Best Alliance PvE Arcane Mage Race?

9 posts in this topic

For Arcane Mage PvE race.

I hear that Panda food buff is better then Gnome mana pool.

Thoughts or math on this, and any other comment as to the best race for PvE Ali Arcmage.

well panda's racials are quite OP and mana doesn't really matters anymore due the fact you or regen it mega quick and/or use the mana regen ability quite a lot so i'd presonally think panda over gnome.

Might also consider weapon choice depending on race. Thanks to dagger spec racial you can get more than just a little extra mana.

That is gnome, right? I pretty much just play horde now.

well ofc but 1% hit (due the 1% expertise you get from the gnome racial with 1handed swords and daggers) over dubble food mmmm i know what i'll choose lol :P and even at this part of the game i'm struggling to not get over hit capped haha :)

I love being able to shoot way over the hit cap with expertise. That means the rating can be used in other places to maximize say... crit or haste!

well y haha, it's true but i noticed that the food bonus you get from panda is quite stronger then the 1% hit due you not only get more sp you also get more crit and not sure how much crit points you need and not sure how much % crit per int you get at lvl but it seems that the food buff have 2advantages over 1 in my opinion

1% hit = 340 hit points. If you are using good int food you get +300 int. Clearly the +300 int > 340 hit so yes, panda is a better option than gnome that for. The only thing gnome has is the extra mana, however, mana doesn't appear to be much of an issue for mages in MoP (especially not max. mana pool).

A wand is the current BiS weapon and I would never count on the expertise bonus of races due to the BiS weapon always changing and rarely being what you want it to be for your race.

So Panda (for now) if you are trying to maximize.

My personal suggestion however is to play the race you like the looks of. The racial benefits are very minor in the scheme of things and you have to look at your character 100% of the time. So simply play what you like. Posted Image

<the password is mattress> on Korgath (US) Alliance is looking to recruit some additional members to fill out our raid roster for Legion.

We are a friendly guild that is looking to do some more casual raiding (8 hrs/wk). However, we do fully expect that content will be taken seriously. If you are new to raiding or are looking for something a little bit more relaxed, we are the guild for you.
Our raid times are Tuesday and Thursday, 8 - 12pm Central (Server) time. Mythic+ content will take place at another time.
We are currently looking for all roles to fill up our roster and complete some Mythic raids.
Not interested in raiding?  We are still interested in having you join us. We are more than happy to have you join Mythic+ content, or even just to have a social group to enjoy the game with.
You can contact me here or via my BattleTag, Denis#1247 or the raid leader, Haidian#1613.

      History:
Emerald Nightmare Mythic - Realm 10

      Who are we?:
Complexity is a new guild that was formed on Silvermoon in the start of Legion.
We refer to ourselves as semi-hardcore which means we keep a 3-days a week raid time but when we actually raid we put a lot of hard work and effort into it.

Our current team is a strong core from a former Mythic guild and we've been playing a long time with eachother. Since we are new however we need additional players that will embrace this friendship and be a part of it!

Even if we only raid 3-days a week we usually keep another day for Heroic clear for either Alts or Mains. They are optional and are put on Thursdays, same raid time as the other raids.

      What do we expect?:
We only raid 3-days a week which means we expect very high attendance from our raiders. If something is keeping you from attending we will accept it as long as you give us a heads up on the forums or in-game so that we can plan for it. We don't want to arrive to the raid without an replacement.

We also expect that you are fully prepared once the raid starts. Besides general knowledge about your class we want you to have the best enchants on your gear, flasks, food and potions. Also keep some tomes in your bag in-case you need to change talents mid-raid. In the future we will build up some sort of Guild-bank that supports our players with the tomes.

We hope that you can be somewhat active even outside raiding hours even if it's not a requirement. Our players play a lot with eachother in Mythic dungeons which means it would be lovely if you can join in on this. It builds strong bonds with the players which we value highly.

      What do you get?:
A professional and fun raiding enviroment with a coordinated lead that has a focus on letting everyone feel like a part of the team. We value players opinions and always listen to what they have to say. One person can't know everything! Our raid times are also very strict and we never extend the raid more than 15 minutes. We may start earlier but that is just to clear trash early so we can get started on the boss when the raid actually starts. To be there early is of course not mandatory.

We also offer opportunities for you to make some gold with us, every thursday we run a heroic clear participate in the clear to line those pockets! players who manage to find extra buyers will be rewarded for the effort

      How do we handle Loot:
We use RCLootCouncil to distribute loot. Usually we keep around 5 council members which leads to a fair voting. As a Trial you will have lower priority than Raiders during your 6 raids trial period.

      Raiding Schedule:
The following times are Server time.

      Wednesday 19:30-23:00
      Thursday 19:30-23:00 (Optional)
      Sunday 19:30-23:00
      Monday 19:30-23:00

Below you find the link to our website were you can apply to the Guild.

      Hey there!
I've recently started playing a mage, and I feel like my performance is a little below where it should be right now... I feel like I have the basics of the fire rotation down, but I really want to make any improvements that I can.. I don't really know where i'm going wrong, or what i'm doing that is causing a gap in numbers between me and similarly geared players. I have a log from a normal Xavius fight from earlier, maybe someone could take a look at it and point out any mistakes or give a few pointers?
      Thanks for your time!

      Guild Info:
[Emerald Dream][A] <Scrub Squad> is a casual raiding guild, currently at 7/7H 3/3N 2/3H. We need a few more solid people to start Mythic!

      Raid Times:
Our raid nights are Tuesday/Thursday from 8-12pm eastern.

We're looking for people wanting to have fun while raiding and downing content. - No stress.
We are looking for ranged and melee DPS for Mythic Progression.
Also we run Mythic + all week and have several groups downing 11's and 12's. We hope to get up to 15 soon!
      Currently looking for:
      Tanks: No demand
Melee DPS: Low demand (Warrior, Havoc, Windwalker, or anyone exceptional)
Ranged DPS: High demand (Mage, Hunter, Shadow Priest, Warlock, anyone exceptional)
      Healers: No demand
We're at 19 members looking to get a few more to sit around 20-23. New members should be ilevel 860+ but that's not firm.

      About Our Current Members:
Most have extensive raiding backgrounds, and some come from previous hardcore raiding guilds. We're looking for a casual environment for less stressful and more fun raiding.

      What Want In Members:
Reliable - At least 80% attendance
      Friendly - fun loving!
Self-motivated - players who can look up boss fights and class information on their own. With limited raiding time we can't afford to spend it all explaining boss mechanics multiple times.
Chill - we're not looking for people who cause drama or place blame on people for failure.
Attitude - Don't be a jerk, not just to guildies, but to everyone.
Mature, Thick skinned - we can say some pretty offensive jokes.
Ideally skilled - but that's something that can be helped.
On the Emerald Dream server, or willing to transfer. For running Mythic raids, players have to be on our server.
Feel free to pop into our recruitment discord to talk to an officer or leave a message!
