Blackhowl Gunspire is a Warrior-only minion. This card was introduced with The Witchwood and can now only be obtained through crafting. Below the card images, you will find explanations to help you use the card optimally in every game mode of Hearthstone.

1.

General Comments

Blackhowl Gunspire is a very interesting card due to the fact it cannot attack, and yet does not have Taunt either. This means that the opponent has the option to ignore it entirely. However, ignoring it will allow the Warrior to trigger the effect using the multitude of Whirlwind effects available to it. This means that the opponent will often have to deal with the Gunspire on their own terms to minimise long-term damage.

2.

Constructed Play

The best use of Blackhowl Gunspire in Constructed play is with effects that deal damage to all minions. Scourgelord Garrosh is particularly good with the card due to the repeatability of the Hero Power. Once established, the Gunspire can be a very powerful way of keeping control of the board, and eventually inflicting damage directly to the opponent.

3.

Arena

In Arena, it will usually be difficult to set up enough Whirlwind effects to make the Gunspire of any use at all. For this reason, it should be avoided except in exceptional circumstances.
