply pair Heroic Strike with other abilities preferably within your Shield Charge buff while always making sure to leave enough rage for Shield Charge should it come off cooldown. Then spam away at 5+. Doesn't change it.

Somn's guide is right on point. I do the same exact thing and I am one of the top 2 warriors for every fight so far on the biggest Alliance server up to Imperator. I highly recommend following Somn's page.

Hi Somn !

First of all I want to say that your guide was very helpful ! I love the approach used in it and the way you explain stuff it was very well made tongue.png. I still have a couple of questions so I'll probably hang out in this thread if you don't mind, I need to fully understand this spec and I'm having trouble.

So in every phase you mention to start out with Bloodbath but I guess you meant that we should use that if it is available right ? (Stupid question I know but I'm also wondering if I should keep Bloodbath as a Cooldown when as a raid we need to burst OR just pop it when it is available and I'm about myself to pull out some burst).

Side Note :  I have been a Warrior Tank my whole life on WoW with my Warrior and never played DPS with him at all, but to avoid conflict with other Tank in the guild I had to step down and become a DPS for raids, yet I have done terrible job in Highmaul last week pulling off about ... 11k - 12k at my highest peak thus having me to step down for next raid as I wasn't satisfied with my DPS. Your guide so far already helped me a lot in improving my Rotation and DPS, Thanks ! smile.png

Ah that's not a stupid question at all! The reason that it's at the top of the list is it's essentially a flat 30% boost and when its off cooldown you should be looking to make good use of it. I typically line it up with a Shield Charge buff window and that seems to do the trick, generally.

11-12 is definitely low (don't even think about Heroic Butcher!!), but it'll get higher the more you play Gladiator. It's one of those specs where you have to make a split second decision depending on a number of different factors and only gets better the more comfortable you are.

Thanks ! That makes alot of sense tongue.png

I just did Heroic UBS and managed to pull 14k on Warlord Zaela, not much but at least I'm improving !

I've got a question, most of the time that I have enough Rage for a "Spend Phase" my Revenge is never off cooldown and I'm stuck waiting on it to come back while trying not to use Shield Slam in order to have both ready during my Shield Charge, but Revenge is 9 sec cooldown so I end up with a too much Rage and 2 Charge of Shield Charge, which I think following your guide shouldn't happen any idea on what I am doing wrong ?

Edit : I kinda managed to figure it out on my own and I'm just managing my cooldown better and better and just hit 17k DPS on a Heroic Boss (That's just my max so far on average I now do 15k now biggrin.png) Thank you so much for your guide after only 3 heroics I'm seeing lots of improvement, I've read like 3 other guide and couldn't understand shit in what I was doing wrong while yours really helped me smile.png

You shouldn't ever delay a Shield Slam, even if it's to line it up with a Shield Charge. If anything use the Shield Slam and resume your Devastate spam and hope for a Sword and Board proc. Revenge is a small enough part of your damage that you're far better off simply using Shield Charge when you can fit Shield Slam in it, regardless of where revenge is at.

Never delay a Shield Slam, they make up a huge portion of your damage as well as generate rage. Revenge is a small portion of your damage comparably and shouldn't be worried about too much when trying to line up a Shield Charge.

Omg dude, I started watching your video and I instantly stopped watching due to the music in the background. PLEASE either turn it way the hell down, or choose something that won't make people rip their ears off..

Other than that, nice initiative!

As I've said numerous times... I'm going to rerecord them! The audio was fine on my end and I can still hear it pretty clearly but its probably my speakers. Sorry about all that but jeez, I get it already!

Figured out the problem... I went back into my actual files and it was automatically adjusting gain for some reason. I'll have them all fixed shortly apologies for the inconv-ear-nience!

I believe i got all the videos updated with lower music volume with the exception of the talents/glyphs video as I didn't have them recorded on separate channels. Working on it I promise! or maybe napping.... or maybe not!

Note about your WeakAuras section: if people are playing on WoW client language other than English, they'll need to fix the US bar, SC uptime bar and Enrage bar manually for spell names to match their language.

That's a good catch! I'll update the weakauras page. I didn't even think about that, thanks!

Raid/Class Spots Are Open To Any Applicant If The Player Is The Right Fit
A guild formed with an ambition for progression and a love for M+ we decided to make the move from Silvermoon Alliance and form a guild to take our focus to the next level, Cutting Edge in 10.1 being the next step.
We believe in building a guild by recruit players of a similar goal and mentality whether it be for raiding or for push score in Mythic plus. We value loyalty, honesty and a positive attitude towards setbacks. Communication skills are an absolute must.
      Raid Schedule
      Wednesday 20:30-23:00 Sunday 20:30-23:00
      Current Progression
      9/9HC 5/9M
What are we looking for recruitment wise?
We're currently open to recruiting DPS classes listed above, as we aim to solidify a stable 25-player roster. We're looking to provide competition to existing members and choose the best 25 players to proceed with for next tier.
      Contact Information:
      Discord; tomsen and lora1506
Think you'd be a good fit?
If you believe that you are a player that is looking to achieve the same goals as us then why not contact us and see if we can achieve our goals together!

<Fun is for Casuals> is a serious but casual horde guild on US-Hyjal. We are serious about raiding without the intense hours. Even when recruitment status is none, we will accept exceptional applications for all classes.
Our raid times are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30PM to 8:30PM server (PST) with raid invitations sent out a few minutes prior to that.
We're interested in you if you fit the following criteria:
Raid attendance is essential. We don't want people sitting on the bench but we also want to make sure we're raiding 6 hours per week. We expect you to be available for at least 90% of our raids. Be on time and prepared for raids. This includes flasks and other consumables. Discord is mandatory and a working mic is desired. You're appropriately geared for our current content. Effort and thought have been put into your gear/gem/enchant choices. You wouldn't show up for a job interview looking like a *filtered*, why would you apply to a guild with improper gems or some insane spec? You're up to date with your class. We expect our raiders to perform to the best of their abilities. You have a computer that's not run with hamster power or requires a hand crank. Some encounters are taxing on a computer's resources so if your toon can't even handle Orgrimmar it's not likely to do well with 20+ whelps that need AOE'ing. You may be interested in us because:
<Fun is for Casuals> uses the personal loot system. There is no loot council, or DKP. We won't eat your babies the first time you stand in something you have no business being in. Repeatedly do it and we'll break out the bibs and BBQ sauce. We provide a limited amount of consumables and flasks on hard mode raid nights.  Discord isn't a circus during raids. We're focused on the job at hand and you should be too. We don't want someone to miss a an interrupt because they were distracted by fart jokes. We are not interested in you if you fit the following criteria:
You roll on BoE items then sell them. Unwilling/unable to spend an entire evening on one boss during progression. While this is rare, it can happen. Drama queens. If you have a problem bring it up to E. This is his job. Don't announce it in guild chat or during a raid. Your issue will have nothing to do with 99% of the guild. You are 17 or younger. We try to keep guild and discord chat PG-13 but occasionally a few four letter words appear out of nowhere. Additionally, we don't want someone's mom interrupting their raiding to get homework or the dishes done. Follow the instructions at https://gow.gg/fun-is-for-casuals under the Recruitment tab if you would like to apply.

Welcome Adventurers! The time has come upon us, FINALLY! The moment in Classic WoW history us diehard, loyal WoW nerds have all been waiting for. WRATH CLASSIC! Arthas Did Nothing Wrong (ADNW) has just begun recruiting (For WotLK Classic) hard-core, casual, rp, pvp, pve, raiders, anything you can think of, you are welcomed here. Although our main focus in ADNW will be progressive raiding, 10 and 25 man and pvp content, we look to have someone for just about anything. Currently we are recruiting for our CORE 10M team composed entirely of irl / internet homies. We are in need of just 1 HEALER (Highly prefer a disc priest with a shadow off spec) and another DPS. Preferably lock or Shadow priest. We are looking to fill our B 10m team entirely, so we can pool together for 25 man’s when it comes time to crush 25m. This guild was founded by a group of tight nit friends recently, who have been around since TBC. WOTLK was our turning point in WoW, and we CANNOT wait to get another crack at this and MAKE IT RIGHT. Come join the adventure of a chill environment full of helpful hands and knowledge. Feel free to reach out to me Via Discord: Daevilmonkiexp#9239 OR Bnet: Daevilmonkie#1280 just let me know you are interested in the guild and we can have a convo! ARTHAS DID NOTHING WRONG!
