Discipline Priest Healing Guide (WoW MoP 5.3)
Welcome to our Discipline Priest healing guide for World of Warcraft MoP 5.3. Here, you will learn
everything you need to know about playing a Discipline Priest in a raid environment,
though most of the content also applies to normal and heroic dungeons.
This guide has been reviewed and approved by Jhazrun, one of the best Discipline Priests in the world, who raids in Paragon.
Priest are the most versatile of all healers. The Discipline specialisation provides healers with many tools, suited to most situations encountered during raids.
Discipline Priests specialise in damage absorption and mitigation. Through various abilities and talents, Discipline Priests aim at avoiding damage and smoothing out incoming damage, rather than simply healing it.
Discipline Priests can tank heal and raid heal equally well, although each task is performed in a different way (and indeed, there are different ways in which each task can be performed). This leads to a large variety of playstyle options.
To make it easy to bookmark the specific sections you are interested in, we have split the guide into 7 pages:
- Builds, Talents, and Glyphs: learn what the best talent trees are and how to customise them;
- Rotation, Cooldowns, and Abilities: understand how to play your class in an optimal way;
- Buffs, Debuffs, and Useful Abilities: discover your arsenal of useful abilities;
- Statistics Priority and Reforging: read up on the respective values of your statistics;
- Gems, Enchants, and Professions: choose the best gems, enchantments, and consumables;
