Guide contradicts itself numerous times. Says to cast reap and drain after two casts of UA, another part of the guide says dump them all unless playing with contagion.

Also says no matter your build, it is advisable to focus UA on one target, then the paragraph IMMEDIATELY after advises you to keep UA up on all targets.

Can you please tell me the sections that you are seeing these errors under? (the numbers above them and which page)

It helps me to pass on to Furty exactly what needs to be changed. Thanks!

Don't really see how this is contradictory?

Hi,

I have the legendary belt and I feel it is the worst legy ever as it makes me feel very uncomfortable with my rotations.

Could you please expalin how the rotations should look like?

Thanks in advance.

Then I have another question. I have seen in numerous videos, that in ElvUI exists an option to show the soul shards above the nameplates. I liek this feature very much, but I don`t use ElvUI. Which addon provides this ?

Is there any ETA on stat weights coming back for 7.1.5?  As someone that PvPs a lot I'd like to see which pieces will benefit me more even if they are 10 or 20 ilvls down.

Thank you!

Unless you mean World PvP, you should always use your highest ilevel gear when doing battlegrounds or arena, as all your stats are normalized, and then get a slight boost based on your ilevel.

Its my first time using the Pawn addon. Are the stat weights for Pawn reliable for affliction warlocks?

I'm not asking for PvP but PvE.  I want stat weights to see if I should use (for example) an 840 piece with mastery and crit or an 865 piece with mastery and versatility.  Depending on the weights of the stats either one of them could be superior.  (This is for PvE, not PvP, I know that PvP scales your gear off ilvl alone).

In recommended addons, Enemy Grid should be there. It gives you the name plates of all engaged enemies in a nice easy to click grid. Way helpful for keeping dots up.

That was amazing back before Blizz put out a patch to stop us using it. You can still be shown all targets but they aren't clickable.

Also, I have found Bough of CorruptionBough of Corruption to be very powerful as aff.... when it procs

Have you thought of using mouseover macros? If i were to use a grid system to have enemy names in a raid frames like display, id have my dots macro'd to plan keybind being cast on target, but shift keybind casts on my mouseover

You would still use the same rotation, just ensure that UA falls off before reapplying it in step 6. The priorities will still be the same though.

They'll never be completely accurate. You'll need to keep simming your character to find out your own ones.

He was answering because in your first post you said PvP. Assuming it was a typo.

For the most accurate stat weights, you can enable scaling and weights in SimCraft and use that to find the most accurate possible weights for you. It's always the best thing to do rather than relying on general weights.

Retrospectively, this would have been useful, but given the latest changes, it's no longer worth. Thanks for helping to contribute though!

This is often the issue. The current proc rate is really unreliable I find. Do you have any logs of you using it? It'd be interesting to see other people's proc numbers!

Definitely a good suggestion. I use them for applying my DoTs while healing as druid, since it just makes it so much easier.

I almost feel like there needs to be an updated rotation for a grasp single target build? It can't be right that the 70% increase to DoT dmg should be so far down the list or?

I'm using grasp+contagion and I struggle to decide what to keep throwing instead of grasp but I know I lose 70% DoT boost so I don't really want to ^^

So I guess in other words the question would be: If you are using the grasp talent, should you not prioritze uptiume on Drain soul more?

Can you please update the Sin'Dorei Spite Legendary? It's not working for Affliction anymore... I just got it and it only works for Demonology. I had my loot spec on Demo just for that one Legendary cause pretty much all the other Affliction Legendaries are... simply boring. I'm gonna cry... Or thinking about switching spec.

Honestly, I don't think so. Despite the boost in damage from channeling Drain Soul, it's more important to prioritise actually placing all the DoTs on the enemy prior to having a shorter DS channel, rather than interrupting your DoT casting to try and grant the fewer DoTs the damage boost.

We are currently in the process of updating our guides in preparation for the release of 7.2 - please understand that we will not be answering questions in this section about "What is better for 7.2?" prior to the patch release, since all the information will be available when the patch goes live. Please be patient and thanks for waiting!

Guide says no changes needed for Patch 7.2 when it comes to Legendarys/BiS. But there was a change on  Sacrolash's Dark Strike which now also increases the damage of Corruption by 15 %. I assume its one of the best legendarys for affliction now.

Will make sure to get this passed on and updated! Was most likely just an error while transferring information across for the update. Sorry and thanks for letting me know!

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?

Affliction is getting plenty of changes today as well, with Blizzard detailing the reasoning behind certain choices.
      Affliction (Source)
      Greetings Warlocks,
Today, we have various Core and Affliction tree changes hitting the Alpha. We want to take a moment to go a bit more in depth as to what certain changes were made and why. As a refresher, here are the goals for our Core and Afflictions that we posted last week along with some additional goals that we can dig into here.
      Class
Ensure each capstone is interesting and exciting. Reduce the amount of throughput talents, to free up utility choices. Reduce the number of ranks for talents that don’t warrant multiple ranks. Affliction
Address the tuning of Malefic Rapture in single-target and multi-target situations. Reduce complexity and the amount of active buttons that contribute to it. Erase the need to choose between a single-target or multi-target profile by adding more adaptability and flexibility. While we cannot go over every change here, we’d like to get a bit more detailed than last week’s update and explain some of the bigger changes coming in this build.
      Class Tree Throughput
We’re removing a lot of throughput talents from the class tree to allow warlocks to pick up more utility without feeling forced to take mandatory talents to be competitive. These talents aren’t compelling options when placed against utility as they will always be the right answer to have. This allows us to move that power into the specialization trees and tailor throughput-centric talents to be specific to that specialization’s gameplay.
      Malefic Rapture
In addition to becoming baseline for Affliction, we are introducing new talents that will help Malefic Rapture become the go-to spender for both single-target and multi-target situations. This should also shift Seed of Corruption to being a means to apply Corruption to multiple targets rather than what you spam in dungeons. In addition, we are redesigning Siphon Life to be friendlier to Affliction’s rotation and expect that its new design will make it easier to optimize Malefic Rapture.
      Affliction’s Adaptability
While we do want Affliction warlocks to have a preferred talent setup for single- versus multi-target situations, we don’t want it to feel like they are powerless if they are in the opposite situation. By focusing on Malefic Rapture being Affliction’s main spender and removing talents that are only valuable in multi-target situations (Soul Flame, Soul Swap, Doom Blossom, etc.), we’re hoping that the Affliction tree feels less punishing to fill out.
      Is This It?
Not at all. We expect to make changes based on feedback and our own playtesting. We want to get the ball rolling on changes we knew we want to make, so we could start the discussion early on and make adjustments before The War Within launches.
Thank you all for the continued discussions and we look forward to your feedback!
And here are the full changes from the development notes:
