Alchemy in Chrono Odyssey
Learn more about how you can master the Alchemy profession in Chrono Odyssey.
Alchemy in Chrono Odyssey
The Alchemy profession in Chrono Odyssey is considered to be one of the most important professions in the game. That's because it grants you the ability to craft unique potions and consumables that will support you on the battlefield. By combining a range of gatherables, such as herbs, reagents, berries, and more, you'll be able to craft consumables that will help you maximize damage output and survivability.
By visiting a primary town (such as the Dawn Slope Settlement), players will be able to visit the Alchemy shop, allowing them to interact with the Alchemy table to view the required ingredients for each consumable and start crafting. When interacting with the Alchemy table, players will be able to see the full list of craftable potions, required ingredients, gold cost, and of coure have the action to start crafting them.
By mastering the Alchemy profession, players will be able to better prepare them for not only major PvE-related content (like Chrono Gates), but also open-world PvP encounters.
Types of Craftable Potions
There are many, many unique types of potions one can craft through the Alchemy profession. All of these consumables are categorized by tier and effect type. As you continue to level up your Alchemy profession, the overall quality of potential potions you can craft increases.
Please note: HP potions no longer function as individual consumable items, and are no longer part of the alchemy profession. Instead, they are now a permanent, rechargable system thhat auto-refills upon death in instanced content, removing the need to return to town for crafting or replenishing supplies.
To learn more about the different types of consumables in Chrono Odyssey and what they provide, check out the list below.
- Mana Potions: Instantly recovers mana.
- Vigor Potions: Instantly recovers vigor.
- Carnage Potions: Grants +3 to Strength, Dexterity, Intellect, and Wisdom.
- Attack Potions: Temporarily boosts attack.
- Defense Potions: Temporarily boosts defense.
- Battle Potions: Temporarily boosts a small amount of attack and defense.
Helpful Tip: Most of these potions require Solvent Reagents as a key ingredient. In order to craft Solvent Reagents, you will need to have Herbs. With this in mind, be sure to stop and gather Herbs as you explore Setera to ensure you have what you need to start crafting potions as early as possible in Chrono Odyssey!
Where to Find Recipes
Some consumables require players to learn their recipe before they're craftable. Recipes can be found either by purchasing them directly from vendors, receiving them as quest rewards, or discovering them as you explore Setera (through mob drops or opening chests). When just starting your Alchemy journey, it's recommended to visit the NPC named "Frontline Physician Lyndel" in the Dawn Slope Settlement, who will sell you handful of entry-level Alchemy recipes for 3,000 gold each (pictured below).
If you plan on mastering the Alchemy profession, it's recommended that you purchase each recipe. By doing so, you'll have the ability to craft a wider variety of potions (each requiring different ingredients), giving you more possibilties to craft potions and level your Alchemy profession faster.
Alchemy Leveling Guide
Leveling Alchemy in Chrono Odyssey is one of the most useful and rewarding thing to do for every player. As you progress your Alchemy profession, you'll gain access to higher-tiered potions that can greatly boost your combat power, defense, and even the gold in your pocket. However, leveling Alchemy is not an easy task - it requires gathering a great amount of materials and organization to determine which recipes to focus on.
The first step to leveling Alchemy is by stockpiling basic ingredients, such as herbs and berries. These are the core ingredients for crafting Thin Solvent Reagents and entry-level potions. Once you have a large stockpile of ingredients, spend them all on crafting Solvent Reagents, and then convert those into entry level potions. This will provide you with a great amount of Alchemy experience, as well as a handful of useful consumables for your travels.
As your Alchemy skill increases, start incorporating higher-tier potions like Battle or Carnage potions. This will allow you to branch out from the typical Herbs and Berries, and use other ingredients you may already have in your inventory or storage. The higher the tier potion is, the more Alchemy experience you gain when crafting it.
Making Gold with Alchemy
The great thing about Alchemy is that it produces consumables that every player in Chrono Odyssey will be using. In other words, there will always be a high-demand for potions, making Alchemy a great profession to use in order to make some gold.
Although there is not a direct trading system in Chrono Odyssey, there is a Trading Post, allowing players to post specific items to the market at a set price, where other players can then purchase. In order to make the most amount of gold with Alchemy, it's recommended to craft and try to sell the most useful potions within the game, which are the highest tiered potions. It's best practice to review the Trading Post on your server prior to mass-crafting potions, as you can determine which ones currently go for the most gold so you can maximize your profit.
