wow HotS: Balance Update Next Week (March 1)

We had no balance update this week, but we are getting a small one next week (on March 1) along with the new patch. Here are the details.

Nova's Snipe ability is getting a small buff, while Rehgar is receiving further nerfs that will make him more on the same level as the other Support characters.

Blizzard Icon Spyrian

We are planning to release a new patch for Heroes of the Storm next week on Tuesday, March 1. In addition to the game content this patch will contain, it will also include a few balance changes for Nova and Rehgar. Check out the upcoming adjustments and developer comments below:

Nova

Snipe (Q)
  • Damage increased from 295 (+4% per level) to 310 (+4% per level)
  • Snipe Master (Talent)
    • Damage bonus per stack increased from 12% to 15%. This effect can still stack up to 5 times

Developer Comment: We are continuing to tune Snipe Master to make it a more attractive choice, assuming you are consistently landing your Snipes.

Rehgar

Lightning Shield (W)

  • Electric Charge (Talent)
    • Bonus to Lightning Shield radius decreased from 33% to 25%
    • Stormcaller (Talent)
      • No longer increases Lightning Shield duration
    • Earthshield (Talent)
      • Shield amount reduced from 15% to 12% of the target’s maximum Health

Ancestral Healing ( R )

  • Cooldown increased from 80 to 100 seconds

Bloodlust ( R )

  • Mana cost reduced from 125 to 75

Developer Comment: The initial round of Rehgar nerfs weren’t quite enough to bring his winrate down to a level that we think is healthy. We like that his base kit feels powerful, so we are aiming to reduce the synergy between his Lightning Shield Talents. We are also increasing Ancestral Healing’s cooldown to better reflect the healing power it brings to a teamfight. The Bloodlust Mana change is simply a quality of life improvement. Overall, we enjoy how Rehgar plays right now, and are excited to see him bring other Heroes, such as Illidan, back into prominence. With that in mind, we’re aiming to cautiously nerf Rehgar over time as we bring this Shaman in line with other Healers.

"we’re aiming to cautiously nerf Rehgar"

You gotta be kidding me, they buff a hero to a point where it is a 100% pick in ranked with a high win rate (like rehgar), and then they start nerfing it to the GROUND where the hero drops out of the meta!!

Now next stop is Illidan, illidan gets buffs, jumps into team fights, kills all, win rates starts to increase, then they realize that they buffed him too much, now is the time to nerf illidan and kick him out of meta again. LOL

There is no stability in this game like this, you can't fall for any hero. just like World of Warcraft, when you try and learn Monk and do great in raids, they nerf it and your guild asks you to play something else.

Blizz can't beat League of Legends, to get their most played game of the month back, if they keep this constant change of meta. People start to hate the game when they can't win with Nova or Gazlowe. Then they change to Illidan and now he's at the bottom without a good comp. Then people buy Raynor because it's op and easy, one nerf and he's out too. It's just frustrating.

Even in the last night's game, Could 9 couldn't do anything with illidan on their side.

18 micro-holidays tested over the next 3 weeks, you're sure to find a few that you'll love!

The micro-holidays that are being introduced in 7.1.5 are going to be tested in the next 3 weeks and, as a lot of them won't be seen on live for months and months after the patch launches, jumping on the PTR and taking a look now is a great way to see which you should look forward to or care about! With 18 holidays available you're sure to find a few that are just right for you - personally I'm betting on Call of the Scarab for those sweet "world server down" memories of opening the AQ gates.

Beginning tomorrow, December 6, we plan to begin testing of the new Micro-Holiday events being added in Patch 7.1.5. One event will be tested each day for the next few weeks, and we’d love to hear your feedback on them.
The testing schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, December 06: Call of the Scarab
Wednesday, December 07: Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl
Thursday, December 08: Love is in the Air
Friday, December 09: Hatching of the Hippogryphs
Saturday, December 10: March of the Tadpoles
Sunday, December 11: Volunteer Guard Day
Monday, December 12: Spring Balloon Festival
      Tuesday, December 13: Glowcap Festival
      Wednesday, December 14: Un'goro Madness
Thursday, December 15: Call of the Scarab
Friday, December 16: Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl
Saturday, December 17: Love is in the Air
Sunday, December 18: Hatching of the Hippogryphs
Monday, December 19: March of the Tadpoles
Tuesday, December 20: Volunteer Guard Day
Wednesday, December 21: Spring Balloon Festival
      Thursday, December 22: Glowcap Festival
      Friday, December 23: Un'goro Madness
As these events open, we’ll be starting up new threads to gather feedback on them. Please share any of your thoughts there. Thanks!

The Trial of Valor Mythic top 20 is done and Method's Final Boss interview is also here!

The Trial of Valor race is slowing down and the top 20 has formed! As Wowprogress doesn't track Chinese guilds the standings below are a little different, but the progress coverage over at Method.gg checked in with Chinese sources and made the rankings right:

Method, this time the guild, also had a big interview with Final Boss and talked about their No.1 spot, the split with Serenity and Legion in general:

Na'zak graces us with extra loot this week and also has the recipe for Rank 3 Potion of Prolonged Power.

It seems we get double World Bosses this week as Na'zak the Fiend has arrived in Suramar (on both US and EU servers). Blue posts confirm this is not a bug, but it also doesn't seem exactly intended (at least originally), as there was a bug where you could loot him multiple times that's already been fixed. Whether this is a new schedule of World Boss spawns that will give us more than one per week (or a chance at more than one) hasn't been announced so it might just have been one of those things that slipped through the cracks.
Edit: And here's further confirmation, making it sound like this particular boss was special.
In any case, he drops Rank 3 of Recipe: Potion of Prolonged Power as well as:
Avalanche Resistant Legplates Dessicated Leather Pants Leystone Nugget Loop of Polished Pebbles Mana-Dowsing Ring Na'zak's Dusty Pantaloons Venomscarred Chain Leggings

Hello, so I started playing DK at the launch of legion, and have enjoyed it so far. I was initially unholy but then changed to frost recently, and am enjoying both specs except for one thing, namely my performance. So there are three frost DK's in my raid and lately the other two are always towards the top of the meter while I'm towards the bottom. There is no large gear difference (I think they both have a couple ilvls on me, but I have the legendary belt), so I was wondering what I was doing wrong. Upon looking at logs I found they both casted significantly more spells than me on all fronts (FS, obliterate, etc.). I also noticed that I need to keep icy talons up more, but can someone tell me why I'm casting so many fewer spells than them (there is no large haste difference, the armory has us all at 30something% haste, even though one of them (Hungerghost) and I only have 20something, and I'm sure the same applies to the other DK), or if there is some other problem, then what is it and how can I fix it? Thanks.
