On this page, you will find a S6 legendary budget Hunter Kolento Control Wild deck. It costs 3,940 a total of Arcane Dust to make, and it is called legendary because it utilises any number of required Legendary cards. This deck is designed to help you reach the top of the rankings (and possibly even Legend rank).

2. About This Deck

This deck theme (notably the inclusion of King Mukla and Dire Wolf Alpha) was popularised by Kolento, a popular Hearthstone streamer and a proficient player.

While we do take full responsibility for the viability of this deck, and we will modify it any time we feel that it is necessary, we believe that it is important to give credit to the deck's original creator.

3. Strategy

Our Legendary Hunter Control deck can be extremely aggressive, however compared to most aggressive Hunter decks, it offers more Hunter synergies and much more reliable late game.

Despite the control play style, your early game can often be extremely aggressive and you should always attempt to put as much pressure on your opponent rather than fight for board control. Even if you lose the board, you can easily get back in to the game with a good Unleash the Hounds combo throughout the mid game.

Flare will often be a simple filler for your spare Mana and allow you to cycle a card, however when playing a mirror match or against any other class with Secrets (Mage, Paladin), you should always consider holding on to it if you suspect your opponent is playing Secrets in their deck, so that you can create card advantage.

An aggressive start and your Hero Power can bring your opponent extremely low on health and you can easily dominate the board with your Unleash the Hounds combos and powerful minions such as Savannah Highmane.

3.1. Synergies and Combinations

When it comes to card advantage, Hunters rely on the Unleash the Hounds and Starving Buzzard combo. Timber Wolf or Dire Wolf Alpha will increase the potential of your Hounds, and you should always hold on to them until you can play the Buzzard / Unleash combo.

Scavenging Hyena can be easily grow to be a real threat for your opponent when you play Unleash the Hounds.

Houndmaster will make any of your beasts an excellent taunter throughout the mid-late game, as well as boost the aggressive potential of the beast you are buffing.

Hunter's Mark will help you take out your opponent's threats, or it can serve as a great finisher when trying to break through taunters when going for the kill. Hunter's Mark works great with Unleash the Hounds or Stonetusk Boar.

Leeroy Jenkins will spawn 2 Whelps for your opponent, which increases the number of minions they have, and consequently the potential of your Unleash the Hounds, as you will get 2 additional Hounds.

3.2. Mulligan / Starting Hand

You should mulligan for as aggressive a hand as possible, which means it would be prudent to keep your most aggressive cards that will shape your early game.

Generally, Animal Companion or King Mukla will be one of your best early plays, and you should always mulligan any expensive cards away, trying to find one of these cards or one of your other cheap minions.

When playing against minion-heavy aggressive decks such as Warlocks, Unleash the Hounds is essential and you should attempt to get it in your starting hand by replacing anything but Animal Companion or Tracking.

3.3. Card Swaps

Should you constantly be matched against extremely aggressive minion-based decks, including Explosive Trap could prove to be a good investment.

You should consider including Ironbeak Owl in your deck as the Silence can often come in handy and help you break through taunters, as well as diminish the board impact of certain minions.

Choosing which cards to replace always depends on the meta game, however you can always consider taking out a Flare, Scavenging Hyena, and potentially a Stampeding Kodo or a Savannah Highmane.
