Reshii Wraps
11.2 brings with it a new Legendary cloak: Reshii Wraps. This is a cloak
which not only has a damage proc attached to it,
you also get to choose the secondary stats on the cloak through specific
cloak-gems and will be upgradeable as the season progresses.
There are some effect on other items which interact with or amplify the cloak
effect, such as: Interloper's Reinforced Sandals
and
Band of the Shattered Soul. The boots have the perfect stats for
Subtlety so they’re definitely the best boots available but
the ring is not something we desire as it carries with it an insane
amount of haste. So even though the ring brings extra defensive
value its not worth the damage loss you'd get by equipping it.
Durable Information Securing Container
Since Patch 11.1.7, you are able to acquire a belt from Delves, the
Durable Information Securing Container. By venturing into Delves
you will be able to acquire this item after a short questline.
For more information on how to acquire or upgrade the belt, make sure to check out our dedicated Delves guide!
This belt starts at ilevel 684 but is upgradable, all the way up to ilevel 701! Once you've unlocked the bonuses you can easily switch between them by right-clicking the belt and selecting another bonus effect. Depending on what content you are doing you would want to select the following bonus effects:
- For Raid/Single-Target:
Critical Chain
- For Mythic+:
Critical Chain
- For World Content/Delves:
Critical Chain
Regular belts eventually become better than this belt, this happens when the alternative belt is around ~710 ilevel. As you are unlikely to get one of those particularly quickly this belt may be useful for quite a while.
Best Trinkets for Subtlety Rogue in Season 3
There are a number of good trinkets available for Subtlety Rogue in Season 3. As we are a very heavy burst class lets start with looking at the available On-use options:
Unyielding Netherprism - This trinket is extremely powerful for Subtlety as it gives a very large damage boost when you use the trinket. If you for some reason need to hold your cooldowns for a bit you will gain even more from the active effect from this. However, it is not worth delaying
Flagellation specifically to gain more stacks of this trinket, just play like you would and use this together with your
Shadow Blades. It does come with the downside of losing your built up stacks if you happen to die and not having an active trinket at the start of the fight, both which is unfortunate but the payoff later on in the fight makes it worthwhile.
Araz's Ritual Forge - This trinket has a 2 minute cooldown, which is unfortunate as
Shadow Blades has 90 seconds. Despite this its still a very strong trinket as it provides a large amount of agility when used. We do not want to delay
Shadow Blades for 30 seconds to have it alongside the trinket, instead we just hold onto t he trinket for a minute and use it with every other
Shadow Blades, giving the trinket effectively a 3 minute cooldown. Overall this trinket is better than
Unyielding Netherprism on short (less than 5 minutes) fights and worse on everything else.
There are a couple of other alternatives you can go for if you do not yet
have access to any of the two trinkets above, such as
Lily of the Eternal Weave or
Cursed Stone Idol.
These two trinket might seem strong at first glance but unfortunately the
number tuning on them is quite a bit lower than the raid options listed
above so they’re not quite as powerful.
For your secondary passive trinket these trinkets listed below are always solid choices, but most passive trinkets are pretty solid so if you have something else at a higher ilvl it might be stronger than the ones listed here.
Improvised Seaforium Pacemaker - Provides a solid amount of crit on a 60 second cooldown, which does not always line up with our
Shadow Blades but when it does it is strong.
Sigil of the Cosmic Hunt - Does good damage that increases as the boss health gets lower.
Astral Antenna - Spawns small orbs that float towards you and give you a decent chunk of crit whenever you run into them.
Empowering Crystal of Anub'ikkaj - Just a passive stat trinket, high uptime with solid numbers.
Void-Touched Fragment - An insanely strong mastery proc that is very random, insanely good if it procs during
Shadow Blades and not very good if it procs outside of it.
Embellished Items
Up to two of your crafted items can be Embellished. This is a similar concept as Unique-Equipped, as you can only wear two items that have the Embellished status. Some crafted items, many of which have powerful procs or beneficial effects by default, are considered Embellished. You can also add Embellishments from a variety of professions to any crafted item, adding the effect to this item either when creating it or at a later stage.
The recommended slot to craft is Mainhand Weapon if you do not already have a dagger on the MYTH track. If you already have that then Bracers, Cloak, Belt or Boots are all solid options depending on what other items you have available. There are a plethora of different embellishments that are all very very close to each other (since they're all relatively unimpactful compared to how strong they were in Dragonflight) so any combination of these 3 is what's typically the best:
- Two
Elemental Focusing Lens items.
- Two
Duskthread Lining items.
- One weapon with
Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension and one
Writhing Armor Banding item.
Best Gear Upgrades for Subtlety Rogue
As you complete endgame content in The War Within, you will gather upgrade
crests such as Gilded Harbinger Crest that can be used to upgrade
your items. Once you have upgraded a slot to a particular item level, any other
item in that slot can be upgraded without a Crest cost.
As Crests are a limited resource and capped early on in the season, ideally, you will want to obtain the highest item-level possible before committing any crests to upgrade it, as this will save you upgrades in the long run. If you are capable of completing higher Mythic+ dungeons, it is generally a good idea to wait until you have the slot maxed out with free upgrades first.
Below is a general slot priority you should upgrade your items in.
- Your Mainhand Weapon
- Trinkets
- Helm/Chest/Legs
- Shoulders/Gloves/Belt/Boots
- Rings and Necks
- Cloak, Bracers and Offhand Weapon
The Importance of "Simming Yourself" as a Subtlety Rogue
With all the different layers of gearing currently available to players, it is impossible to cover all edge cases and individual recommendations in a guide. We therefore highly recommend simming your own character by using Raidbots. This website allows for precise and individualized recommendations that consider your exact talents, gear, trinket, and all the other layers of gearing that the game has to offer. Learning to use this tool is essential to maximizing your potential, as it is the only reliable way to get information on which piece of gear, enchant, gem, or trinket is the best for your character.
