Different Elements and Effects in Honkai Star Rail

In Honkai Star Rail, enemies have weaknesses to certain elemental types. By choosing characters that match these elements, players can deal greater damage, break through the enemy’s Toughness faster, and trigger a Weakness Break to gain an advantage during combat.

Enemy Elemental Weaknesses

Before engaging in combat, check above the enemy’s head to identify its elemental weakness. This information helps you choose the most effective team for the battle. Keep in mind that elemental resistances and weaknesses are fixed, using an element the enemy is weak to won't deal extra damage, but it will reduce the enemy’s Toughness more effectively.

What is Break Effect?

Break Effect is a character-specific stat which enhances a range of effects caused by weakness breaks. Characters specialising in breaking enemy toughness often heavily benefit from the Break Effect stat.

Break Effect boosts the impact of Weakness Breaks by increasing Break DMG, DoT, and delaying enemy actions further. Break Effect can be increased with:

  • Certain Relic Sets
  • Light Cones
  • Character's Skills, Techniques and Buffs
  • Simply Building the Break Effect Stat
