Tighnari is a 5-star Dendro Bow user from the Avidya Forests in Sumeru. Released in version 3.0, Tighnari is a ranged DPS character with strong Charged Attacks and Dendro abilities who excels with single target damage.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Fantastic On-field DPS.
- Great Dendro Application.
- Amazing Elemental Trigger.
- Able To Play At Ranged.
- Does Not Support Other Characters.
- Primarily Single Target Damage.
Tighnari Main DPS Build
Tighnari's primary method of damage comes from his Charge attacks and his Elemental Burst. He is quite sought after for Quicken and Aggravate teams with great Elemental Mastery scaling and the ability to apply Dendro quite consistently with his abilities. His Energy Recharge requirements are quite straight forward with 150% ER for a single skill per burst. Tighnari is incredibly flexible and a great choice for a ranged DPS.

Hunter's Path is a great 5-star weapon for Tighnari, providing a boost to CRIT Rate and a flat Elemental DMG boost for his charged attacks which can stack up to 160% of his Elemental Mastery. As for weapon alternatives, both the Aqua Simulacra and Polar Star offer CRIT stats with the Simulacra is focused around CRIT DMG and Polar Star around CRIT RATE as well as a damage boosting passive skills for each of them. As for non 5-star alternatives, the 3-star Slingshot offers a great F2P choice or the Scion of the Blazing Sun for a 4-star choice.
Update 5.0 had added the Chain Breaker bow as new option for Tighnari to boost his ATK % based on the chosen party makeup. However, Tighnari builds tend to focus on Elemental Mastery and CRIT Rate stacking rather than solely boosting ATK Damage. While this needs to be tested further, this 4-star weapon can be farmed up to Rank 5 without the need for wishes which makes this weapon a competitive choice for him with close to a 30% boost to ATK Damage.
As for Tighnari's artifacts generally the 4-piece Deepwood Memories is going to work with him, unless you have another Dendro team member using the set. In that case, use Gilded Dreams or Wanderer's Troupe as it is the next best choice. This decision can play into your weapon selection somewhat as the passive bonus for Wanderer's is an unconditional buff while Gilded Dreams set offers a more custom buff depending on your team composition.
Combos and How to Play Tighnari
Tighnari is a very straight forward ranged user focused around Charged Attacks with limited roles for anything other than a Dendro DPS. Similar to Ganyu's charge attacks, Tighnari has two stages of his Charged Attack. The first phase is a standard Dendro charge shot, similar to any other bow user in the game. His second stage Charged Attack fires normally with a Dendro strike of damage, but then transforms into multiple projectiles to home in on the enemy. These additional projectiles will still track to a nearby enemy even if the initial hit is missed. The drawback to his second staged Charged Attack is the delay while you prepare your shot. However, this is where Tighnari's abilities offer a fantastic synergy with his charged attacks.
His Elemental Skill, Vijnana-Phala Mine, creates a field of Dendro energy that produces illusions to taunt the enemies inside the AoE, taking the focus off of Tighnari. It also grants him the Vijnana Suffusion effect which grants him a rapid charge time for three of his charged attacks. This buff is represented by green orbs that float around him and stay with him even after he is swapped out, helping to setup some great Elemental Reactions with his teammates before having to use his rapid charged attacks. This is particular effective within Quicken and Aggravate teams. His Elemental Burst, Fashioner's Tanglevine Shaft is a series of 6 Dendro attacks that can be focused on a single target or multiple enemies, allowing for some flexibility with it's use.
Tighnari's Best Team Comps
Tighnari works well with quickswap teams, focusing on teammates who have short on-field time with abilities that can stay on-field or buff Tighnari's damage. The ideal team will be a combination of other Electro and Dendro aligned characters to support him while he fights on-field. Tighnari does not synergize well with characters who require extensive on-field time or require Normal attacks to trigger reactions.
Double Electro Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Shielder |
---|---|---|---|
Tighnari | Fischl | Yae Miko | Zhongli |
A very straight forward team with two great off-field Electro characters for Tighnari to create reactions with. Both Fischl and Yae Miko have turret like abilities that can target enemies on the battlefield and dish out some decent Electro damage, Fischl also helps to act as a battery for Yae. Zhongli helps to provide Tighnari with shielding, Elemental RES Shred and Interruption REs so he can perform his rotations quite easily.
Tighnari Aggravate Swirl Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Support | Swirl Support |
---|---|---|---|
Tighnari | Fischl | Kuki Shinobu | Kaedehara Kazuha |
For this Aggravate team, Tighnari is our main DPS with the majority of his time on-field using charged attacks and his Elemental Burst, Fashioner's Tanglevine Shaft, constantly hitting the enemies with Dendro. Kuki Shinobu and Fischl are great off-field supports for both damage and healing, applying Electro to create Aggravate, Kaedehara Kazuha can add Swirl Electro on the field and buff the team's damage.
Tighnari Quickbloom
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Tighnari | Raiden Shogun | Furina | Baizhu |
This Quickbloom team has such fantastic synergy with all of its teammates. Furina's creates an added buff for Tighnari to take advantage of through her Fanfare stacks from her Elemental Burst. Baizhu helps to keep our Dendro application going on-field as well as grants bonus damage towards any bloom reactions and has a nice shield/off-heal mechanic to help the team with survivability. Lastly, Raiden Shogun adds powerful Electro damage with great Electro Application as well as helping this team regenerate their Elemental Bursts more quickly.
