Missing CP

4 posts in this topic

Hi,

I have simple question.

What to do when Im missing one combo point and all my bleeds are ticking ??

Examples:

1. I have 4 out of 5 combo points, do I cast 4cp Envenom or do I use Mutilate or Hemo to get that one missing point and then cast full 5cp Envenom ??
2. Im 5 out 6 combo points (with Deeper Stratgem talent), same as above, do I cast Mutilate, Hemo to get full 6cp, or I just dump 5cp Envenom ??

From what I read around, the damage isn't that much of concern when it comes down to 1 CP difference when going to be capped. If you're with 1 CP from being capped, do not use Mutilate, you'd be wasting 1 CP (potentially 2 if you crit). Being @ 4/5 (or 5/6) CP is rather frequent, so that behavior can lead to damage loss. I suggest you either using 4/5 (or 5/6) CPs or then filling up with Hemorrhage/Garrote.

Thumb rule is: Rupture try to fit always 6CP (Hemo or Garrote), Envenom don't worry much, save CPs.

Yeah, I dig through some forums and posts. It looks like there is not much difference betwean 5cp vs 6cp Envenom.
However, using 6cp Rupture seems to be more beneficient.

This, yes.

The way I normally say it is:

  • if you have 5/6 cp and need to refresh Rupture immediately because it is expiring, use a 5cp Rupture.
  • if you have 5/6 cp and don't need to refresh rupture immediately but you will in the next couple seconds, use Mut (or Hemo - Hemo would be preferable, even if it's a little outside its regular refresh window)
  • If you have 5/6 cp and have time to build more cp before refreshing Rup, use a 5 cp Envenom

It's very important to note that 5/6 is when this applies, because 4/5 does not give you the guaranteed extra energy.

now ive tried diffrent ways of doing my rotation but i still cant seem to "hold it up" i am high up at start...til like 30-60sec into the fight then i start falling behind:(

So iam willing to give out 1 token to whom ever can give me a reasonable, understandable solution that works for me
(i know i didnt optimize my trueshot, prepots etc etc) But the problem is after trueshot and my troll racial is "over" i start falling:(
this is what i wanna figure out, ive tried to do Aimed and then barrage/windburst etc but i seem to starve on focus, ive tried the 2aimed then some cd's but seems i fall behind on Aimedshot dmg then:(

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/xZf9NW1KV6nyLgXQ#fight=30&type=damage-done&source=153          <----Log of the actuall kill
here i got run over, but still my numbers are abysmal  (7% pref(

here is the same rotation but a wipe  (29% pref)
      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/xZf9NW1KV6nyLgXQ#fight=28&type=damage-done&source=153

another wipe, same rotation but only 9% pref
      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/xZf9NW1KV6nyLgXQ#fight=27&type=damage-done&source=153

So even with the same rotation (atleast i think and feel like i do the same) i can go from 7% pref to 29% pref, i know alot of dmg is RNG but i cant be THAT Unlucky
id say my avg preformance is about 10% so iam not unlucky iam sucky:(
but i need to understand what i need to work on:( rotation i know...but is it as simple as to get the azortian down to the perfection?
cause ive seen other hunters do my "get as many aimedshot as possible into vuln phase" do like 98% pref...but when i do it i fall down to 9.8:)

tnx for any input and help

and ill be more then willing to hand out a token for a guide/suggestion that actually works for me

Hey everyone. I'm worried that my time invested in BM is for not. However, with the changes coming to MM, my thoughts are that BM may still be a viable raiding spec. I enjoy BM because of its freedom of movement.  A dead hunter does no damage, and that my motto. With that being said, I want to be sure I'm maximising my damage output. I'm currently waiting on some drops, namely trinkets, which I've been incredibly unlucky with, but other than that, I'm geming for mastery, and enchanting agi where needed. Currently, in raids, with flasks and potions, I've been ranging in dps from about 265-310, depending on the fight.  Given my gear, I feel like I should be doing more. I'm unsure if I'm hitting a ceiling with BM, or if it is something I'm doing wrong. I've been following the standard rotation posted on icy-veins, and even under normalized conditions on training dummies (no flasks etc...), under 2-3 min rotations, I've been peaking at around 270k dps. Any thoughts on this?

      Hello!
I've been playing a bunch of mage recently to eventually find myself at 850 ilevel (down to 849 for stat purpose, I swapped an item for more haste and crit instead of mastery). However, since my last raid (yesterday), I feel like I might not be pulling enough damage for my ilevel so I'm looking for advices concerning the spec, rotation or stats. Further down, you're going to find my armory profile but I want to say it right here and now : I am aware that I'm overflowing with Mastery and I am currently working towards lowering that by a lot (if only gear would drop D:).

While we're here, I also wanted to hear about your thoughts on specs. I just did a Maw Mythic +4 and some people didn't seem to be happy when they saw that I was frost and told me they should've known before because of some AoE issue and damage in general. Could it be that Frost isn't as good as Simulationcraft says it is ? I roughly hit the 200k DPS mark and I find myself pretty low compared to some people. Maybe Fire is better? Or even Arcane (even though I find it disgusting...). What do y'all think?

      Cheers!

      Hello!
i struggle with Markedshot procs:( in general, so i know something is wrong with my rotation(cant be that unlucky)

at start of a fight iam allways top 3...but then i fall like a rock in water:(
so iam wondering if you can actually do too many aimedshot, wich will prevent you from getting proccs more often?
      i actually get 3 AiS into a 5sec vuln...

compared to other hunters in my guild iam up to par when it comes to AiS but on barrage and marked iam way behind:(
i know i gotta be better at Barrage use, but the markedshot proccs really bug me:( I just cant seem to get em

      any suggestions?
