Hearthstone's Senior Game Designer, Ben Brode, streamed live on Twitch on Tuesday night. Unfortunately there is no VoD of the event. It was a short Hearthstone stream and he played at rank 25. The stream peaked at around 1320 viewers and lasted forty minutes. It was titled: "New F2P Account!".

Brode, who admitted he didn't know much about streaming, apparently struggled to keep up with a very spammy chat on his first attempt. Anyone who has seen a busy Twitch chat will not be surprised by this. He did find the time to mention that they have tested some community made cards. He gave an example of a card called "Spirit Healer" in Shaman. There are two versions of this card that I can find, and it is not clear which one was tested, but it is good that they are looking at community efforts. They also tested a card that puts the last spell you cast back into your hand, but it kept putting itself back into the hand. It seems odd they couldn't fix this, so it was probably just an amusing anecdote rather than the reason it wasn't printed.

Hopefully he will take the time to stream again now that he knows what to expect. He only played one game, which he won. It is likely that this was a test for the future. He appeared to be having fun, so hopefully he takes some feedback and advice, sets up a stricter chat, and is back sooner rather than later.

Dear Ben Brode,

next time you make up some "fun" and "new" thing like the "exciting" standard format - pls dont.

Thank You,

Best regards

TH

Mean Streets of Gadgetzan's launch on the NA server had a bug in the drop rates of tri-class cards. Players who opened bugged packs will be getting good compensation.
The bug meant that tri-class cards appeared more often than they should, which meant that players who opened cards before the hotfix at 2:30pm PST (10:30 CET) on December 1 were disadvantaged in their packs. Blizzard have not only fixed the bug, but are giving all players who opened Mean Streets of Gadgetzan packs before this time a total of 33% extra packs, rounded up.
CM Zeriyah gave a series of examples here.
      CM Zeriyah
For example, if a player opened their 50 pack pre-purchase bundle before 2:30PM PST, they will receive 17 additional packs. (33% of 50)
If a player opened one pack of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards and completed a Quest that awards two packs before 2:30PM PST, they will receive one additional pack. (33% of 3)
If a player opened 47 packs before 2:30PM PST, and 23 packs after 2:30PM PST, they will receive 16 additional packs. (33% of 47 affected packs) This compensation only applies to the Americas server, as the issue was fixed before packs were available on the other servers. As a point of interest, the post also clarifies that the contents of packs are generated upon opening, not purchase.
