General Information

Welcome to our Holy Paladin healing guide for World of Warcraft Legion 7.0.3. Here, you will learn everything you need to know about playing a Holy Paladin in a raid environment and in Mythic+ dungeons.

About Our Reviewer

This guide has been reviewed and approved by SpartySmallwood, one of the top Holy Paladins and guild master of Death Jesters. He streams Paladin gameplay, as well as community events on his Twitch and you can follow him on Twitter.

1. Class Overview

Holy Paladins specialise on tank and single-target healing, with this being their primary role. They possess a large amount of tools that help them mitigate or avoid damage, both on themselves and on other raid members.

Holy Paladins lack mobility, and their cooldowns as not as impactful as those of other healing classes (such as Tranquility Icon Tranquility or Divine Hymn Icon Divine Hymn).

In order to properly play a healing role, you will need more than just class-specific information. To better understand healing in general, we recommend that you read our healing guide.

2. Significant Legion Changes

The Holy specialisation has changed considerably from Warlords of Draenor, gaining many new mechanics and losing old ones. That said, it still feels quite familiar.

  • Holy Power has been removed, and Mana is the only resource.
  • Seals have been removed.
  • Holy Radiance and Denounce have been removed.
  • Your Mastery has been redesigned to now increase healing to targets the closer they are to you.
  • A new instant-cast heal called Light of the Martyr Icon Light of the Martyr has been added, which heals your target and damages you for 50% of the amount.
