Table of Contents

Ragnaros the Firelord is a neutral minion. This card can be obtained from expert packs. Below the card images, you will find explanations to help you use the card optimally in every game mode of Hearthstone.

1. General Comments

Ragnaros the Firelord is one of the staple Legendary minions in the game. It is fast enough that even at 8 Mana, you can usually find time to play it in a game. Since it comes onto the board and impacts the game immediately by causing 8 damage, there is no significant loss of tempo, which usually comes with playing an 8 Mana card.

2. Constructed Play

Ragnaros the Firelord is commonly used in Control decks, as well as a finisher in more aggressive midrange decks. It is extremely vulnerable to Big Game Hunter however, and you should consider how common this card is in the meta you are facing before including Ragnaros in your deck.

3. Arena

Ragnaros the Firelord is one of the most powerful Legendaries in the Arena, as it has immediate impact on the board and it will force your opponent to eliminate it right away. It can serve as a great finisher if you manage to clean the board on the turn you play it, or it can start creating card advantage immediately. Since the most common way of removing Ragnaros, Big Game Hunter, is rarely seen in Arena, it will almost always create a strong advantage for you.
