heroes Haunted Mines Rework Spotlight

5 posts in this topic

Haunted Mines have returned in the latest patch and they are available as this week's brawl until Thursday. Blizzard has released a spotlight of the reworked map as it's back on rotation.

The last time Blizzard talked about the Haunted Mines was at this year's BlizzCon, where they mentioned their plans to bring it back before the end of the year.

Do you like the reworked map more than the original?

This rework is REALLY good. It used to be one of my favorite because of forcing team fights, and still keeps that intact but makes it much less punishing to lose the first or even second golem. In the old map, one bad golem was likely game over. They made the small camps important enough that they are worth fighting over (70 skulls from small) especially if you can get a clean pick.

I do think there are too many siege camps up top, but I'm not sure how to fix that. I wish they could have 3 merc camps, but not sure how to do that without either RNG on direction or over-pushing one lane. They clearly learned from the immortal map and did a great redesign. Glad to have it back.

Agreed. At least people that didn't play previously can also finally sort of understand why I missed this map so much!

Finally.  I have been waiting for this for awhile and I have to say the rework is great!  I always enjoyed this map and the brawl reminded me about that.

I feel like I'm stepping out of the dark into the light, seeing all these fresh faced players getting so hyped about the new map. I'm at the back just like rubbing my hands together: "Finally."

A new in-development video previews Valeera's abilities, several new skins and three mounts!
Blizzard has released a new in-development video on the Heroes of the Storm YouTube channel. Earlier today, they teased with Thistle Tea on Twitter. Maybe Valeera will use Energy as a resource and Sinister Strike will generate combo points. Eviscerate would deal damage based on the number of combo points she has.
      Valeera Abilities
She seems to be a faithful copy of WoW's assassination rogue. Here are her abilities based on WoW tooltips to give you a better idea of her kit.
      [D] -  Vanish (Trait)
      [Q] - Sinister Strike
      [W] - Blade Flurry
      [E] - Eviscerate
      [R1] - Smoke Bomb
      R2 - Cloak of Shadows
Valeera also comes with a "Demon Hunter" skin that will be part of a bundle. The skin has themed abilities.
      New Skins
Master Valeera Demon Hunter Valeera Lunar Li-Ming Monkey King Samuro New Mounts
      Felsaber

      Nimbus Cloud

      Lunar Rooster

Blizzard announced on Twitter that Valeera arrives on Public Test Realm tomorrow.
Zul'jin got released without testing, but Valeera is hitting PTR soon and she will probably go live the week after. We'll be adding her abilities and talents once they become available. Remember, if you purchase a Hero on PTR, it will automatically unlock for the region of your choice when the patch goes live.

After the free Hero weekend, the standard rotation returns with 10 new Heroes that have been selected for gameplay, it's weird that it matches the rotation that Blizzard posted last week, but they decided to change last week's rotation on short notice.
