Spec Choices.

3 posts in this topic

What's up guys! (And Gals')

I wanted to get a general feedback on how the specs are doing and what people are running.

I leveled my rogue as Assassination and had a good amount of fun with it but decided to switch because of dagger drops in Highmaul being quite low and my luck being shiet.

I switched to Sub and did quite well and than also wanted to try out combat. Currently on the Sims Sub is the highest atm, But I usually don't bother seeing how sims are doing because they are basically useless in my eyes. But I like to get a good idea on where the basis of the spec is.

So I want to hear how other specs are doing. Currently with Combat I'm running around 20-22k On single target. Obv cleave and AoE is much better and higher with combat. Sub I was pushing around 20-26k single target with AoE going decently well as well with the new way FoK works. I haven't tried Assassination yet in a raid but before I switched gems and chants for it. I wanted to hear if anyone has been playing assassination for Highmaul progression and how the dmg is?

My armory is : http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/anvilmar/Realsneaky/simple

And some recent logs are: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/Vat34THxFch8Z6dM/

In hopes of maybe some feedback on how I'm doing and what I could be improving since I am new to rogue come this xpac. (at least maining one).

Sorry I know this post had a lot in it. But I wanted to cover all the bases, Thanks!

According to this, which analyzes raid data from the first week Highmaul was open, all three Rogue specs are raid viable right now. Each spec has certain fights in Highmaul that it's best at. If you just count the number of bosses that each spec does best at, Subtlety and Combat are tied with 3 bosses, with Assassination behind at only one boss (so if you're going to dual-spec and switch specs between bosses, Combat/Sub is probably the way to go right now), but if you average out the damage done by each spec across all seven Highmaul bosses, they're all within about 1% of each other overall, so if you want to just stick with a single spec, it doesn't really matter which one of the three you choose.

Pretty much this.

Whichever spec you have the most fun as will be better for you in the long run, cause you'll be more eager to improve. That said, I think that Sub currently has the best tools to perform well on the most fights, but Combat has more chances for weapons in Highmaul

      Hi All!
First, I want to thank everyone who contributes here - this has become an outstanding resource and the fact that everyone is willing to help each other is great to see :)
So, my performance can definitely use improving all around, but most especially on multi-target fights like Illy or Cenarius.  I would love feedback for single target as well, but multi is where the biggest lift is.

      Here is my armory:

      http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/stormrage/Proditio/simple
And here are logs to last week's raids:

      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/q4xH3jJRBaG17FQW

      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/K43r61xmcHRfjDBd
I know uptime/active time will tie into the multi-target fight improvement, but I'm wondering if is anything else to focus on?   Best way to switch targets outside of tabbing?  Changing my setup to use gaming mouse with keybinds vs. keyboard?  Using macros and if so, what?  I currently use WA for debuff and ability warnings.
      Thanks in advance!

      Hello Community,
I am an experienced Mage player since BC, however I am not satisfied with my mage Damage as it is at the moment:

Would you point out possible Improvements or grave mistakes visible in the logs?

      Thank you very much!

Hello, so I started playing DK at the launch of legion, and have enjoyed it so far. I was initially unholy but then changed to frost recently, and am enjoying both specs except for one thing, namely my performance. So there are three frost DK's in my raid and lately the other two are always towards the top of the meter while I'm towards the bottom. There is no large gear difference (I think they both have a couple ilvls on me, but I have the legendary belt), so I was wondering what I was doing wrong. Upon looking at logs I found they both casted significantly more spells than me on all fronts (FS, obliterate, etc.). I also noticed that I need to keep icy talons up more, but can someone tell me why I'm casting so many fewer spells than them (there is no large haste difference, the armory has us all at 30something% haste, even though one of them (Hungerghost) and I only have 20something, and I'm sure the same applies to the other DK), or if there is some other problem, then what is it and how can I fix it? Thanks.
