BiS List for Beast Mastery Hunter in Season 1

This list contains the best gear in every slot for Season 1 of Midnight, from all sources.

Mythic+ items are chosen when there is no equally strong Raid alternative. This list is not the end-all-be-all list where any item that is not listed is far behind this specific selection.

Raid Gear BiS List for Beast Mastery Hunter in Season 1

This list contains the best gear in every slot for Season 1 of Midnight, from the Midnight Season 1 Raids. It is very similar to our Overall BiS List, since that is biased towards Raid Gear as well, but in this case, absolutely no Mythic+ items are included.

There are many different setups that perform within the margin of error. This list is not the end-all-be-all list where any item that is not listed is far behind this specific selection.

TipsWhich Raid-Items Do I Want Most?
If you need to submit a list of highly-important items to your raid leader, or simply want to focus on the most important bosses and items, we have you covered!
  • Radiant Plume Icon Radiant Plume: Our best passive trinket. It can be freely swapped to a Umbral Plume Icon Umbral Plume, but we will almost always prefer the Radiant one.
  • Amulet of the Abyssal Hymn Icon Amulet of the Abyssal Hymn: The best Neck in the game by a wide margin. Mythic+ alternatives have awful stats. It also has an extra socket.
  • Bond of Light Icon Bond of Light: The best Ring by a significant margin. Great stats.
  • Eye of Midnight Icon Eye of Midnight: Another BiS Ring. The stats on it are not great, but the extra socket makes up for it.

FAQWhich Tier Set Pieces Do I Want?
For Midnight Season 1 as a Beast Mastery Hunter, you will want to try and prioritize getting the Helmet, Chest, Gloves, and Legs set pieces, though finishing the set bonus is the most important thing here. We want the flexibility to use Pauldrons of the Void Hunter Icon Pauldrons of the Void Hunter when fighting Aberration Bosses, and some good Crit-Mastery Shoulders otherwise.

Trinket Recommendations

As Beast Mastery, we are fairly flexible in the Trinkets we like. We are not very bursty, so we do not need a strong on-use Trinket for good damage output, but controlled, bursty damage tends to be better than "flat" damage, so we still prefer on-use trinkets when all else is equal.

There are quite a few other valuable trinkets out there, so make sure to click on our ranking chart to see if they are worth equipping. Note that you do not want to have more than 1 on-use Trinket. You can almost think of the "On-Use" Trinkets ranked as being separate from the others.

"Simming" Yourself as a Beast Mastery Hunter

Throughout this page, we regularly refer to the importance of simming yourself on Raidbots, as it is an indispensable aspect of optimizing your character.

If you are new to simming and Raidbots, check out our detailed guide below.

Best Crafted Items for Beast Mastery Hunter

You can have two Embellishments, which are special effects that come from Crafted Gear. In other words, all good gearsets have two Embellished, crafted items, and below, I will explain the best Embellishments to use, and what to craft them on.

The big decision is whether to prioritize crafting a weapon or other pieces first. World Tender's is endgame BiS; but early on, the iLvl increase of a Weapon is tough to pass up. However, the first boss on Mythic offers a weapon, and your Mythic+ Great Vault offers another chance of getting a weapon.

  • Option 1: World Tender's Rootslippers Icon World Tender's Rootslippers/ World Tender's Barkclasp Icon World Tender's Barkclasp — Your BiS in the long run, and a "safe" Craft in the sense that they will never be replaced. However, if you Craft this and you do not get a Mythic Weapon drop for weeks on end, it can be worse than Crafting a Weapon.
  • Option 2: Aln'hara Sprigshot Icon Aln'hara Sprigshot with Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt Icon Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt — In a way, this is "safer" as its minimum DPS is higher, but it does put you on an awkward path and you will not finalize your BiS Crafts for quite a long time. On the bright side, you have a guaranteed chunk of extra power early on, and you will not have a lot of anxiety about getting a Mythic weapon to drop.
  • Option 3: Wait as long as you possibly can to see if you get a Mythic Weapon drop, and then decide afterwards. The longer you can wait, the better. You could wait until after your kill of the first boss on Mythic, you could wait until your first Vault, and so on.
  • For myself, as a World #150 Hall of Fame guild player with another Hunter in my raid, I am likely going to craft the World Tender Set after seeing what the first boss drops. My co-Hunter is likely going to craft Weapon at the same time. That way, at least one of us will get full value out of a weapon if it drops, we are sort of hedging our bets.
Beast Mastery Hunter Crafting Slot Priority Weapon → Shoulder → Neck/Rings → Cloak/Wrist

You should ideally sim the optimal stats to craft for your particular character, but Crit/Mastery is most likely your best option with a Thalassian Missive of the Peerless Icon Thalassian Missive of the Peerless.

You do not need to have a Professions to get gear crafted for you, that is what Crafting Order NPC's are for, but if you are interested in crafting for yourself and saving some Gold, check out our Professions Overview page:

6.

Best Crest Upgrades

You will be able to upgrade your items via Crests such as Myth Dawncrest Icon Myth Dawncrest. Once you have upgraded a slot to a certain item level, upgrading other items of that slot to that item level is free.

When you upgrade with Crests, you should think of it as upgrading slots and not items.

Additionally, since Crests are a limited resource, you will want to obtain the highest item-level possible before upgrading a given slot, as this means you will spend fewer Crests on that slot in total. If you are at all capable of doing a +10 Dungeon, for example, it would be a VERY bad idea to upgrade an item from a +9 Dungeon, because you just wasted 20 Crests that could have been saved by just farming the slot on a +10.

We see a ton of players, even at a high level, mess up their upgrade priorities, and upgrading prematurely. Getting this right will put you far ahead of most players.

Below is the slot priority you should upgrade your items in. If you ever want to deviate from this, you should have a very good reason.

Beast Mastery Hunter Crest Upgrade Priority WeaponTrinketsHelmet/Chest/LegsShoulder/Gloves/Belt/BootsRings/NeckCloak/Bracer

Note that exceptions are possible, such as special items that have more Item Level scaling than their slot would imply.

You can learn more about the Gear Upgrade System in our Gear Upgrade System page.
