Happy Midnight release day! World of Warcraft’s newest expansion is finally here, and it’s shaping up to be one of Blizzard’s best yet. As with every expansion, the level cap has increased, with 90 being the new maximum.

Your First 90

For your first character, we definitely recommend taking it a little slower. Do the campaign. Explore the zones. Take your time to really soak it in. You will also need to progress through the campaign on one character to unlock Voidstorm, the final Midnight zone.

However, if you’re looking to speed up the leveling for your alts (or for your new Haranir characters), then here’s what we suggest doing.

Levelling Alts in Midnight

Midnight has brought ten new delves, with eight currently available—and these are a fantastic way to level your alts.

The Strategy

Each new delve will offer a Delver’s Call quest. The strategy here is to complete a world tour of delves, completing these quests as you go, however, do not hand them in yet.

The reward XP for these quests scale with your character’s level. Turning them in at a higher level will reward more XP. War Mode will also increase the amount of experience gained from these quests by a further 25%.

The Darkmoon Faire is currently on until Saturday 7th March, so collecting the WHEE! iconWHEE! Buff, and using items such as the Battle Standard of Coordination iconBattle Standard of Coordination is also recommended.

This method will not be enough to take you from 80-90, however, waiting until around level 88 to hand in these quests will speed up those grueling last levels.

Professions

You can also pick up your professions alongside this for some extra XP. Mining and Herbalism can make some easy gold along the side. Using collected cloth to perform Tailoring first crafts will grant extra experience. Enchanting is also a good choice as you can disenchant any gear you pick up along the way.
