Cataclysm Classic Fury Warrior Talent Builds
On this page, you will find out the best PvE talent choices and builds for your Fury Warrior in Cataclysm Classic, as well as advised glyphs.
Talent Builds for Fury Warrior
Fury Warrior has one of the most restrictive specs in all of Cataclysm, with 40 out of your 41 talent points being required in mandatory talents. Below you'll find our recommended talent build for all PvE content as a Fury Warrior.
Fury Warrior Titan's Grip Spec
This spec goes for Titan's Grip, allowing you to wield a 2-handed weapon in each hand. This is the main Fury spec for Cataclysm as it does a bit more DPS than the Single-Minded Fury alternative. Your only real talent option is swapping Heroic Fury into Piercing Howl, giving you an AoE slow on nearby enemies.
Notable Talents
In this section we will go over some of the key talents you will use when you are playing a Fury Warrior. Be sure to understand your most important talents as they are vital to play the build to its fullest strength.
- Battle Trance — Gives your Bloodthirst a 15% chance to make your next ability that costs Rage to instead be free. You will want to ideally use these procs on Heroic Strike for the highest DPS possible.
- Executioner — Whenever you use Execute you gain 5% increased attack speed per stack, up to 5 stacks. Execute is a lower priority skill as Fury, meaning you will only use Execute to keep this attack speed up every 9 seconds.
- Booming Voice — Reduces the cooldown of both Battle Shout and Commanding Shout by 30 seconds and makes them generate an additional 10 Rage. This lets you spam your shout more frequently for Rage generation.
- Rude Interruption — Whenever you interrupt an enemy casting a spell you gain 5% increased damage for 30 seconds. Try to always interrupt enemy spell casters with Pummel whenever possible.
- Death Wish — 3-minute cooldown. This is a massive DPS cooldown, increasing all Physical damage you deal by 20% for 30 seconds, but increases your damage taken by 20%. If you are using the recommended Glyph of Death Wish you won't take any additional damage while Death Wish is active. The damage dealt effect of this cooldown is increased by the Fury mastery Unshackled Fury.
- Enrage — Gives your melee hits a 9% chance to Enrage you, increasing your Physical damage dealt by 10% for 9 seconds. Fury gameplay revolves around Enrage effects to use spells such as Raging Blow, and all Enrage effects are increased by the Fury mastery Unshackled Fury.
- Flurry — Increases your Attack Speed by 25% for 3 attacks whenever you deal a crit. Ideally you will want at least 40% crit chance to have high uptime on this buff as it is a moderate increase to your damage.
- Raging Blow — Deals 100% weapon damage with both weapons, but requires you to be Enraged to use this. Damage of this spell is also buffed by the Fury mastery Unshackled Fury
- Rampage — This gives you 2% increased crit chance, and gives you a group-wide buff that gives all allies 5% increased crit chance. You gain 7% total crit from this talent.
- Intensify Rage — Reduces the cooldown of Berserker Rage, Death Wish, and Recklessness by 20%. These are all crucial Fury abilities as they give you an Enrage effect.
- Meat Cleaver — Dealing damage with either Whirlwind or Cleave gives you a stacking buff, up to 3 stacks total, increasing their damage by 10% per stack for 10 seconds. This makes you a powerful force when dealing AoE damage on trash or cleaving multi-target bosses.
- Bloodsurge — Gives your Bloodthirst a 30% chance to make your next Slam an instant cast, cost no Rage, and deal 20% increased damage. Be mindful of your procs and use these procs as soon as possible so none go to waste.
- Titan's Grip — One of the final talent point at the bottom of the Fury tree; with this talent, you can wield two-handed weapons in each hand, greatly increasing your damage-dealing capabilities and giving you the highest stats possible.
- Single-Minded Fury — One of the final talent point at the bottom of the Fury tree. Increases all damage you deal by 20% when wielding a 1-handed weapon in each hand, and causes your Slam to hit with both weapons, increasing its damage by 62.5%. Because of the loss of weapon damage from using 1-handed weapons rather than Titan's Grips 2-handed weapons in addition to the stat loss, this falls slightly behind Titan's Grip in terms of damage output.
Prime Glyphs
Prime glyphs are new to Cataclysm, giving you a third "row" of glyphs you can use on your character. You don't really have many options when it comes to prime glyphs as there are very limited options, usually only 3 avaiable for each specialization.
- Glyph of Bloodthirst — Bloodthirst is your main ability, making this a mandatory glyph.
- Glyph of Raging Blow — Raging Blow is one of your main abilities, making this a mandatory glyph.
- Glyph of Slam — You will use Slam whenever you get Bloodsurge procs, making this a great glyph.
Major Glyphs
Major glyphs usually offer utility over damage increases compared to prime glyphs. Here you have a few options depending on whether you are in an AoE or single target situation.
- Glyph of Death Wish — Removes the 20% increased damage taken while Death Wish is active.
- Glyph of Colossus Smash — Causes Colossus Smash to apply a stack of Sunder Armor. If you are not responsible for keeping up the armor reduce debuff, this glyph should be replaced.
- Glyph of Cleaving — Makes Cleave hit 3 targets; use this for trash and bosses with multiple targets.
- Glyph of Heroic Throw — Applies a stack of Sunder Armor to the target. This is great on the pull and if the target is out of range if you are responsible for keeping up Sunder Armor.
- Glyph of Thunder Clap — Increase the radius of Thunder Clap by 2 yards. Great for AoEing trash.
Minor Glyphs
Minor glyphs typically provide very minor benefits. Your choices will vary depending on what buffs and debuffs you are responsible for keeping up. In 10-man raids for example, you will likely need to use either Glyph of Battle or Glyph of Command with Glyph of Furious Sundering and Glyph of Berserker Rage.
- Glyph of Berserker Rage — Makes Berserker Rage generate 5 Rage when used. Useful during downtime or trash.
- Glyph of Command — Use this if you are responsible for upkeeping Commanding Shout.
- Glyph of Battle — Use this if you are responsible for upkeeping Battle Shout.
- Glyph of Furious Sundering — Use this if you are responsible for upkeeping Sunder Armor.
- Glyph of Bloody Healing — Increase the healing you receive from Bloodthirst by 40%.
