Timewalking Dungeons

4 posts in this topic

Gear scale accordingly in Timewalking dungeons to the item level of the expansion, so I was wondering if I used the inv_weapon_glave_01.jpgWarglaive of Azzinoth in BC expansions and inv_axe_113.jpgShadowmourne in WotlK dungeons, will it be better than current gear?

If I went back to BC and WotlK dungeons to farm gear, that the gear I get there won't be scaled down and will become BiS gear.

If this is true, does anyone have the BiS lists for BC and WotlK?

Also, if I use stave_2h_tarecgosa_e_01stagefinal.jpgDragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest in BC and WotlK dungeons, will it also be OP?

They only scale down, not up. So Warglaives would be useless in WotLK+, Shadowmourne in Cata+, and Dragonwrath in MoP+. But you could use Dragonwrath in BC or WotLK and have it own face.

From what I've seen the weapon damage is being scaled to roughly (with in a few DPS) of current weapons scaled down, at least that is what it was doing for me and my bow. The PROC from the old weapons is what is OP. If you're a hunter, you're screwed since the proc was free ammo...a proc that was made useless when ammo was removed.

The other procs though are very good.

For farming the gear...I don't know if it will do much good. I think it is all fairly normalized. Even if the gear from then WAS BiS for Timewalking, Timewalking is so easy I don't see it doing any good. But if you want to try it out, go for it.

So I finally got stave_2h_tarecgosa_e_01stagefinal.jpgDragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest last week (YEAH!!!), and attempted to take it on a test drive in the TW dungeons, got NO procs. Checked the forums and saw that Fangs of the Father is also not working.

I know this is a necro thread, but it was on the first page of a google search concerning Timewalking BiS.

While it is correct that they do not scale up, it is incorrect to say they are useless, at least for Shadowmourne.  Shadowmourne is still BiS for Cata TW because of the sockets, procs, and the ilvl that cata TW is scaled down to.  It is slightly lower ilvl, and as such, DPS stat on the weapon, but its other features still make it BiS.

No idea for Glaives, and the other examples don't apply as there are no MoP TW (yet) and the stat squish didn't effect its content.

Has Anyone Simcrafted the Darkmoon Deck: Hellfire Trinket at 7/7 850? how does it compare to other tinkets?

I just had a look at the suggested "BiS" list, and considering Mastery is our top stat priority, why are the following rings suggested:
Mindrend Band + Grubby Silver Ring
      Instead of:
Mindrend Band + Dreadful Cyclopean Signet ?
Is it simply to give us some Versatility, considering Grubby Silver Ring is the only item on our suggested BiS list that actually has Versatility? Or is it mainly to provide us with additional Crit, considering Crit is our second secondary stat? But then again, Twice-Warped Azsharan Signet should be a better choice since it has even more Crit, in addition to Haste (which has a greater stat priority than Versatility). Unless Grubby Silver Ring has been chosen specifically just to provide us with some Versatility, that is.
I know the BiS list is more of a guideline, but I'm genuinely curious about this choice when there seems to be two better options from the same raid tier.
      Am I missing something here?

Greetings fellow warlocks and theorycrafters, I need your help with something
I recently got the Naraxas Spiked Tongue trinket (840), but I'm not sure its an upgrade.
Heres a link to my armory:
Here's a link to the items I'm considering: (Only does 158,261 proc damage on live it seems) (1073 Int, 882 haste)
Equipping the tongue would drop me ~2% haste, and I'm already sub-30% so I'm not sure if it would be an upgrade.
Which also brings me to my next point. What would be the best way for me to calculate if a trinket with a proc or use effect is an upgrade over raw stats?
Additionally, as you can see on my armory page I have most of the class hall set equipped, and I do have access to the 8-set bonus aswell.
How would be the best way to judge wether going for the 8-set bonus is a dps increase? Similarly, how would I judge whether or not dropping the 6-set bonus is the right move?
Any help or feedback would be very welcome.

      Hello all,

I would like to get some opinions about  Legion order hall set bonus for retri paladins. As you all know at 6 set bonus it gives 500 strength, and at 8 set it has a chance to give 2000 haste.
My first question is; is it worth to equip 1 or 2 bis items even it means you lose 6 set bonus?
Second question is; my haste is 29.87% at the moment, recomended haste for retri paladins is 30%, is it still beneficial  to get 8 set bonus? Or is it not worth it?
      Thank you all.

850 mark of dargul (932 crit, 419 speed) vs
840 no proc trinket (1,123 agi, 898 mastery)
So, basically, which is better? I'm fairly sure the 840 is stronger, but I haven't used the Mark before, so I don't know how strong/weak the proc is.
(Mark of Dargul for proc reference:
