Genshin Song of the Welkin Moon

Travelers, mark your calendars, for a new story unfolds today, as HoYoverse reveals the Genshin Impact Version 6.0 content, titled “Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue, A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves.” This version is also called Luna I.

This livestream drops exclusive details about the much-anticipated Nod-Krai region, alongside new characters, events, quality-of-life updates, and limited-time redemption codes for Primogems and other various onuses.

Here is a recap of all the upcoming content, features, and more!

Nod-Krai

Nod-Krai is the new upcoming zone! In Version Luna I, the Traveler is joining Varka in the new zone in order to investigate. Nod-Krai is home to a power older and purer than the seven elements, and there is a lot to uncover!

The factions better watch out! There is about to be a new face in town! Meet the Frostmoon Scions, Lightkeepers, and the Wild Hunt.

And with the heavenly principles and Harbingers planning in the dark, one question remains: What is the price, of killing a god?

The Traveler will head to the exact spot where their spaceship landed when they first arrived on Teyvat. Where it all began! What is the Moon Goddess up to? What are the harbinger Planning? And what is the Travelers’ role in all of this? The moon, can be treacherous, and mysteries are just waiting to be unfolded!

In Nash Town, your new hub, you will encounter a peculiar creature that will act like a tour guide. Its name is Kuuhenki, and they are a bit similar to bigger Seelies. They will allow you to take on special challenges and more!

Nod-Krai has another Core concept. Similar to Phlogiston and Primordial Sea, Nod-Krai hosts a special power known as Kuuvahki. At its heart, it is one of the most ancient, primordial form of elemental energy.

Kuuvahki can be broken down into distinct elemental forces. In essence, it is the power of the Light Realm, the original state of light before dispersion takes place. It is also a power that is used every day in Nod-Krai. You can find a ton of Kuuvahki devices all over Nasha Town!

For example, in the Rossum Workshop, you can exchange 5 Nod-Krai style weapon blueprints.

Dori has also come to Nod-Krai! The best place to get exclusive info from, if you have Mora to spend.

Kuuvahki also shapes the climate, soil, terrain, and other aspects of Nod-Krai. It manifests in different ways in different parts of the area. The living creatures naturally change quite a bit because of it as well. The monsters can also harness Kuuvahki for their own power!

As the Traveler makes it to Nod-Krai, you will also be able to tap into Kuuvahki to navigate through the area, solve puzzles and complete challenges!

Because of Kuuvahki, Nod-krai characters do not seem to use just a Vision. Similar to Ineffa, some of them have what is called a “Moon Wheel“. This device draws power from Teyvat’s Three Moons. Whoever holds it has the ability to command Kuuvahki!

Since the source of power is different from that of Visions, the rules for elemental reactions have also changed. These altered reactions are called Lunar reactions! We already know the first one as it was introduced with Ineffa, Lunar-Charged, but more new reactions will be introduced in future patches!

The first additional Lunar reaction introduced with Luna I is:

  • Lunar-Bloom reaction:
    • The goal here is a sort of redistribution of roles within the party. Some characters focus on accumulating resources, while others handle resource conversion.
    • Lunar-Bloom adds a new rule on top of the existing Bloom gameplay. When the party triggers a Bloom reaction, they accumulate a shared resource called Verdant Dew. Characters with Lunar-Bloom abilities not only allow the party to accumulate Verdant Dew, but also utilize is in different ways. Verdant Dew can then be consumed by the character to do various effects (such as increasing DMG for example). It also means you can deal Lunar-Bloom DMG.
